He doesnt own the place it was sold to Paul Monea about 99-2000 which was purchased with stolen money. The feds then took down Monea for money fraud and the house sat untouched. As of this current moment recent reports say the house has been resold and is currently undergoing renovations INCLUDING NEW POOL WATER ;)
Indeed. the structure itself was in good shape when it got sold (I believe a real estate investor for out of state brought it). Must been a near mortage payment to heat place in the winter months.
There’s actually a fairly fascinating backstory to this dilapidated mansion, which hasn’t even belonged to Tyson since the late nineties (hence the decor straight out of a Scorsese mob movie). More recently, it belonged to a businessman named Paul Monea, who got rich hawking TaeBo workout tapes with Billy Blanks. He used some of that TaeBo money to buy Tyson’s old Ohio mansion for $1.3 million. Then things went bad for Monea. You see one of Paul’s prize possessions was this gigantic, 40-carat diamond. Eventually, Paul decided he wanted to sell both the diamond and the house. He was approached by a buyer who was very interested in both, and who had the money to do something about it, but he told Paul his money was drug money. Paul basically said to the guy, “I don’t want to know where you got your money, and what do I care if it’s drug money?” They go ahead and make the deal. Well, almost. Turns out the man was actually an FBI agent doing what I, as a non-lawyer, believe is a textbook example of entrapment. Paul went to jail, his assets were seized, and now this mansion stands lonely and empty, seemingly haunted by the ghosts of parties past.
@@fraudsarentfriends4717 what the other guy said, because it's cool. Also, it makes it more of a landmark and identifies its history. I believe even the church that is there left Mike Tyson's name on the gate
@@robloxvids2233 Many wealthy people that can afford such a place don't really think Mike Tyson is cool. Not everyone is a boxing fan. It's just tacky looking to them.
This is an awesome video! This is definitely a 1980's mansion as you can tell by the decor. I'm not to crazy on the zebra pattern carpets but there's a lot about this place that I like.
I am not sure if just anyone can walk in this house or if it has to be setup with some type of agency but there is a lot of expensive stuff that can be tore up and resold. The Marble is one of them....
I have trouble believing the pool isn't more evaporated than it is--even so, a large surface of water like that, unless managed, can wreak havoc on the structure of the building--it'd always be humid and musty. Indoor pools are usually regretted by those who purchase them.
Samantha Furch no it is the nostalgic of that era. I was in my 20’s but I would actually ask Mr Tyson if he would help with telling what is missing or how it was.
Mike Tyson - consuming wealth upon himself. What is wealth unless it is shared with graciousness, kindness and humility? Wealth is a good thing in the right hands and a dangerous or foolish weapon in the wrong hands.
Mike Tyson probably had people telling him to "buy this" and "buy that" just so they could take him for his last penny. I think wealth should be put to use. Wealth not used is wasted just as surely as if you threw it at the sky.
Had Mike Tyson still been in possession, at the height of his success and invited the commenters below plus four to a party there I wonder how many would have refused? It's funny how things are more attractive when someone's successful.

It's a pentacostal church now called Living World Sanctuary. They bought it and the congregation did a lot of their own work to renovate it. It took them over four years to complete. The pool is now where they have their services. I'm guessing the minister (or whatever pentacostals called their leader), lives there. The tiger cages are now a pavillion. There's a guy who couldn't handle success. It happens a lot to pro athletes. They spend their whole young lives preparing to be a success in their sport, and have no idea how to deal with the tiger once they really catch it. some figure it out before it's too late, but sadly and all too often, many if not most, do not. There are far too many, rags to riches, to rags stories throughout professional sports. In the end he became the person he should have been at the height of his career. The peak earning years are extremely short in most pro sports, and you only get one chance to get your finances and personal life together within that short span of time. Regret reigns supreme among these folks, but most will never say that in public. They will say, that getting it right under the circumstances of that time and place in their lives, is much like getting lucky enough to catch lightening in a bottle.
62636263c Apparently you don't understand what happened with this piece of property, or how Mike Tyson had the foresight to have someone help him with his finances. Mike Tyson was not the last owner of this property and did not let it go un-kept and fall into disrepair.
Jeremiah Mckenna I'm pretty certain of that. Just stating how these things go as far as pro athletes are concerned. Not really focusing on the house per say. When it comes to properties, many went vacant from 2008 thru 2012 for many reasons.
62636263c look a shaq all his houses are nice... this one was just sold... but it was bought with fraudulent money and so it went to the feds for a while.. now its under new owners im pretty sure.
+62636263c Roughly 75% of pro athletes go broke at some point after their careers are over. It's gotten so bad that even the NFL makes rookies attend a sort of course finances, living well within your means, and figuring out what you want to do after football. Part of it's that these guys think all of that money is going to last forever even though most pro sports careers only last a few years. Part of it's animal instinct in that the more money one has, the more money they spend.
Well it’s a neat and clean I would imagine someone is taking care of it since it’s been abandoned for 11 years it doesn’t look bad for being abandoned somebody’s taking care of it.
Tyson sold it many years ago. The buyer got into legal trouble and all of his assets (including the mansion) wear sized. It pretty much sat in limbo for many years; meanwhile getting damage done to it (chairs in the pool, broken glass) Finally, it fell into someones hands and they wear able to fix it up (the structure was in pretty good shape) and put it on the market. I believe it has sold. That must be a high heating bill come winter months.
As with most houses in this situation - Tyson PROBABLY owes more than the house is worth - a lot more - so he simply walked away from it. And the bank puts these houses on the very back burner - because they will spend THOUSANDS $$$ getting it ready to sell - and it could take YEARS to sell it - (monthly upkeep- mow grass, etc) so the bank looses MORE money!!! So the bank will simply let it sit there until good times for selling houses come around again - or someone asks about it!!!!!! Since the bank does not care about the house - they also do not care for it - and they will ALWAYS try to get what they have in the house - and a few bucks for their troubles!!!!! And USUALLY with houses like this - you will either get a GREAT deal - are you will ALMOST buy the house for the listed price - which includes a nice profit for the lazy bank!!!! Sometimes you'll get a bargain - but rarely!!!! I've seen a $4 million house in Houston - sit dead empty for 11 years - until the neighbors demanded it either be torn down or fixed - as it was a eye sore!!!! After a few more years in court - someone bought it for a song - paid $775,000 for a house that 15 years earlier sold for $4.2 million!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOTTA interior work!!!!!!!!!! (best time to buy an abondoned house - when the bank goes to court about it)!!!!!!!
I use to live in West Farmington 5 minutes away. I think he bought it in 1989. He doubled the size of the house after he bought it. I think it sits on 60 acres. It's the only mansion around, it's not a rich neighborhood. I'd like to know how you got in to take pictures. It's so outdated. After sitting so long it would need to be gutted. You'd put more money in it then it's worth.
When I went to school, 2019-1999 was 20 years, not 11. Even if it's just 11, it's in amazing shape. What an absolutely gorgeous house from top to bottom. Did he lose it for taxes or what?
Amazing how many homeless who could've lived here & took care up upkeep or renovations if they looked for qualified caring people in such a case. Basically disrespectful for some wealthy people to have no concern for some sort of good cause / intent in relation to just letting their properties go uncared for/unoccupied for so long.
Why is it still abandoned? LOCATION is one reason. The inside looks like it was designed by 'Baby-Doc Duvalier' with all that gawdy 'African' decorating.
Mike Tyson is the youngest Heavy Weight Champ of the WORLD . He will hold that record forever . I have ran into the champ twice now . Once at Chuckee Cheese and the other at Village Pub . He is to me and many that know him a class act . We became friends and i for one know he is a great guy and is very family oriented . Heres to the Champ !
This place is in Southington, Ohio. It was sold at a sheriffs auction for 600,000. It is being renovated into a place of worship, for Sunday school and what not.
the exterior and grounds are beautiful... The interior would be gutted all the way down to the studs - redesigned and sold for big bucks... Like when Hammers house was sold...
The Lord just showing us all, seek the kingdom of God 1st,having all that beauty didnt mean a thang,Be graceful for the smallest, you need about a 100 maids for all that cleaning!
Yeah, because instead we should have homes like all those thieving evangelical christians, scamming people out of their savings to support their lifestyles of excess. Fuck religion, fuck your god
Every smartass comment on here is made by someone too stupid to do a simple search and see that Mike Tyson sold this house to a criminal. The story continues, but as human beings it would not hurt any of us to have the decency to simply enjoy the video for what it is and as everyone here as likely heard, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything.
Oh thank you Almighty moral compass! Did you ever think that when people makes fun of someone like Mike Tyson, maybe Mike Tyson brought it upon himself? I mean it's not like Mike Tyson is going to be bullied, right? Save your high-and-mighty bullshit for a video worthwhile of your wise commentary.
I love the pool area, although the cloudy water makes me think of bodies bloating... You could write an entire cliched Creepypasta type story just based on these pictures. When I was 16 I would've gone wild riffing creative-writing-wise off of these photos. I do wish the music would continue throughout instead of just stopping 2/3 in. It ruined my eerie mood. Then it just looked like some real estate broker's video of a property up for sale. But, still cool. Did you take these pics yourself, or did someone else take them and allow you to use them?
The fact that one person got to live in such a large and luxurious place while many have no place at all to call home speaks volumes about what is wrong with us.
So should the government have pried the money from Tyson's hands and forced him to build barracks for the poor on his land instead of his own home? Seriously?
CrisVangel1958 The many many people it took to build this and the many many people that manufactured the materials were glad to have work so they could feed their families! JS
CrisVangel1958 tyson grew up in a foster home and he worked his ass off to live like that. He knew what it was like to have nothing at all. He deserved to have this house and alot 3 more just like it.
I don't care for the guy at all and have been disgusted by him for a long time but so many of you are talking about his poor taste and his conspicuous consumption and on and on..... People who live in glass houses should not case stones. When you point a finger at a person, there are 4 pointed back at you...Let it go...don't y'all have something better to do ?
This was just one of many homes he owned and doubt he shed a tear the day he walked away from it. 50 Cent bought another one of his mansions as seen on the TV show Cribs
It's funny how a comment section full of people that couldn't afford to buy this house even if they combined all of their money could have anything to say.
Before I watched this, I had a mental list of what I would see. I expected archways, animal print, his name in a few places, artificial plants, indoor pool, and tick, tick, tick to each of these monuments to poor taste and too much money. Can anyone say, "tacky"?
Steve Gould Do you often build mental pictures of people who make youtube comments? Is it a sexual fantasy type thing? If so, you draw a very disturbing picture of what turns you on. Or, do you particularly like Mike Tyson's idea of good interior design?
Man this creeps me out big time. Just to think that at one time this place was probably teaming with life pussy drugs and music and now it stands empty and abandoned. CREEPY STUFF 😨

Jeremiah Mckenna
I'm pretty certain of that.

Roughly 75% of pro athletes go broke at some point after their careers are over.
Black Sunshine
All true, and then some.
I would love to live there and clean it up
Marie Mieger go ahead
All I know is when a place is empty, like this it really shows you that materialistic things absolutely mean nothing,
Well it’s a neat and clean I would imagine someone is taking care of it since it’s been abandoned for 11 years it doesn’t look bad for being abandoned somebody’s taking care of it.
WTF is with this music, I expect vikings to come pillaging around every corner
So sad something so beautiful wasting
It could be a home for children
Mike Tyson HUNGRY.
Looks as though the plants were trying to get away.
Tyson sold it many years ago. The buyer got into legal trouble and all of his assets (including the mansion) wear sized. It pretty much sat in limbo for many years; meanwhile getting damage done to it (chairs in the pool, broken glass)
Finally, it fell into someones hands and they wear able to fix it up (the structure was in pretty good shape) and put it on the market.
Hey I live in a one bedroom log cabin, and have an above ground pool. I'm happy.
Just what I want
Money doesn't buy taste...
I know hey, what an ugly house, especially the carpet
money buys everything. trust me
I bet it smells musty inside. The property holder should of drained the pool.
I've seen pics with the pool completely drained..
As they say "Location, location, location" .... clearly Tyson never heard this saying
I have a mansion, forget the price.
Ain't never seen it, they tell me its nice.
Philip Jones.. I live in hotels tear out the walls I have accountants pay for it all! Haha very funny
Yeah....that's what Iron Mike said while he spent 3 years at his "timeshare" in Indiana LOL.
Like that statement so true
I’d hate to be the one to tell him the state of his property:/
Ha.. I got a LIMO ride in the back.. I lock the doors in case I'm attacked..
Such a shame he didn't have a clue how to handle his finances
Too much, too soon.
thanks for putting this back up
Amazing how many homeless who could've lived here & took care up upkeep or renovations if they looked for qualified caring people in such a case. Basically disrespectful for some wealthy people to have no concern for some sort of good cause / intent in relation to just letting their properties go uncared for/unoccupied for so long.
It’s theirs to do as they please because it’s their property. This ain’t communism.
Why the fuck do you abandon this?!
did you see the decor.. i would abandon this place also.. :P
Why is it still abandoned? LOCATION is one reason. The inside looks like it was designed by 'Baby-Doc Duvalier' with all that gawdy 'African' decorating.
Not abandoned anymore as of a year ago friends
Yay
Pete Mangum lol
Hickland Productions and I bet the inside doesn't look like that anymore!!
Pete Mangum hooray for a Haitian reference but there are plenty of other references you could've used with an actual African person
Beautiful home! Thank you for the grand tour! 🙏😎
Its a Beautiful Property. Need Some Updates But its Lovely
It Should Be Turned into Something Useful
Mike Tyson is the youngest Heavy Weight Champ of the WORLD . He will hold that record forever . I have ran into the champ twice now . Once at Chuckee Cheese and the other at Village Pub . He is to me and many that know him a class act . We became friends and i for one know he is a great guy and is very family oriented . Heres to the Champ !
am i the only on who feels the music is creepy
Hey!,I thought I saw an ear floating in the pool!
Bombasticbuster that was his cherished memento from the victor Hollifield fight! it used to be in a glass case with a plaque and everything LOL
+DUSTERDUDE238 Evander not Victor....Holyfield not Hollifield. Just saying.
same here thought i saw that
Bombastic Buster careful the walls have ears
😱👂🤣🤣
Should be turned into something useful for the community.
This place is in Southington, Ohio. It was sold at a sheriffs auction for 600,000. It is being renovated into a place of worship, for Sunday school and what not.
PrepperWorkShop Do you always make up stupid remarks that have absolutely zero fact?
the exterior and grounds are beautiful...
Yes I agree
Yeah, because instead we should have homes like all those thieving evangelical christians, scamming people out of their savings to support their lifestyles of excess. Fuck religion, fuck your god
Why is he not living there? Donate it to me.
Give me the house
Every smartass comment on here is made by someone too stupid to do a simple search and see that Mike Tyson sold this house to a criminal. The story continues, but as human beings it would not hurt any of us to have the decency to simply enjoy the video for what it is and as everyone here as likely heard, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything.
Forward Fortune
Forward Fortune I think it’s pretty but that’s just me
Oh thank you Almighty moral compass! Did you ever think that when people makes fun of someone like Mike Tyson, maybe Mike Tyson brought it upon himself? I mean it's not like Mike Tyson is going to be bullied, right? Save your high-and-mighty bullshit for a video worthwhile of your wise commentary.
Wonder if it still smells like rape in there?
Chris Helms I was gonna tell him to FO but I think you just did it for me
Nice place! Much wood - I like that. Hope this house would be restored. Poor Mike!
Seriously?
CrisVangel1958 dumb, do something and get your own place to live. Want everyone to have the same move to a commie country, n. Korea.
vey trueindeed i live nowhere
CrisVangel1958 The many many people it took to build this and the many many people that manufactured the materials were glad to have work so they could feed their families! JS
CrisVangel1958 tyson grew up in a foster home and he worked his ass off to live like that. He knew what it was like to have nothing at all. He deserved to have this house and alot 3 more just like it.
This is little more than a conspicuous display of wealth; so typical of a poor boy made rich!
I don't care for the guy at all and have been disgusted by him for a long time but so many of you are talking about his poor taste and his conspicuous consumption and on and on..... People who live in glass houses should not case stones. When you point a finger at a person, there are 4 pointed back at you...Let it go...don't y'all have something better to do ?
im gonna squat there
+IKE GRIZZLY If you are going to squat remember to douche first.
ExclusiveLM hahaaa. I dont got a twat tho....enema
get a job and home squatter trash!
Right, there's places like this and I live in a dump and there are soon many people worse off with NO where to go...but this place sits empty...
This was just one of many homes he owned and doubt he shed a tear the day he walked away from it. 50 Cent bought another one of his mansions as seen on the TV show Cribs
Well Mike knew what it was like to come from the gutter. He went to the top and now middle class.
It's funny how a comment section full of people that couldn't afford to buy this house even if they combined all of their money could have anything to say.
***** I can afford it
+NFS1970 ok
+BG Randolph i have something to say..." fuck you"
+gooni goo goo ok. Fucking lame.
+BG Randolph get your head out off your ass
That house is just as tacky as Mike Tyson. Doesn't matter how much money some people have, you can't give them class.
Before I watched this, I had a mental list of what I would see. I expected archways, animal print, his name in a few places, artificial plants, indoor pool, and tick, tick, tick to each of these monuments to poor taste and too much money. Can anyone say, "tacky"?
I have a mental picture of you.
Are you overweight, with weird hair, hobbit-like feet and in need of a a manicure?
+Steve Gould Is that the kind of woman you like?
Steve Gould
Do you often build mental pictures of people who make youtube comments? Is it a sexual fantasy type thing? If so, you draw a very disturbing picture of what turns you on. Or, do you particularly like Mike Tyson's idea of good interior design?
That is too beautiful of a mansion to be left abandoned
That indoor pool area is gorgeous.
