- I purchased the Sun Joe reel mower on Amazon and did not see a lot of reviews on RUclips for it, so I thought I would throw one together.
This year I am trying to go lower with my lawn and my rotary mower was a little tough on it with it not being a real clean cut. Figured I would dive into the world of reel mowers to see how it goes.
This is my first lawn video; I may do more follow up videos as the season progresses.

Nice video and thanks for the thorough review. I’m getting ready to purchase a push reel mower for my backyard since I only have roughly 800sqft of grass to mow. You’ve convinced me to buy one. I also appreciate you just showing footage of it being put to use!

You have the perfect lawn for using a push reel mower. The only 21" push reel mower I'm aware of is sold thru the Clean Air Gardening website and costs around $300.00.

How do these cylinder mowers cope with things like small twigs and branches, stones etc? My own lawn is free of them but help a neighbour who's lawn has many of them, unseen and sunk into grass. Its not possible to pick them all up. Thanks.
Just purchased this one. Did you need to adjust reel to bed knife depth before first use??
I don't think I adjusted the reel to bed knife. I am pretty sure I just adjusted the height of cut and went to town. Good luck with it, it was a great introduction to reel mowing for me.

I have no idea, sorry. You would probably have to go over it like 3 or 4 times.
Just use a grass knife or a scythe at that point there bud.

I do still have it, I use it maybe once a year but I have moved on to some larger reel mowers.
Whats the max cutting hight on it?
