I’ve made a cashew based vegan cheese sauce for my non-vegan family, and it got ate up! Good is good, including vegan. I haven’t tried the potato variety (some even use carrots), but I will. How deeply have you gone into the ethical aspect of veganism? Indeed, I agree that vegan IS an ethical disposition, while healthy wfpb is the food/diet aspect. If the ethics are locked in, all temptation to hold onto old patterns will dissipate. What we do to animals for meat, dairy and cheese is absolutely appalling.

@Cheryl I just saw a RUclips video last night using the vegan lactic acid to make cheese. I bet this would take my cheese sauce to the next level! My guess is the powdered nuts are like the powdered peanut butter. I heard Chef AJ say she uses the Almond powder to make her Almond milk. Great tip! 😀
@@chickpeaslentils1581 you will need much less vegan lactic acid than than lemon juice or vinegar, tsp or 2 NOT tablespoons! Also, I add a pinch of nutmeg to all things creamy and oddly all dark leafy greens even cabbage it leaves no nutmeg taste but boosts dairy taste and removes bitterness from greens, and smell from cabbage.
Niw for the JOI? I thought powder too, but no - its finely ground super concentrated, almond or cashew to the point it looks like a thinner organic peanut butter! Not a powder its wild it has no preservatives but is shelf stable a year even if opened! And I love making nut milks no straining and a cup or a quart super easy and handy. As buying plant milk in store is crazy priced and may kt use it all! I love your channel, I don't have the nerve to video myself lol, so I have nothing but a small page on fb called Star Muse's WFPB NO Creations, you are welcome to borrow change tweak anything for yourself anytime! My WFPB NO path started due to being disagnosed with kidney disease.
@@cherylshort5005 thanks so much for the tips. I'm eager to try the vegan lactic acid.
6oyr cheese sauces look bomb!💚🌱🌿🌱💚
You can add tapioca starch and heat it up and it will be good for quesadilla and sandwiches
@MJ that's a great idea. I've used tapioca starch before. Thanks for stopping by.
Who knew to use potato flakes! Genius
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it.😃
In viewing many videos for vegan nacho cheese this different!
Let me know if you decide to make it. It's sooo good!!😃
Hi ,Any substitute for Potato itself?
YES! You can use cauliflower. I have an Alfredo sauce video coming this week. I use cauliflower and potato flakes but you can definitely leave out the potato flakes. Thanks for stopping by!😀
You can also use white beans. This changes the flavor but it's still really good.
Mine has no flavor what can I add for salty
Welcome to my channel! I would definitely add salt. Dairy😀 cheese is salty. Add as little or as much as needed.
Did you add the taco seasoning?
I’ve made a cashew based vegan cheese sauce for my non-vegan family, and it got ate up! Good is good, including vegan. I haven’t tried the potato variety (some even use carrots), but I will.
How deeply have you gone into the ethical aspect of veganism? Indeed, I agree that vegan IS an ethical disposition, while healthy wfpb is the food/diet aspect. If the ethics are locked in, all temptation to hold onto old patterns will dissipate. What we do to animals for meat, dairy and cheese is absolutely appalling.
Can you freeze this?
I have never tried freezing it. I make a fresh batch every week. If you decide to freeze it, let me know how it turned out.
Not sure if anyone asked or not, but how it is heated up?
@Heaven I microwave it in 30 sec increments. I also have a small crock pot designed for sauces. I use this if I'm serving it to a group. Of course you can heat it on the stove on low using a non stick pot is best. It may thicken after refrigeration. Simply add a splash of plant based milk. Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by!😀
I hate the taste I have nutritional yeast is there anything I can do in place of that or could I leave it out?
@Jane I would try increasing the cashews to 1/2c and add some white miso or marmite, 1tsp for that umami flavor if omitting the nutritional yeast. Let me know how turns out.
@@chickpeaslentils1581 thanks so much ! I really appreciate it
Wht gives it the 🧀 look?
Thanks for stopping by. I think it's the ingredients plus the high-speed blender.
Cute name!
@Merry thanks! Two of my favorite legumes. 😀
👍🏾
But the potato flakes have milk in them.
Just checked my box. No milk listed in the ingredients.
It is sort of hard to see anything when your arm and hand are in the way of the camera.
Sorry about that Mary. It's really nothing to see. It's a simple dump and blend recipe.
Will be making this soon...I need better cheeze-cheeze sauce!😋
@Yolanda let me know how it turns out. Thanks for stopping by.😀
Potatoes have a high glycemic index, and it’s what puts that weight on. Try using chickpea flour instead.
Welcome to my channel. Gaining weight from eating potatoes has not been my experience. I looooove potatoes. I eat lots of them all the time. Everyone's journey is different. You must live accordingly. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel.

I always dislike every recipe with vinegar of every kind ...otherwise looks good
You can definitely leave it out or use lemon juice.
Cheese literally has what's called caseomorphine. Cheese it's addictive for that reason. Once I started calling it coagulated cow titty juice, I started geting grossed out by it. Lol
I'm going to have to try this.
😆Straight no chaser!
