Ja Wangnan literally means I am prince, hence why the anime uses Ouji Naru which means the same thing. its similar to how they were saying Yoru but translating it as Baam in season 1. both words mean night which surprisingly important as the story progesses

The English sub is accurate to the korean names.
We learned in s1 that bam is resistant to shinsu, the bomb was gunpowder. Think of him like a Mage that is weak to physical damage but immune to Magic damage.
It’s just Japanese localized name like with bam “yoru”, wangnan “oji naru” goseng “kana” and more

just a fun little random piece of flavor, the pink haired girl with all the lighthouses repellista, had a sign above her door in the comic saying FUS RO DAH (skyrim ref) which is worth knowing cause it's sick lmao

@@bluestReacts Wangnans bombs look like poke balls, so people always joked about it. So much so that SIU, who is the creator of Tower of God started making jokes about it. The little jokes probably won't be in the anime because it references Pokemon, but it's enough that the bombs have their design

So when season 1 first aired, the translations on screen were using the localized Japanese names. But the TOG community (i might be included :3) made a big stink over it to crunchyroll. Since after Season 1 ep 1 they made changes moving forward. Bam was Bam on the translations instead of Yoru.
That's awesome you're thinking of jumping into the webtoon after this season. I strongly recommend starting from the beginning to see what the anime omitted/changed!
Yeah if I was to read that's exactly what I'd do, it's pretty much how I read any series i HAVE to start from the beginning
@@bluestReactsif you do read the manwha, don’t let the artwork dissuade you from reading it. The early drawings are a bit funny looking but like the anime, it changes on season 2.

I was thinking of reading it but I don't know how good it is to enjoy the anime. I read what happened in this ep and it's true that they cut some things to adapt it
@@aripacheco824 It's definitely a great read. It's up to you. Maybe you can read the chapters each episode adapts weekly and then full dive at the end of the season? I highly suggest to read it at some point since it's so good

@@aripacheco824i feel like it definitely would affect the experience and if you’re the type to get nitpicky about things being cut off (understandably) i suggest holding off to reding or at least only read on the point before each season starts. I’ve been reading ToG since 2010 so I just really appreciate the anime just for existing as a long time fan of the webtoon. Though i really wish i could watch the show without prior knowledge of the webtoon, I feel like i would have enjoyed it differently
I believe that Maschenny is way stronger than Yuri. Having Yellow May is an acknowledgment that Maschenny is a chosen princess who is strong enough to get one of the 13-Month Series. Don't forget that she is from the Khun Family. She's cunning and has more experience.
Repellista is a gifted light bearer. You can see it from how many lighthouses she possesses and control.
Masheny IS way stronger, older and more experience then Yuri. Basicly Yuri is the weakest chosen Princess currently (due her young age she still rise in terms of power)
Yuri is a ‘child’ because compared to maschenny, who is thousands of years old, she is only 500. She’s a relatively new princess and has only been a high ranker for around 200 years (took her 300 to climb the tower). And since you mentioned powder, Maschenny is even stronger (much stronger) and can actually fight as both fisherman AND speak bearer which is kinda crazy

As for the first season, they translate the names of the character from korean to japanese, bam became yoru(night) and ja wangman became Ouji Naru (I am prince written backward). So if you ask yourself how to name it you can just say wangman
If you check S1 episode 10 at 19:41, you will notice something similar that might connect some dots

I'm glad you're enjoying s2 so far! I'm assuming you're an anime only. So far, the anime has been very faithful to manwha almost animating everything panel for panel. They did remove an important piece of dialogue in the princess scene, which mentions that 6 years have passed since S1. Also, the reason the names are different from the subtitles is because of japanese translation. Bam in Korean literally means Nght, and Wangnan means Prince. Both these names have actual impact on the story, so thats why the anime literally translated them to Yoru and Naru, the literal Japanese words for the Japanese viewers to understand. I personally have no qualms with the artsyle. I also liked season 1's, but I think season 2 is just as good. Also, I guess this is light spoilers, but you are correct in that we won't be seeing the season 1 cast for a while. Not in this anime season, at least (unless they decide to add some season 1 flashback scenes). But don't worry, you are gonna love season 2's cast. They are imo, way more likable and endearing, Wangnan especially. There's a reason he's the fandom's fan favorite.

about the names, they change the original korean names for japanese names in the anime thats why names are different, they did the same in s1 with baam that means night in korean to Yoru that means night in japanese

the koran name wagnan ja turned to be oji naru - same with goseng and cana. and actualy most of the party name changed to japanese like in season one baam called yoru
with this series, pronounce things how the subtitles say, not what they're actually saying.
the japanese dub changes many terms and names from the korean original because japanese is a rigid language and doesn't accept foreign words easily.
so, their names are goseng and wangnan, and the criminal org is FUG (which is an acronym).
Wangnan’s name is pronounced as “wong nong”
You already know how strong Yuri is but let me tell you we haven't even seen ANYTHING OF HER POWERS YET like it's CRAZY😭 You actually have no idea how strong she and other rankers (especially high rankers) are. In the next seasons when their fights begin, we will really need a better studio with more budget to animate those fights.

@@bluestReacts The Manhwa has no flashback and Wangnan just say "take this" at that moment. The flashback was added to the anime for dramatic purpose.
The reason he got hurt were purely the bomb, nothing to do with the flashback. Viole was overconfident and Wangnan took him by surprise by doing something the others didn't: Attacking him with a physical attack instead of a Shinsu based one.
Wangnan 100% won that exchange on his own merits and ensured he'd pass the test even if he couldn't beat Viole entirely.

The studio that is animating this time is the same one that did Seven Deadly Sins and I didn't like the simplicity of their animation and I still have the same opinion. I would prefer if they handed it over to MAPPA, who has adapted several animes. I really like your channel! 😊

This is the Answer Studio, they have no affiliation whatsoever with 7DS. Mappa and many other studios have their hands full.
This studio didn’t do SDS, they’re completely new and only have done short things before. That’s why this is even more impressive bc the animation absolutely looks great! Also, not everything has to be done by mappa, come on😭 sure, they’re good but they also overwork their staff go a crazy level and these ppl don’t deserve one more thing dumped on them. Besides look at how much mappa rushed GOH, basically ruining it due to the way too fast pace

Quite a few interesting changes from the webtoon here, some for the better and some for the worse. We’ll see how it goes.
Manwha readers will be able to explain it better but till they speak up: What I think is happening is that since the manwha is korean and they have korean names the anime uses the translations or japanese names for them they just go with since it's more familiar for the japanese audience.
Bam is for example called Yoru which means night. And he is called Ja Wangnan apparently but it might also depend on the translation/be different from translation to translation?
From what I've heard so far tho is that he wants to become the prince and prince is ouji in japanese. Ouji Naru as they call him in japanese should mean "becoming prince/will become prince".

They skipped out Yuri including the statement "He's super handsome!", while nosebleeding, as one of her reasons for wanting to find Bam during her and Repellista's conversation. It shows Yuri's goofy side and how much he fawns on him, so I was upset they removed it.
@@knockknackk318 actually it’s good they omitted it bc imo it’s kinda creepy.. sure bam technically is older than he looks but even so he has memory loss & also their dynamic definitely changes later on in the series to a more platonic/familial one, not Yuri having a crush on some clearly preteen boy…
@@rhaelicent yeah I am glad shes being more of a older sibling figure for anime onlies than where it started off as a creepy woman-cougar-predator lmao crushing over like the stranger things kids (that's how it felt to me at least), especially cause later on it ends up that way anyways and she's much more about respecting him and hoping he becomes a good man it seems

Like this part was the one thing that made me dislike yuri a bit in the webtoon and so I just ignored it (mind you she’s my fav character in TOG and has been since 2017), but now that it’s gone it’s even better. It really does come off as borderline pedophilic and yeah it’s much better if they just show people his age range have a crush on him, not someone who looks so much more mature. And ppl who bring up age in the tower argument are stupid since shinsu, sure, makes them look younger BUT only bc they FEEL younger so it’s still weird idc even if they’re (bam and his group) hundreds of years old
@@rhaelicent Yeah I was just looking forward to seeing how others would react if they saw that. It's also agreeable that I like their relationship more in the anime currently as you both said. I just had nostalgia thinking about Bam's potential ships early on in the series.
The only ship I'll never understand are the ones rooting for Bam x Rachel despite everything that has happened, especially the ones following the webtoon. All I can do is just scratch my head and look at them in disbelief.
@@knockknackk318 well I wasn’t bc it’d make yuri a predator and less likeable or ppl would just ignore it anyway😭 and it’s quite disgusting this was an early Bam ship when you really think of it.. feels a bit like a self insert ngl bc Bam had little personality back then. Agreed on Bam x Rachel btw! Though I can’t say I really care for any Bam ship since for most of them he literally shows 0 interest haha
They omitted it from the anime, but there is a 6-year timeskip. It was stated in the S2 trailer, don't know why they left it out.
I absolutely do recommend reading the Manhwa after you finish season 2. At the very least just the parts that the anime covered. A looooooot of the content is skipped or changed in the anime version. Season 1 - I'll be honest, for the manhwa readers is pretty rough. You didn't feel much respect for the source material in it. Luckily at least so far Season 2 seems to be getting actual care. There are still cuts and changes of course, but they have been infinetely more respectful. I'd say Season 1 is 30% of ToG webtoon experience, Season so far is looking like a 65% - not bad at all. I'm actually hyped for season 2.
But yeah - there's a LOT of content and world building and frankly everything that you missed out on - and I greatly recommend to check it out when you can. (Or you could try reading season 1 as Season 2 is still coming out in the anime form for greater appreciation of the events ^^)

I suggest you not to focus on Japanese version of Korean names cause entire community is used to Korean names only and it will be pain in the ass to distinguish Baam/Your, Wangnan/Ouji Naru
There is only Baam and there is only Wangnan. Everything else is for a Japanese audience. If you don't know how to pronounce certain names you can wait for and English dub.
No princess maschenny jahad is way stronger than yuri. And yuri is 500 year old and Maschenny is 5000 old
it somehow annoys me when reactors stop so much, it takes so much away from the immersion and intensity of some scenes... why not react first and then after discuss certain scenes?
@@JustCauseFan because my memory doesn’t work like that, if I save what I want to say until the end I will 100% forget everything. As well as the fact that reaction content revolves around what the reactor has to say and how they react to a scene, and if I don’t pause there’s absolutely no way for me to say everything I want to say, which ends up ruining the viewing experience for me as well
