In this video I review and share my experience cutting my lawn with and reviewing the Sun Joe 16-inch manual reel mower.
I'm a millennial who's grown tired of renting and I realized that the career path that I was on was heading towards a dead end, so I quit. I recently moved to the midwest where housing is more affordable and took out a mortgage on a house, securing a better future for myself. It is! I was worried it wouldn’t be sharp after the winter but I’m currently working on my second cut of the season and it’s working great. Squeaked a little so I just but a little bit of bicycle chain lube on the main blade and problem solved. Definitely takes longer than a powered mower, but with this one I get a workout too so I save time and money not needing to go to the gym 😉

spent three hours when gas couldve got it done in 20 mins... the extra money for gas worth time is something you will never get back

Tbh I’ve started working on the roof and balancing that with work, I have little time to garden and NO time to waste with the reel mower - my yard is just too big! I’ve been thinking about a battery-powered mower and will likely be getting the Greenworks 80V. While battery is more pricey than gas, I’d rather invest in that emerging tech and not have to fuss with gas (which also adds up $). Will have to do an update video on roof, garden and mower soon… thanks for your interest and good point! It certainly got me thinking about all my time “enjoying” the back yard, which could be better spent on other projects 👍
