Great, I need help Not a big reader, but want to be! I'm a homeschooling mom, I have always liked Real Housewives, currently love Below Deck TV show, but reality TV is something I'm growing away from, and am loving reading about the Classical education method. I like American folk and country music/vibe. Am feminine, love food/cooking and like sarcastic humor. Gimme recs please!!!!
I think Virginia Woolf was more ‘A Room of One’s Own’. E.M. Forster was ‘A Room With A View’. Although regardless of who said what, the view is breathtaking.
When I'm financially stable enough in the future i will gonna buy all the books i wanted and read all day. Reading is such a stress reliever and always calms my mind and soul.
I read Conversations on Love as part of a local book club and omg it is the best!! Makes total sense that you want to take your time with it because there is so much to absorb and unpack. So glad you're enjoying it so far and thank you for taking us on holiday with you
i adored happy hour!! i'm usually a "sad girl in a big city" genre kinda reader, but it was a nice change of pace to read a "happy girl in a big city" book. great summer read :)
@@arixannaj omg don't get me started Recently, I loved Celopatra and Frankenstein, and Other People's Clothes. Definitely look at the content warnings before picking up these up haphazardly but goooodness i devoured them.
If you’re a ‘no plot, just vibes’ reader, you might enjoy the author Amor Towles as well; Rules of Civility is all about a girl making her way through New York society and I loved it, I thought it was so well-written. Gentlemen in Moscow is equally beautiful and quotable. The writing style is slightly reminiscent of Oscar Wilde, in that there is loads of commentary on society in the form of character dialogue, observation, and humor. Also, can I just say that the vacation vibes in this video are immaculate and I’m super jealous 😂 I’m currently camping in the forest with a bunch of my students (I’m an English teacher from the USA in the Czech Republic) and it’s SO cold. Don’t mind me, just daydreaming of lying on the beach in the sunshine to get me through 4° weather 🙃🙃
Lovely vlog. I have My Dark Vanessa on my TBR, still haven't gotten around to it but now it's on my tbr cart instead of my shelves. Hope you had a really good vacay!
Kiwi Life Hack: Train yourself to be comfortable eating them like an apple. I know it takes some time getting used to but once it's not weird anymore you can just eat the kiwi by biting off the knobby bit at the end and spitting it out and then just eat the whole kiwi.
Honestly, your content is ✨️chaos and vibes✨️ and I'm here for it 😌 I'm also moving countries soon and I've been prepping for it (just want it to hurry up and happen already 😅)
Not to be a Goodreads stalker, but are you going to discuss Our Wives Under The Sea at some point? I really loved that book and want to hear your thoughts, haha. I hope your move goes well!
I thought I was the only one who folds the pages w quotes I like to come back to it later but app it’s pretty common😭 however I don’t underline just re read the whole page to rediscover it and feel the feels again
It's like your camera said "Jack knows what Jack looks like, lets focus on the things behind him that he may not have noticed!" Yes I gave your camera a speaking part :P For some odd reason you made me want to stumble on Pizza Girl. It doesn't look or sound like my type of book at all, which is normally a thriller or crime book but yep if I see Pizza Girl she will be mine!! :P Thanks Jack!!
Must recommend A Good Year by Polis Loizou A very short book that takes place in 1925 rural Cyprus. Read in one day! Loved the superstitions and bits of Cyprus culture, especially the creepy woodland creatures. Overall fantastic blend of religion, fantasy, and horror.
Conversations on Love is taking me a couple months to read for that reason exactly! feel like I can only read 30/60 pages before I need like a massive break to digest everything.
When I finished reading Happy Hour my thoughts were exactly the same - absolutely is a 5 star, also, my exact taste in literature. This is all the proof I needed to trust any book recommendation you give :D
Omg I got pizza girl in a book box over a year ago and haven’t even thought about picking it up yet but seeing that you liked it… I will definitely read it now
as a Cypriot we're happy to have you over! there's this misconception that all English tourists are uh well how do I put it... mischievous? that'll do I guess 💀. Anyway, you're proving them all wrong so !!!! hope you enjoyed your stay
Ok I have to ask, are you moving to New York?! It’s been bugging me for a while now, but you keep subtly mentioning NYC. I could just be imagining it, but idk🤷🏻♀️ Either way wishing you the best wherever you go and also very jealous of your amazing trip!
For a second there I thought you paid 10 € for the fruities, and I was like: I’m sorry jack cyprus is stealing from you I though you had already passed the Libras to euros transformation 😂
The Island of Missing Trees… did not enjoy! Not for me but everyone’s different, glad you enjoyed it I guess. Hope you didn’t get attacked by any wild cats, when I went to Turkey I was followed by them, they jumped on our tables and we’re actually really annoying no matter how cute they were. Invest in a Kindle for travelling Jack, used to really love mine, my love for it comes and goes, in a go phase rn but it’ll come back I’m sure. Love highlighting bits on it, can’t bring myself to mark a physical book
Can you tell me what you liked about this book? It was only 200 pages but i struggeld so hard to finish it and i've seen pretty mixed reviews on this one. ( i dont wanna be rude im just really wanna hear different opinions)
Hey Jack, I’d love it if you could do an updated thoughts on StoryGraph video as I’m honestly amazed by how useful the app is but I also think more could be added. Might be interesting :)
okay it's so WEIRD how you're reading 'shuggie bain' of all books and I just happen to click on this vlog - my uni just had an event with douglas stuart YESTERDAY where he talked to one of our lecturers about his new book 'Young Mungo'. what are the odds!! he's an incredible speaker and it made me really excited to read his latest - do let us know what you think of 'Shuggie Bain'!
hello jack. as an absolute genius im guessing that you've read ulysses, do you have any tips on how to get through it??? page 15 and feeling like im trying to eat a hot curry here.
I felt the “I terrorise everyone I know with book recs that I think they’ll enjoy.” on a spiritual and metaphysical level. 😂
Metaphysical level? I thought metaphysics was the study of the reality of existence, and such and not PERSONAL RELATIBILITY
I also terrorise everyone with book recs that I know they won’t enjoy.
I keep seeing your comment everywhere on RUclips, i guess we both watch a lot of the same content creators.
Great, I need help

You Will Not Have My Hate was a beautiful and heartbreaking book, it reminded of me of When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi.

imo dog ears are better than sticky tabs for annotations. how the pages wear down adds personality to a book, it shows how much the reader enjoyed it.
