At this point pq could play secondary hindenburg in ranked and still get a kraken
Not challenging enough. I think he should test that on a Konigsberg.
I really hope the legendary module for marseille will give her improved Secondary performance. either better accuracy or just better penetration.
In my opinion that would be much more interesting thaan just buffing the guns or a random consumable. Especially with this new skill captain. We have way too few secondary cruisers in this game.
It won't happen, there are only 15 degrees on both sides where all the secondaries are firing. The issue with Marseille isn't it's secondary dpm but rather where they can fire
@@patrick8734 that's not true.
The 15 degree angle you see on shiptools is actually extremely deceptive because it takes into account the back triple turret from the other side since it can technically target ships in a specific kiting angle.
In reality, an entire side has rougly a 130 degrees overall angle where all 5 mounts can fire, starting at 30, which is enough to bounce shells with your belt while bow in.
@@Axel23410so? The 72k dpm stat is just as deceptive, since you're losing out on almost 18k dpm when outside that specific 15 degree firing angle. Which gives Marseille barely above 50k dpm 95% of the time, which is amazing for a cruiser but not nearly enough for a secondary build.
I tried most of these in PT server about 5 weeks ago. I did them in asymmetric because I figured that would give me the most use of secondaries. Nap was no brainer, but the T9&10 frogs had the next best, and I landed about 20% of my shells. Problem being the guns are so small, nearly all my dmg was from fires, not pens. I played it Schroder & Agir, at 15+% and 13+% respectively. Dmg was significantly better just because of the 1/4 pen. Last week Schroder on regular server (our team blown out) did just shy of 110K, but over 30K in secondary dmg + another 10K fires. Seem like a viable option to me.
Agreed for the Schroder, really working for me as well
I too have been having a lot of fun in the Schroder. The sheer amount of secondaries make it my top pick for a secondary cruiser. Yes Napoli is better, but you get the increased credits with the Schroder and the speed boost is reaaaaaaally nice.
Well yep scröder is useless without its gimmick secs it has nothing else goin for it
Because I run Sansonetti on Napoli, and I have him trained for Venezia, the secondaries on Venezia have been popping off at 9 km which is fun at the least. The buffed torp damage on italian cruisers is also welcome.
Also if you want to make marsielle more fun ditch the consumables reload for turret traverse and youll enjoy it a lot more considering it wont take 3 business days to preemptively lead your guns where you want them. On top of that in most of the situations you ran into the consumable reload wouldnt have helped you survive better the same way those two other one point skills do
Incidentally the range mod makes it comfier to play, as well.
@@BoxdHound I prefer mbrb just to up the firepower but range mod would help a lot with the dispersion
I recommend using Wichita with secondary build, basically benson turrets and its fairly accurate with 10km max range, fun for operations too
Eh, probably don’t, same issue as the Marseille, not worth speccing for the secondaries when you’re giving up a 3pt skill or aiming systems, for pathetic secondary accuracy.
Marseille is an awesome ship after the re work especially with Honore on board, its like a sky boat meets a BB
The thought process was "How do we promote brawling and get people to not sit at max range because everyone complains" and their bright idea, instead of making actual changes to the problems, was to make it seem like you could make secondary builds work on more than a handful of ships.
They should just give this skill a flat 20% secondary dispersion buff and give the 4 point skill that makes your reload faster the ramp up your dispersion decrease to 40% (while buffing the initial starting buff value for the bb ships by 10%)
Tbf together with the new bb skills there's more brawling going on than before. Of course it's still far from what it was some years ago (and theres still subs and cvs) and how it should be, but there is some improvement imo
They do need to incentive people brawling. At this point I would be OK with more magic "ship stronger/more HP" when within so many KM of an enemy. Maybe you take less fires or something. Anything to not punish people who push in, but not so much people can yolo/solo a team.
Scummy people breed scummy manoeuvres, this was done to make on doubloon ships. Pretty simple
Watxhed this live. Heck of a game PQ
The purpose of the secondary rework seems to promote the upcoming Michelangelo cruiser shipyard event (the design is kinda mental)...and the Napoli on the side to lure people in ;) - Napoli is fun.
Aside from the Napoli its not worth the sacrifice you have to make to get something out of them - true.
I think it also does make maybe agir and shit slightly better. The problem though is those cruisers suck anyways, so its not like it matters because they still arent worth playing.
I don't know I that I agree that long range cruiser secondaries are not worth it for anything but the Napoli and Michelangelo for all players. Remember there are a lot of players who cannot hit targets as reliably as PQ, but they will still get basically the same secondary performance. For those types of players, secondaries on the Schroeder or Marsielle might be a better investment.
@@snoboreddotcom Ägir lacks the accuracy with the secondaries. Still not like the old days. You get slapped anyway
@@matthewcasady6276 accuracy of the secondaries is a problem..even for worse palyers it issnt worth it. at least in my oppinion
Bruh btw my torp build yoshino is getting sec range buff on its 8 harugumo secs thats a lol
still tho i think the commander skill is useful on something like a schroder, simply because you can take the skill (and skip out on heavy AP or HP skill or whatever mildly useful 3 point skill), take the secondary range instead & then take accuracy module. you have the same secondary range as before, but much better accuracy. ur basically getting a 3 point, 7% dispersion skill, which is nice. tho on marseille personally i dont think its worth it probably..
yeah this is my rb farming line, regrinding it for no idea which time in total now but got x6 bonus stacked on it at the moment. purely because of secondaries on tier8/9. which is not to say i think these are super amazing, i'm just secondaries crazy...
need to retest secondary roon with lutjens when i can afford to retrain him to that. should be good...
heh i'd love to be a battleship secondaty main but the queues... ahhh the queues... i'll just grab a cruiser and play in half a minute instead
Personally I liked the upgrade on the Schroeder. However it does mess with your spotting range as your minimum upgraded spotting range is less than your secondary range!
I do wonder how much of an effect the new skill is going to have on the upcoming Michelangelo though!
If it got a slot 5 secondary Unique Upgrade, it would be pretty fun.
Oh hey look it's the guy who said Jinan is bad and not even a day later pq posts 2 games with 120k+ damage footage in under 13 minutes that shits all over that dog water take and all of a sudden he was nowhere to be seen 😂😂😂😂
Yo guys, Potato Quality posted two good games in Jinan, surely his winrate in the ship isn't 14% below his average at the tier right?
SURELY JINAN IS GOOD.
as other said the captain skill is for napoli and the incoming dockyard. it "could" be of some use on any cruiser with torp and a bit of secondary ( perfect for napoli)
Interesting, as my experience with Marseille is that it excels as an aggressive ship that can take a lot of damage, providing your positioning is good. Flanking or kiting is problem having all your guns up front.
You should try Plymouth Secondary build.
Not actually meta but a lot more entertaining than one would expect :D
i would take a dispersion buff before a range buff. this thing doesn't need more range, the secondaries are just there to defend your rear from opportunistic yolo's
I think if anything the skill rework is more suited to Ranked and Brawl where you have these quick 3-5min skirmishes with other ships rather than a 12v12 random battle
Last Worcester review was full AA spec but u didn't showcase a CV game. Could you do a Wooster video again with the new commander skills?
Maybe they could gave the range at 2-level torp skill (reduce it down to 5% or 10%) and secondary accuracy buff at current skill (10-20% without manual secondary mechanic maybe) while nerfing napoli, if they want to add more secondary cruisers
Very enjoyable content NOT_PQ.
At this point he's gonna try secondary jinan too
Secondary performance
Marseille - better accouracy but 23 mm pen. is too weak, only work at long range when the shells hit at superstructures.
Schroder - worse accouracy but can pen most of parts of the most ships she face in random battle, and will more performance if those secondary hit on bow or stern when facing any ships head on
If I rate these two ships's secondary, Schroder will be higher rank than Marseille.
Schlieffen's secondary's maxes out at 12.55km.
Thanks for the video. I love your potato content about WOW :). Can you try a full HE no concilment build on the Marseille ? (Like you did for the Henry, 2 years ago I believe). I use this build and I found out that it was the most fun :) and maybe in your hand, very interesting :)
I opposed this video about Marseille per taking a Secondary Build (per Commander and Upgrades) is a suicide.
You can see about secondary mounts aboard the ship is looking like a Nelson but I truly not sure on how it works does.
I recommend secondary Yoshino. 37mm pen (with ifhe) at 2.4s reload on 8 guns per broadside. It's amazing. Just trust me on this, it's not like i want more Yoshinos out there showing broadside to get their secondaries to fire.
I don't think this is a good idea, consider that you explode the second you try to brawl.
@@dzy061he is sarcastic.. of course it's stupid but people specking into it and get closer, they will be blown out of water.. (he said "it's not I like want... It's obvious potato trap)
My bet is: WG is planning to release a secondary-focused cruiser line with Napoli-esque dispersion that makes secondaries worthwhile. German large cruiser line maybe, or second italian cruiser line? Otherwise this skill's update doesn't really makes sense since it only affects a couple of ships, and only one in a meaningful manner
The fact that this buff came before BF and the Napoli's huge dubloon price...yeah...not a mistake.
I still think Schroeder is worth building into secondaries, I tried it after the buff and you can skip on concealment as the detection range with just the module is 11.3 and the secondary range is 12km, with the insane armor, I find myself pushing into two ships without issue and average 150k damage after the new skills. Also although the accuracy is not as good as Napoli, the pen is better than Napoli, meaning the overall dpm is just slightly lower compared to Napoli. And for a tier 9, that’s pretty much all you could ask for. Could you please make a full video the it?
I set mine up this way too
I also tried it on Marsille.....was disappointed. The buff all secondaries need is not range but accuracy!
I would disagree with you on Shroederer...it can work on that ship simply because of the shere volume of shells and improved penetration. But I agree sec. accuracy needs to be buffed.
I’m sorry I’m confused, 1 dead Dd and a total of 63k damage if u can count the fires 🔥 and it’s not good value ??
Schorroder is just a Mfking power house with that skill, just push with some cover and let the sec do the job for you, but that is ranked or brawls
I think the roon wpuld be interesting, if all cruisers could get buffed accuracy
Did this change restore Siegfried to its original state? It was sold as a secondary cruiser then after commander rework was hit hard.
Sadly no. Seigfried is worse than Marseille for a secondary build, you can make it work but it's less than ideal. Seigfried has standard secondary cruiser dispersion which is incredibly disappointing as it was originally marketed as a secondaries cruiser. At 8km Seig's secondary dispersion is 486m while Marseille's is 294m and Napoli is 198m. Seig should have it's secondaries accuracy buffed to AT LEAST Maeseille's level, if not Napoli's.
Now we only need to see Michelangelo with the secondary build. 1:00
Honestly the new skill seems a complete waste of time. They should buff the accuracy of most of these (the t9 germans, Mars, etc.) so it's useful in more than literally one ship.
Secondary Clausewitz?
Marseille is my daily drive at T10 with secondary built.
So yeah, @PT.. not so good on this ship as at tier it is way under armored to push, but, I rather enjoyed the Toulon with secondary build as it is better armored for t7, massive range, less accurate but just so many guns with good angles, yous till hit a lot.. fun, but not practical most time unless you fight a lot of light cruisers and dd's
Roon sec. Build? 12 km , some 150mm secondaries
but schroder has the volume dude and he has commander lutjen ^^
azuma one take?
Napoli secondary build is soo noice...unless you're facing it. It's made the ship fun to play. Biggest issue playing top tier is making $$$. Doesnt seem to matter, top on the dmg list -$$$ WOWS without prem is a joke. added 160% income booster to the nap and made a profit of 20k. Thats with 160k dmg win. i play mid tiers because of that. Im not going to be forced to put real money into a game that ignores the entire community.
Hey, try secondary Petropavlovsk
Is anyone else having trouble targeting your secondaries? Mine bugged this update and I cant Ctrl-clk onto anyone.
I haven't had that problem myself.
Do you use mods? I think certain mods conflict and cause that secondary target bug. I think its the ship heading mod
Just the official one. Maybe I'll try Uninstalling them. Thanks
i really want to think that WG only improved the range of the cruiser secondaries because they wanted to see how certain ships would perform before making another change, just imagine if WG had added a accuracy buff in the same skill, Napoli would literally crush everything on it's path, but welp, we can just wait and see...
Hopefully they just buff cruiser secondaries to have good accuracy (excluding Napoli ofc) instead of the buff to the skill, that way we stop buffing the pasta ship lol
I bet they end up nerfing Napoli at some point in the future. I don't see how anyone can consider her to be a balanced ship in her current state with this new upgrade.
Try secondary Carnot pls
So it's not actually worth it right? I ran out of gold to reset my commander skill, again
Why you used gold, when skill reset was for free?
@@Zephyrus88PL i think i redownload the game a little bit too late
Feel sad@@reeizz114
Roon has good 2nds
Peeves me off that every time WG muck with in game commanders, I have to "RE-Pay" 500 dubs to re -apply my special commanders to my non premium ships ! So Annoying :(
Still valid now ?
Waiting for king of the seas with these BC charging in smoke at you....
the marseille line is probably the most disappointing tech tree line they've released in recent memory. Big guns, but really inaccurate so you have to get close, but also shit armor, so you're squishy and want to stay at range. It doesn't know what it wants to be and is bad at it all. To cap it off, the Marseille can't even use all its guns bow in, which is kind of the point of having all your guns in front you would think.
I use this shit as a fire starter. AP seems to suck
That poor shikashima
and we have to much sec ship right now. Almost every crusier and BB know have over sec...
You crazy.....still fun....
Wait.. what.. you DON'T recommend secondaries on the Schroder? Are you ... just what...
Bruh no you are missleading and are wrong if you take dispersion mod instead of secondary range AND 20% DISPERSION. And at that point hybrid build went out the window since secondaries are useless without the sec range/dispersion mod
also marseille sec angles are really weird
They're good enough imo.
You can actually get all of them firing while still having enough of an angle to bounce shells on your belt.
Also if you are in a kiting position you also have an additional triple turret able to fire.
Is anyone really using secondary builds anymore? They haven't been that viable in a long time. Even German BBs just die shortly after pushing in to HE and torpedo spam.
Are you nuts ? Secondary build with marseig ????
If you've ever played this ship competently youve probably ran into a situation where you can grind down a bb or a cruiser while kiting away and your secondaries casually eviscerate a dd who mistakenly thinks you're defenseless . Naturally everyone starts to think how could this become better?
It actually has Massachusets secondary accuracy.
you talking about cruiser secondaries and i find myself disgusted by the gameplay of CV spotting and obnoxious sub ruining any chance of fun.
Re aiming bugs: there is, and has been since 2017, a HACK that also increases enemy dispersion, using the consumable modifier system and injecting packets. It used to only work on a very small number of ships with the right IDs but at some point they broke everything and this mod works on every ship now. So when you see all your shots shotgun, rather than the usual up/down grouping against a specific ship, consistently? That's a cheater.
