This is simply stupendous.. the choice of gymnasts and the musical score.. amazing. Honouring these soulful artists. Thank you!
from around 1:30 to 1:44 is true artistic gymnastics gorgeous
Elena Mukhina. She was the one.
The music is just perfect for these beauties. I like how you focused on the choreo and the tumbling, both equally important.
you dont see this kinds of routines anymore..so sad :(
Interesting fact: Vera Caslavska was the first gymnast in history to score a 10.00 at the 1967 European Championships on the Uneven Bars and the Floor Exercise.
A very overshadowed fact because Comaneci's (actually imperfect--due to a small hop on the dismount) 10 was done at the Olympics. Publicity...!
Get off your high horse - Nadia's routine was impeccable deserving of a 10. Nothing imperfect about her exquisite flow, form and dexterity.
AMAZING WONDERFUL MONTAGE. TRUE BEAUTY FROM AN EPOCH (BEFORE 1992) I DIDN'T KNOW EXCITED. THANK YOU SO MUCH
So beautiful back in day
Nice to see Lilia here np one seems to talk about her
Back in the day when they stride for REAL artistry. Yeah, the skills are more difficult today but the artistic value is D.O.A.
QPHashSS77 grace, and balletic dancing
Artistry is INTERPRETIVE, a unique concept for each gymnast. Not everyone is a ballerina!!
@@saragrant9749 My condolences, Your generation strives for so little. It's called "Artistic" gymnastics, not "Shake your booty" gymnastics..
@@Jay6459 my condolences to you that you live in such a stationary, unmovable, archaic, rigid mindset that you can’t even understand the concept of showing respect to the gymnasts of today- athletes who work equally as hard but with the liberty to interpret the sport in their own unique way. You want to see just ballet style dancing? Then go watch ballet. Artistry is an interpretive concept, a fact that people like you seem unwilling to understand.
@@saragrant9749 ,🤣😅😂 Move on, simpleton. Not worth my time nor intellect. 🥳
Every montage you make freaking rocks. I love watching your postings :)
Omg and those women from the 60s must have had hair-dos made out of concrete O.o
beautiful!!! thank you for sharing this with us!
Ludmilla Tourischeva, the one and only queen!
Soviet and Romanian schools - such a difference!
The difference being they were allowed to indiscriminately mistreat the athletes to exact their ultimate goal of winning.
Tumbling on those flat mats... Amazing
That was amazing to watch!
Wonderful :)
Great job!
In the the past European championships were like World championships because the strongest gymnasts were all from Europe.
That would be because those countries controlled the judging. Other countries had strong gymnasts too but were not allowed to score highly as they weren’t eastern bloc.
@nikki04movies It is Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi
This video is like proof of how hideous gymnastics has become. It's like watching something you love self-destruct.
To think this comment was made 9 years ago! But to be fair, I think that slowly but surely we're getting back to where it should be--Thorsdottir, Hurd, McCusker, Castles, Derwael. Albeit none come close to this, but we have to start somewhere!
Hideous? What an inept and insulting statement to the modern gymnasts of today. Artistry is an individual, unique and interpretative concept. Not everyone is a ballerina and gymnasts today are allowed to utilize their own skills and strengths to best advantage. Try having an appreciation for the hard work of today’s athletes instead of demeaning them in favor of the past.
Khorkina's outrageous green leo!...
@darkeyes2404 It is being shown on BBC interactive (although not the channel I get) with a highlights program on BBC2 on monday.
What is the name of the piece of music you used?
@azsogd what happened to her? its like i heard of her one year then it seems likee she completely disappeared
Corina Ungureanu from Romania
Who was the girl in between Khorkina and Furnon? Scoreboard said she was a Romanian ... ?
Corina Ungureanu
@ShellieRH - I took my mother to see the Europeans....cert didnt see much 'artistry' in the ladies floor routines! sadly......
@veevee305 that sucks...
simone biles dislikes this
