I like seeing things like this. I can't tell you how many times I have heard the words "You can do anything you want as long as you put your mind to it" But the thing is, I can't. It's ok that I can't do some things. I have learned to be ok with that. But no amount of putting my mind to it is going to allow me to pursue my dream job witch was a trauma surgeon. People try to hide the fact that there are problems that occur when you are disabled to make you feel better and not feel so bad about it but I think that we need to talk about this stuff more often instead of tiptoeing around it like talking about it is a big no no. We are disabled. We can't do some things. That's ok. Took me a long time to figure that out and it should not be that way.
Exactly! It’s fine that we can’t do some things. However, when it comes to a dream job, I think most people want to do things they can’t, even able-bodied people. Like, who wouldn’t like to be an astronaut? 😂 I think I’d like to be a paramedic or a firefighter, if I wasn’t disabled, but it doesn’t mean that I would actually be one. So I’m not mad about it. It also may be that our interests would be completely different if we weren’t disabled so maybe, if you weren’t disabled, you would dream of pursuing a career that you’ll have now when you’re disabled, if you know what I mean 😅

I open locks too with my mouth here at home.
But sometimes, I put a small rag over it , to mitigate agains germs .
That's a great idea! Locks that I have at home are accessible for me, but I have problems with locks in public or rented places.
