New to Ark playing on PS5, done a lot of prep work for this, made my crossbow and 100x tranq arrows as well as a prime meat collection. Flew towards to the highest mountain and saw a bunch of Argentavis, built trap, eventually lead one through the trap, fired a tranq, it killed it right away. Lead another one through, decided to use a club melee it and the club* got broken after a few smacks, this was only a level 6 one may be I am playing on easy, so I punched it, back off, punched it and repeat. Won the boxing match and was looking for the prime meat, all disappeared for some reason, had to load it up with basic raw meat, biting my nails for 15 mins and eventually it did eat it, eventually tamed one. Thanks!
Hey Steve , looking at your trap gave me an idea! To keep small aggressive Dino’s from eating your tame you could use 1 wall high then put your trap on top. Could ladder up above wall to put food and narcos in . Or you could put doors on your trap to close after you tranq if using your version!
Use fence foundations to place a gate and a square of walls 2 high around the trap about two or three foundations out from the edge of the trap itself. Makes a good permanent safety wall to keep the tame alive. Also unless they changed it, gates and doors can be opened by anyone as long as it's set to unlocked with no pin set.
Can't wait to try this! Btw even tho i have notifications enabled I'm not seeing your live streams come up, watching the videos back is good but less fun 😢
Am I wrong??? ..isn't the pick axe the right tool to get more prime meats? It would be neat if their was a rhythm based mechanic when u had the sword equipped to provide the most primes.

@@NOOBLETSwhat he's asking is about the trick using the healing ability of the argy In survival evolved we used to shoot the argy until she is almost at blackout point using a magnifying glass to get the right moment When she is about to blackout you drop inside the cage a dead body of any dino a dodo for example At the exact moment the argy eats the body she starts to heal. If you put her to sleep right on this moment she fell asleep but her food bar in her inventory will be 0 empty. so when you put food inside she eats so fast that it is almost an insta tame is about seconds she is tamed ❤ I don't know if it is working on ASA because I'm a console player 😅
yeah i think steve is slippin because unless everyone on the server is in your tribe or allianced there not going to be able to place the spikes down which especially with out a DOOR is a must
Would raising the foundation higher to keep the pesky dilos from damaging your tame? Ive been using the old dino gate on a raft trap get them from murder beach on the west coast just before the snow biome. Not very elegant, but gets the job done

I tried using all the argi traps and didn’t work argi a always escaped now I put 4 foundations flate on the ground 2 gate structures with gates 12 window walls and 4 ceilings I shoot the argi I want to tame with a tranq then once it comes over I go into the trap then I run around it while is in the trap then I close the gate and shot it through the windows and that’s the best way I find is good to tame them also while gathering ur prime meat to speed up the argi tame make sure to put some spikes around the trap as ur argi might get attacked
My best Pterodon is unable to fly with me loaded with a trap; lvl 155 even and too weak. Took me a day to get enough Stamina to stay aloft for 5 minutes and 3 to recharge.
Other way around. Arrows raise a lot initially, but then continuously raise for a longer period of time. Darts gut the torpor way harder, but have no lasting effect like arrows. That is why a mean crossbow is prescribed for a gigga, not a long neck.

We've got a couple traps on our server that the doors are simply unlocked. Everyone can use them.
I usually just use the good old fashioned 3 Dino gates trap and leave my doors unlocked

You get more prime fish if you use a sickle on salmon/leedsys, you should test it on a baby to see if it works for prime meat as well.

Goodd argies are in the mountains and rough country I have found.
120 le male and females ffound, got none as Ptero's too weak.

no one but you and your tribe/alliance will be able to use that trap susuccesfully just because they wont be able to place the wood spikes around it
Thats why you leave render distance until its ready, even on a full pop servers its not that common for areas to be rendered.
This looks good. I usually build the giant dino gate variety, but I am going to try this compact design
I think gates are still pretty viable, especially now that we can pick them back up
