a method I used to figure the output I was getting to the sensor (of voltage) is to measuredirectly at the connection of the sensor with the sensor disconnected of course and the voltmeter on DC … I turned the key to on and left it like that and measured the output to the sensor at about 3.15V and because it is intermittent it will be seen as an on/ off voltage … the left cable did not give me a reading and it was like yours severed but about 4 inches from the bundle… mine was stolen and I found it and it seems they were doing off roading and plants got in there and ripped the cable… I found the truck 3 months later thanks to all the platforms on the web… thank you for the hint on this issue I would not think of something like it after a while… great job!!!!
I have your same scanner and app for my 2003 F150. I didnt even realize theres an enhanced package to purchase until I saw your instructions. Thanks Nick for taking the time to share this with us! On to my ABS repair, THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBED...
What a pain to chase that ABS trouble light. With time & a lot of patience, you got it done! $30 isn’t bad, sensors do go bad at least you know the rear sensor is good, Lol. Thank you for all you do making your videos!
Good for you Nick. I am having the exact same issue. Code 1155- left front wheel sensor is not being seen by the ECM. I have an Auto Maxi-Check which can read ABS codes and clear them. The left side 1155 code won't clear. I have replaced the VSS on the left side. I just ohmed out the old sensor and it's reading 687 ohms steady so it was apparently good. The new sensor didn't fix my issue. So I'm going to take a deep dive into the wiring harness tomorrow to see if I can find broken wires. Mine is a 2001 F-250 4x4 7.3 Superduty. I appreciate your help with this video.
defo worth wading thro this cos abs faults are a pain in the jaxee…. ive got one gone out straight after the other after regreasing the front bearings (2wd) n cleaning the tone ring, thanks for posting👍
Quick question, I'm chasing down an abs issue also. Can you disconnect the pcm from going throughthe fender well. Also was that fusebox just held on to the fender with four screws?
Nice bit of diagnosis bud, funny I'm doing a complete front hub rebuild on my 03 6.0 , so hub, manual lock and also the inner vacuum seal. Shame you can't rebuild the hubs but you need a special tool to insert the vacuum seal so I'm just making my own and if it's a success I'll film it so everyone knows how to save them the $100 and hassel.
Thx man, there is only a few things I’m willing to pay people to do, but only if I don’t have that special tool or just not enough experience... yet lol
PIPER DOUG good tool idea, I’ll likely just buy whole hub/shaft assembly if I had to do that lol.... should do more 7.3 vids, is that a 7.3? I plan on doing more 7.3 vids also
Did you find a fix Luke? We have abs light, no speedo, no blinkers, ac stops blowing cold when put in drive. It’s blowing a fuse…just don’t know why. We’ve been through so many things with no luck.
Nick, great video! I had a rat issue with the same wire. It's a PITA, but if you had fully removed the inner wheel well, the wires would have been right in front of you looking up...no need to remove everything from the top down. I'm nervous about removing electrical connectors on a 21 year old truck (I have 2 1999 F350's). Like you, I soldered, added heat shrink tubing and reinstalled with the corrugated covering. I'm still chasing my very intermittent ABS issue, but just ordered AutoEnginuity as I'm tired of chasing cheap scanners. I'm not sure that the cheap scanners work with the 99's.
@@FixItNick It's no fun trying to put it back together, that's for sure. I saw in your video you had it about half off so you experienced the joy of getting the last part put back together. My AutoEnginuity arrives today so hopefully I can track down my issue.
Wow what a PIA job, don't you just want too smack the person that pulled that wire off? That's what I hate about buying used trucks, it's going back and fixing the issue the right way. Great job, I'm getting ready to tackle my one dually fender repair after getting inspiration from you're video on the fender repair.
Tell me about it, I love getting things to stock and make sure all works first, before starting to do mods. Power door locks don’t work and power mirrors, gotta check fuses maybe. One thing I suggest on fender repair is on inside maybe use those thin metal mesh screens over crack before JB weld and rough up the area with 60 grid so JB grabs best
@@FixItNick on my 01 f250 my door locks didn't work when I got it. It turned out to be the lock actuators, which are like 10 bucks or so. But instead of buying new ones I just disassembled them and took the piece of metal in the little motor out that I believe is like a fuse, and wrapped it in aluminum foil and put it all back together. Worked great and still have no problems a year later
Silent Nightmare I think I remember saying that, but I’m like no way, all 4??? I can see one or 2 going, but they all seems to click and move up and down little bit
17:57 and 18:43 What is the problem exactly? I can't really see. Is there an abs wire cut/broken by the rust in the hardness? I didn't really understand why and how you got there (diagnostic). PS: I have to fix an abs problem on my 2000 too!! :) Tks.
@@FixItNick it does go straight but with any bumps or anything like that it will get fairly squirrelly!! At slower speeds it takes minimal effort to keep it straight but over 40 and things can get a little dicey. Should I take it to an alignment shop and get it checked? So the abs issue with the wheel speed sensor wouldn't cause anything to pull? Thank you!! Love you channel very new to watching
Sorry that app required you to buy so much...the one I use with android only cost 5-10 dollars for the torque pro app and 22 for the scanner and I never had to buy anything else
Blue Driver... Anybody knows if the Blue Driver is working with a Ford Super Duty truck 2000? I don''t have any scanner right now, and I heard/read good reviews about it. So I'm thinking of buying one. Tks.
@@FixItNick Tks a lot for the answer. Your video is very well explained. So after all, the needed app for the 7.3 and the cheap scanner you used are cheaper than the Blue Driver. Cool. Tks again.
@@FixItNick Tks man. I've been screwed so many times by ''mecanics' in the past (my cny owned 4 trucks), but with the help of channel like yours, I can now fix my own problems myself for really cheap. I really love YT and really appreciate people like you who tries to help others. TKS AGAIN and have a very good day Sir.
Yes you do have to keep buying packages everytime you do a new vehicle that's how they keep making there money off the user for the app it's an infinite amount of money they can make because of all the brands of cars in the world easier to just buy a scan tool

@@jonnysoultunes Yes. It was a bad left front wheel speed sensor and a cruddy tone ring. I used my Autel 908BT in live data mode to trace it down.

Thx bro, another code been dealing with, doesn’t show up on dash but smog stations see it grrr, getting that cleared
Thanks Nick. You helped me out with my O2. So what's the story is California outlawing 7.3 powerstrokes?
I never liked doing anything brake related on trucks and I really like that 7.3L for a Ford
