Hi Ollie just wondering if you knew anything about the proposed UKFP 2024 changes and if they are going ahead? i'm sure there will be a video but I can't find anything on it.
I looked at it fairly recently Chris and I don't think we know unfortunately. I would bet that the proposed changes will happen (likely motivated by £ more than anything else) but no assurance yet

Who are junior doctors ?
Are speciality doctors are termed as junior doctors?
It's complicated Dr Hussain. In the UK the term 'junior doctors' refers to anyone who is in a formal training programme but is not a consultant. It would include for example Foundation doctors (year 1 and 2 interns), and all specialty registrars, even those very close to becoming consultants.
It does not include GPs, either types of SAS doctor (Specialty Doctors and Specialists), or often so-called locally employed or non-training doctors, who might be working as SHOs or middle grades outside of a formal training programme.
Hi Ollie thanks for the informative video
I want to ask you please I am a medical student aspiring to pursue my medical training in the uk taking into account the current circumstances of doctors in the nhs do you think it’s worth pursuing it (maybe positive change in the future) as I am trying to make a decision between the uk and several other places
Hi there. I think have an out. UK medical training is still considered valuable in the global market, but I would 100% recommend considering exams like the USMLE during medical school. What are your other options?
@@OllieBurtonMed thank you for your reply
I’m actually between the uk and Germany and I’ll be graduating from medical school next year so I’m trying to make a decision so that I can start preparing for the process
@@OllieBurtonMed Hi Ollie, has there been any update on the situation with the UK degree no longer being recognised in the US in the future?
I think it's been fixed now actually - video soon.
2 view early awesome
You just need to stop putting patients at risk now and give up
The evidence suggests that junior doctor strikes have a very mild, if any, impact on patient mortality. In many cases it goes down.
1 in 7 UK trained doctors have already left. How many will leave for easier times, and better pay if you keep paying us 26% less than we were paid in 2008?
I'd have earnt 75% of my mortgage more in Australia if i had worked there from day1. The consultant wage is down 30%+ too. My kids will really enjoy the beaches in OZ/NZ, schools are good, climate is good, food is good, wine is good, pay is good, less hours is good.
Convince us to stay?
@@OllieBurtonMed no strike for what you deserve. The government need to sort itself out!
No it's difficult to become a doctor, so they should be getting paid as a plumber simples.
How many other public sector industries have kept up with inflation? You guys are just delusional. This isn't the private sector. This is all paid for through taxation. You guys don't have a clue.
