"Do not go gentle into that good night"
So, here we are... Twelfth Doctor, he hasn't regenerated yet, but I couldn't keep myself from making this. What a brilliant years we've had with him. I'm very impressed with Capaldi's performance. He is an amazing actor !
The series was really emotional and the last episode really did it for me. I was crying like a baby. I sincerely hope that this video did justice to the twelfth hour. I hope you'll like it !
P.S. I used a lot of sound overlays, if you don't have good quality headphones or speakers then you might experience some bugs, I'm very sorry for that.
As always, you people are awesome !
Thank you for your attention ! and please STAY AWESOME !
    - I want to thank these people for their pledges: Oskar Frode, Kira Ernst, Maggie Seider, Carpine Olivier, Kieran Rice, Bethany Vann, Jonathan Kuruc, Flor Tejada, Jack McCann, Georgia Kelly, Henning Just, Andrew Sinnott, Bilaal Afzal, "retonho", Lachie Gordon, Sean Stubblefield, Matt Zweig, Ivan Malov, Christian Mitchell, Kirk Beatson, Maike Waldorf, Michael Robb, Matthew Webb, Joe Lott, Camille Bulaclac, Rachel, Tuck Carrara.

It's been awhile since I've commented here, but am I the only one that thinks the 12th Doctor is just- idk- sort of, aesthetically pleasing to look at? I mean that coat, and that hair... and those wrinkles around those timeless eyes. He truly embodies what I think The Doctor looks like to me, if he ever had a definite face to take.

    Davros: “Compassion, then?”
    The Doctor: “Always.”
Davros: “It grows strong and fierce in you like a cancer.”
    The Doctor: “I hope so.”
Davros: “It will kill you in the end.”
The Doctor: “I wouldn’t die of anything else.”

I think the reason Twelve is my favourite Doctor is that he is the only one given a genuine character arc throughout his time. Don't get me wrong, Ten and Eleven did have moments where they changed (The Water's of Mars and The Snowmen), but they very quickly turned back to the same versions we had seen before those moments. Twelve, on the other hand, changed from a cold and calculated man without care, into a man who can convincingly talk about "Being Kind." That was amazing.

12 has always been my favorite Doctor. I started watching the show during his era. The first episode with him I ever saw was Last Christmas, my favorite Christmas special and I loved him from the moment he first showed up. Peter Capaldi was probably the best thing to happen to Doctor Who. The 12th Doctor had very subtle character development throughout his time. He was tough and emotionally detached in his first season and asked himself if he was a good man. In the finale, he realized he didn't have to be detached and could let his emotions out. Since then he's learned to let loose and have some fun. Until Clara died. It wrecked him because Clara was the most important person in his life. It hurt him so much that he was willing to face his own race to bring her back. After that, he still was having a little fun, but he never let himself be as loose with his emotions as he was in his second season. He was a Doctor that had to learn to be nice, but was always kind. And he was willing to die because he didn't want to keep losing everything. But he regenerated. Because he knew the fight had to go on.

I didn't even realize how accustomed I've become to Capaldi's awkward Doctor . To his in your face emotional rawness and genuineness . Sure he's as canny and sly as ever but he wears his hearts on his sleeves with pride and oafish dignity . I will miss the Capaldi Doctor more than the others because of the way he barged into my heart without my even noticing it . THAT is the mark of a great actor making the most of great scripts . Thanks for all the great years Peter Capaldi and best of luck in all of your future ( and past ) endeavors !

God the 12th doctor was so fucking amazing. I DON'T GET WHY A FEW PEOPLE SAY THAT SEASON 10 WAS BAD. The monk arc was 10/10. Missy's arc of redemption was amazing. The final two episodes were amazing. Bills arc was amazing. All of the episodes were good.

    • @_traximundar_3165
      @_traximundar_3165 6 лет назад +6

Well Season 10 was indeed amazing, but I disagree a little about the monks arc, I mean, Extremis was a phenomenal episode, and The piramid at the end of the world was an exciting continuation, but the payoff in The lie of the land was kind of flat. I mean the previous two episodes established them like an enormous threa, but they just got kicked out in like fifteen minutes. And don’t get me started on the fake regeneration bit, yeah it was funny but cringey and anti-climax as fuck.

I feel like 12 was the darkest/most emotionally broken doctor of them all. How he went slightly insane after losing Clara. How when he was angry his anger was the darkest. When he was sad his brokenness became my own. When he broke, so did we all. 13 has a tough act to follow. She's funny so far, but I fell, after such an emotionally out there doctor in 12, she should have her moments of darkness too. 12 set a precedent that the anger and the pain the doctor has should be forced to be dealt with. I'm happy we had 12, and I'm excited to see what 13 will give us in time.

I'm going to relate a strange thing, as I think Dr. Who fans can appreciate this. Seven or eight years ago, I was going through a really rough patch, and correspondingly, was having a lot of bad dreams. One night, during a particularly bad dream, an angel appeared in my dream. Now this person didn't have wings, or a halo, or a trench coat (yes, I'm a SPN fan too.) I just knew in the dream what he was. He was tall, thin, dressed all in black, with salt and pepper hair and very bright blue eyes. Sound familiar? When the 12th Doctor started wearing mostly black, and one day I realized why something about him seemed familiar, I got major goose bumps. You might say he's had a special place in my heart ever since.
And by the way, if I didn't say it before, I LOVE this video!

I don't know how to begin.
I wasn't able to cry. Then I watched your Doctor Who tributes, and I began crying again. So thanks for that.
That's my comment, really. What follows is something I needed to say aloud or write down somewhere, but I didn't know where to do any of these two things, because my current therapist has heard this a million times and it's now 2 AM and she will of course not reply to my messages at this hour of the night. So I apologize if it's too long. You don't have to read the rest. The rest is, mostly, for myself. But if you do read it, thank you very much.
I've always felt alone. My parents were never really quite there. I have no siblings. My grandmother, who took care of me more than anyone, is now dead. So is my uncle, the only person in my family I genuinely trusted. He died two weeks after my grandma did. They were, sort of, very connected.
I've never been able to connect to others. I've only felt connected to three people in my life. I have many friends and have dated some people, but I've always felt alone, really. Even when I'm not.
So I'll tell you about the only three people I've felt connected to.
One of them was my English teacher. She was 12 years older than me. I fell utterly in love with her. I was 14 when I fell in love. We began exchanging mails, and letters, and, until that moment, I hadn't felt as not-alone, as wonderful, as I did at that moment. I began writing again because she wanted to be a writer, too, and we showed each other our writings. We both had blogs.
Things happen, and then it's too late.
When I was 16, I planned to commit suicide. I knew how I was gonna do it, which day I was gonna do it. I didn't do it, because I was in love with my English teacher, and because I wanted to write books. Those were the only two reasons that kept me alive. I knew she was never gonna be with me the way I wanted. Later on, I've been told by other people that, considering all the things this adult and me had in our friendship, she might've been in love with me, too. It's just we never properly told each other. But that's the thing. In a way, she saved me. In a way, it was me who saved me, but it was her, too.
I began going to a therapist. I didn't like her very much at first, I didn't trust her very much at first. She used purple lipstick and was, again, 12 years older than me, but I didn't know that, not at first, and I didn't care.
I thought my mental problems would drown me and eventually kill me. I thought I would go literally crazy, and that I had left little time of sanity. My mental health has never been quite well and someone once diagnosed me with schizophrenia, a thing that doesn't make much sense to me now, because I've not really had hallucinations, for instance.
    But.
At some point I told my English teacher that I was in love with her. And that's when we stopped being friends. We were really good friends. I considered her to be my best friend. Sometimes I've wondered if maybe I had been hers, too. But, probably, I wasn't.
Eventually, I met a different adult. She was also like 12 years older than me, she had been married and was now divorced, she carried LSD in her wallet and she liked to smoke a lot. I thought she was flirting with me. We had met in a creative writing course. She told me she wasn't flirting with me. But then, on that same evening (we were in a park, and it was getting dark, and we were both smoking the same cigarette, quite literally), we kissed. We kissed many times. And I felt connected to her. I wasn't in love, at least not at first, not quite. But I felt connected. And maybe she did, too. Maybe she didn't. We dated for some time, and no one apart from us really knew, and eventually we realized we both wanted different things. Then she left, too. We blocked each other from all places, and I hope we don't find each other again.
Some months ago (I'm now 19, I'll turn 20 pretty soon, and I haven't gone mad, not yet, anyway, and I don't plan on going mad, nor do I plan on commiting suicide, if possible, ever), I fell in love with my therapist. I don't know how it happened, or why it happened. I was scared.
I felt connected to my therapist. I've had several therapists throughout my life, but I've never felt truly connected to any of them. And, the thing is, I feel more connected to my therapist than I've felt connected to any other person I've known. Probably. I think I've never been more in love with someone, and I've been in love many times. And the thing is, I don't believe I feel these things only because she is my therapist. Somehow, I believe that it has to do with me actually loving her, not her being my therapist, but I don't know. It's confusing.
That's the thing I wanted to write about. I fell in love with my therapist, still am very much in love with her, and that's the thing. She's my therapist.
So I want her to stop being my therapist. It's painful. Because of this, I'm going through the most painful thing I've ever experienced. It's not an exaggeration. I've suffered sexual abuse and many adults in my life (not the ones I've told you about in this comment; never them, not really) have made me extremely scared of the world since I was little. But this, I think this is the most painful thing I've felt.
My therapist knows about all this. It's just, I can't ever date her. I'd have to wait two years for that, because it's not permitted to date your ex-therapist immediately after she was your therapist. And a lot can, and possibly will, happen in "only" two years. We will be different people, and as far as I know, the only one that's in love right now is me and not her. She could be, but it's unlikely, and I won't ask. It wouldn't make sense anyway.
Right now, I feel extremely alone. I was just crying, like I do almost every two days, sobbing without being able to control myself.
So thank you, TheGaroStudios. Your Doctor Who tributes have unblocked something in me that has been blocked since I was a child, and now I'm able to cry again after so many years of swallowing my own feelings. I think of 12 and of how he died alone, and how he suffered more, in my opinion, than the other Doctors I've watched, and I think of how he screams, and of how his screams break apart my soul, particularly when he's being tortured, or when he talks about how all wars begin because of two people that didn't just sit down and talk. I think of how angry he is, and of how angry I feel most times.
My therapist reminds me of Clara very much. Which, again, is awfully scary, and sad. Because Clara dies, and my therapist will go away from me, too. And I'm not 12. I'm not as awesome, I'm not as clever. But she certainly is, in a way, Clara Oswin Oswald. Not the same person, but the same awesomeness, definitely.
This is my favourite tribute. Thanks a lot for making it. Blank Space has made me cry recently. Good Man is the video I listen to when I don't know what choice to make, and I remember Clara saying something like "don't be a warrior, be a Doctor", and I try my best, usually, so thank you very much for that. Doctor Who has changed my life in ways I didn't think a TV series would.
If you read my whole comment, I'm sorry it was too long, but I'm very grateful that you know that I exist. Whoever reads this, hopefully you're fine. Fear is a superpower. Hate is almost always foolish and love is almost always wise. And the bad things don't really spoil the good things. Remember that. Peace

Peter Capaldi's Doctor has a special place in my heart... or THE special as THE (twelfth) Doctor is my favourite character. Letting him go was quite painful, and when he left the series I happened to see your tribute to him. I watched all of your DW videos one by one and it was also painful, but that kind of pain is a good one, it brings to life all the emotions (I've experienced watching DW). Two years later I decided to rewatch some of your videos (i saved them in a playlist back then) and now I feel the need to leave a comment here. You're an artist. I will be forever amazed by your talent. Your editing not only in DW videos but all of them is truly brilliant. Twelfth Doctor is my favourite characther and you are my favourite video editor. Bless you for bringing us fans from all over the world thremendous joy.

While many seem to disagree I believe Peter Capaldi was an incredible doctor and will go down as one of the very best. He gave us younger generations something quite special, a change to see an older actors take on what we have come to expect as a younger role (despite previous being far older). Peter gave us so many memorable lines and I really felt every speech and every small peice of dialogue was said with such care and it really shows in videos like this. Despite the shows overall dip in quality of writing I can't help but feel so happy with the doctors I have grown up a little with. Thank you to theGaroStudios for taking the time to create these videos. And I really hope this next female doctor has something to offer and isn't just feminism gone way to far ..

When you think about it, the tenth doctor was the one who suffered the least, at least companion wise.
Think about it, Rose got separated from him, and got the happily ever after treatment after that.
Martha Just left and lived with UNIT, Torchwood and Mickey
And Donna Lost her memory, the saddest one. None of them perished.
The Eleventh Doctor Suffered the most, with his best friend being separated for ever (this time for real) and losing Clara, Twice! But ultimately staying with her
Then all of that Rage, sadness, loss and grieve is focused with Twelve, and peaked once he lost Clara, Bill, Missy, and of course, River.
When he says he doesn’t want to regenerate, he says he doesn’t want to move on, he’s gone to a point to where he is almost suicidal.
And that sadness is eliminated when he regenerates, when he lets it go, when he lets the doctor, go. The speech says it all, he struggled with the very foundations of what being the doctor means, so he is going to make sure, the next one gets it right, in a young and joyful new version. 13. It’s quite literally an upgrade.

This is absolutely beautiful, and I've only just realized that maybe the reason they had 12 emphasize so much that he wouldn't change, was because they knew 13 would be controversial. It's so much like Clara dealing with the departure of 11. The Doctor will always be The Doctor, and will never change.

I know when he goes, he'll go strong. Perhaps fierce.
There is a little philosophy amongst humans.
That we all have our own faces, but which one is true? If The Doctor ever wants to stop his silly little adventures...
retire and become like the old Timelords. Just watching, observing, trusting the universe in itself.
I could not blame him if he regenerated back into this for a final time, if he considered 'this' to be his true face.

Regeneration is a metaphor for how we all change in our life. I don't c all doctors as different versions of the character but just the same person who changes over time just like anyone else. Capaldi gave me this vibe of the doctor at his final stage in his life he'd done lot and seen lot dat is why he is very wise. I probably would of been fine with the show ending with Capaldi not cos i dislike the show just the oppsite in fact but it just seems fitting to me that Peter Capaldi should be the last in the role.
