Exploring a Fantastic Abandoned Split Level House in Clarington, Ontario

  • Big thank you to Canucks747 for providing the location for this xplore
The property that this house sits on is absolutely huge and beautiful, and I am sure in its hay day, kids and family loved to walk around and explore plant life and it had to have had its fair share of wild life.
The thing I love about split level houses is that you never grasp the size until you're inside.
This house seems to have been built sometime in the early 80ès judging by the design and decorating choices. And the people who lived here to me didn't have F-U money, but they were pretty well off. I gauge this by some of the very cool add ons...the small indoor pont, the walk in cold room, the row of beer fridges at the bar and of course the hot tub with adjoining change room area. The vaulted ceilings and the upper fireplace and lower wood burning stove were also pretty cool. I really think the refrigeration unit for the cold roof was customer made as well.
There was substantial damage through out, and clearly a vandal decided to do some repainting around. BUt I guess on a more positive note, some things did appear to have been either stole or salvaged from the house, hence, not in a land fill.
You will hear a loud bang inside the house near the end, which did kind of freak me out a bit and I left shortly after.
Thank you for watching! PLease support my channel by sharing, commenting, subscribing and liking. You can follow me on Twitter @DaaDeeOh and also on Facebook at DaaDeeOhès Urbex.
If you have a location you would like me to explore on your behalf, let me know and if I can get to it I will give you full credit for the find in the video description.
Thank you all again for your continued support.

Michelle Evans used to clean this house years ago...a real nice older couple lived here and had a nice family too...believe they built the house way back for their family. Too bad they lost it to the highway work. That house was their life. It was decorated typically like the 80's....cant believe that its still the same wallpaper and stuff in there after all this time.

    • @michelleevans5531

It is sad that houses have to go because people want a highway or progression. At least you had time to know the family.

Yes, houses today just get smaller and smaller, slapped together with sticks and plastic, and yet they cost 3 times more than the well made, spacious homes of yesteryear.

      @TheRedPillNews 7 лет назад +1

That doesn't look like vandals did that to me , it looks like the residents did it out of anger of being kicked out. Vandals would of done much more damage than that.

It’s about money, and travel time. Not being able to get to it for a few months turns into years. You can keep the taxes paid. But if no one in the family goes there...next thing it’s considered abandoned, and a worry to the neighbours.

Cristal M, for some reason there is no reply button on your comment?? And I cant seem to figure why. So here is my reply to you ))
I love the positive feed back, please enjoy them, I you watch them all you will see growth in my videography and equipment that I use from the time I started to now.
To answer your question, I do get scared sometimes, the bumps the creeks, the unexplainable that occurs from time to time, but I really want to footage, so I press on. I do explore alone, but maybe one day, that could change. ) Many thanks for your comment)

No reply button means crystal hit disable replies, when she commented. If you put your curser in the top right corner of your comment section. A down arrow appears, and a box drops down. The options in the box are different from replying to someones, and from one you typed yourself. Hope this helps :)

I couldn't go exploring houses only to see them torn down later it would break my heart. I watched a video on one house Adam the Woo did that I stumbled on by accident which started my abandoned home crazy and fell in love with the house it was filmed a few years back. I searched and found out that it was the William Howey house in Florida and it's being restored I literally cried because I had such an emotional connection with that house just from a video was the weirdest thing! But anyway don't stop doing what u do there is definitely a beauty in this! Glad I stumbled upon you I'm subscribing.

What a gorgeous house and the property is fabulous! I wonder what happened to the owners? Why did they leave? I guess we will never know( highway expansion as I read down below) It's spacious and what I can see from your video it's tastefully decorated for an 80's type of decorating style. I could get lost in a house like that! What do you think the square footage of that house was? 3000 square feet? Just a very one of a kind house! Thank you Daadeeoh for another amazing video. BTW that noise at the end of the video was frightening. I am glad you had an escape route close by! Who knows what that could of been?! Be safe and this year has been a whole lot more interesting because of the amazing videos that you produce and allow us You tubers to experience! Happy Holidays. Take care!

I hope that by now someone has purchased this property and fixed it up. I love split levels as well. Although with the price of utilities in Ontario they might have had to go solar or a bit of wind and be self sustaining or something. It is truly sad the amount of abandoned homes all over the world. People clamoring to be able to live somewhere and beautiful properties just rotting away or being vandalized.

Wow so sorry to read that this great house was destroyed to make room for the highway extension.
Seemed like a great place to live. What I particularily liked about it is the fact that it wasn't totally ransacked by copper thieves.
I mean sure, a few kids went in there found paint gallons and splashed the walls and floors with them but nothing that couldn't be fixed.

I wonder why they left the property??
It almost looks like a place we were going to buy a few years back I don't think it is though.
That almost give me the foreclosure vibe, somethings are vandalized but some things were removed with care and with plans on reusing.
Also it appears that none of the copper has been stolen.

How do you find these abandoned homes? I remember coming across one purely by accident one day, just a off bike trail. Explored it with a friend, who insisted on going inside. She'd been in many abandoned homes growing up in the country in North Michigan. That was my first exploration of an abandoned home.

+DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration That's a sad story. I lived in an old farmhose when having my kids. Two were born while living there. My life didn't go as I thought it would. We were on the farm almost 10 years. That was more than 30 years ago. It's still standing, built in 1902. Not much done to it since built. One man and his wife bought it and have been the only ones and still live there. But I wonder what will happen later? There's so many, many memories and growth marks for each child of ours. Good that she will have pics to still see it. I gotta stop or I will be in tears pretty soon.

More of a raised ranch than a split level, since the front door is on the upper floor and the only mid-level portion is the garage.

I'm surprised no one has stolen anything, like the water heater. What's that big hole in the carpeted room that looks like a fire pit? What a nice wood stove. Can you send it to me? How much would you charge?

The one part almost looks like a hospital setting,( I think it might be the basement) one part was a doctor's office and the other part the main house.I could be wrong but it looks like that to me.
