When I got into the hobby a few months ago, I started with very budget boards like the GMK67 and the GAS67. I always went for a thocky sound profile, which is fine, I still enjoy them from time to time. But ever since I got aluminum boards, I started to go for clacky builds and to be honest, I enjoy it more than thocky builds.
@@kimmyrul2603 Maturing is realizing spending hundreds of dollars on a keyboard just for sound is useless compared to functionality, build quality, durability and even feel of the switch.
I just bought Aula F75 Black side engraved a few days ago, this keyboard sounds like in between creamy and thocky, what I can say is I pretty satisfied with this keyboard that just cost me $36 only with just stock sound

Clacky is more pleasing for me in the long run when it comes to daily drivers. However in terms of short term enjoyment I do love a noice deep keyboard from time to time
I'm still only 6-7 Months into the hobby, it's still very hard for me to decide they all have their charm :). Maybe a Kohaku or Unikorn will change my mind forever xD
@@LettersEF i have tried kohaku but personally i think that it's not worth the price since it's all about the aesthetic and the hype. I think a new cycle 8 could do pretty well and at a higher price geon f1 series is pretty dope too
@@LettersEF i mean the longer you are into the hobby, the more you prefer clack since creamy is just pe tape mod and thocky is hella foam, which can be easily achieved with a budget board, unlike clacky in which you really need a good board for it to shine
@@Acheron-IX-69 I'm at the stage where I do not prefer Tape Mod.. what's the point of spending a couple of hundred dollars on a keyboard just so you could make it sound like $2 dollar painter's tape? haha... It doesn't enhance the keyboard's sound but rather adds a cheap tape sound. I'm really happy with the clackyness of the Neo65 and also with the Zoom75 for it's thocky signature which I don't think many boards can match :)
but there are still some arguments about it too I believe. In some case just 1 layer of tape could effectively deal with the hollowness, but if you are paying more than 300$ for a full board better get away from it lol
The clacky is my favourite. It would've sounded better with the CF plate but the aluminum sounds good too. Something I've noticed is the longer you stay in the hobby. The more you start to enjoy the sound of Clacky. I'm in the phase where the only boards that sound good to me are high end boards without foam, a CF plate, GMK Keycaps, and HMX switches.
@@PhoenixKeebs My hunch as the cause of this is because clacky can be super crisp and clean sounding which depends on the quality of your board! Thanks for watching :).
The Clacky keyboard is really beautiful looking with a well color composition, that keyboard with the sounds of clocky and a bit of creamy without that higher pitch tap sound I keep hearing would be perfect.
Honestly, for clack try the salvation. I own it and it does not disappoint. It clacks so clean and full. Definitely worth a shot for those with a higher budget. We are talking about 310 USD. It also has an anodised bead plated brass weight. So good for clackiness. It clacks so hard that even though I have black inks in the fr4 original plate, the spacebar clacks are very clean and obvious. The alphas are also crisp. My point is that the salvation clacks with ANY switch and plate combo. Watch the videos about it and you will understand what I mean. Furthermore, I highly appreciate the aesthetic and lovely keyboard combos - nice vid.
Either I saw the word 'creamy' used before and didn't remember, or I just thought, hey, that sounds like a good description for what I'm going for, and lo and behold it's a thing. Either way it sounds deliciouis
I'm typing this to figure out if my keyboard is creamy or thocky... I think it's creamy, thock kind of has a deeper tone to it. Creamy, just sounds quick and buttery... Yeah, it's creamy. Love the thocky sound though, might need to make some changes to this board.
I'm over the thocky keyboard phase now, high pitched creamy is my favorite now. Clackies are good sometimes but only really good ones. This clacky doesn't really shine to me but a few others had.
