Alone
Season 5
In Alone, ten men are left in solitude, and separated from each other, in the harsh Vancouver Island wilderness. With no camera crews or producers, they have to survive using only what they can stuff into a backpack. They will hunt, build shelters and fend off predators as they face extreme isolation, psychological distress and the terrifying plunge into the unknown.

Good luck Man; Rooting for everyone at this point.
I can’t say Jesse is making it past a week
My money is on Jesse to be the first one to drop out of season 5. Nearly all of his equipment looks brand new, store-bought, and untested. I can't think of what advantage that mitre saw will have over any other saw that was available to him. I'll grant him a single point for painting his axe handle orange so he can find it. If you want a stainless canteen, take a good look at the Nalgene 38 oz. bottle with a wide mouth.
Notice he took only one spool of fishing line. No snare wire no real cordage. I give him props for the cast iron Dutch oven though
Sooo a really cheesy cheap axe that he plans to cut into firewood? And a tiny carpenters saw? Wouldn't it be smarter to bring a saw you could actually process firewood with?
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
That's a pretty darn small saw.
slightly bigger than the saw on Nicole's leatherman multi-tool
Yup lame saw choice !
would have went with the 1.89 litre model water bottle. last week end I did the hot water bottle thing ... rained like mad & cold... I was toasty warm :) & people don't get that drinking 3-4 litres per day by boiling in micro batches is crazy stupid extra labour. 2 big water bottles boiled at the same time once per day ! = 4 litres
4 arrows !? Dude I've lost 3 an a day. good luck with that. livin the dream. oh well you have to try, or failure is guaranteed
They only get 4 arrows hahaah. I guess they really don't want anyone to actually thrive out there. I'll take 3 dozen and also a gun and ammo!
The Wooded Beardsman yeah not a fan of the saw
Bill Randall They go in the fall......not summer.
People have a severe misconception about what is taught-to/expected of spec ops, guys. They are almost never expected to operate alone, unarmed, hand to hand. They receive very little such training, cause it would be a huge waste of taxpayer's money. they are taught to maximize their effectiveness as a group, with armament, and if cut off in some way, their job is not to hide and starve, but rather to be rescued ASAP, so that they can get back in the fight. Each one costs about a million $ to be selected and trained. You pay for all the ones who try and fail to make it, all the moving around, all the support staff who do all that.
Why didn't he pull out his knife to show?
Toilet paper, a sympathy card, Bushmaster, salt, escargot tongs,
Insulin, yoga mat, Bible, chocolate,
Harry Potter, magic wand.
Iron American Dream on RUclips.
Did he say he would cut the handle of his axe if he needed it for firewood????
Muskrat Jim I know... I was like what?
You can tell who won’t win by that quote 😂
Yeah, it's a long-term plan I believe.
Muskrat Jim That handle would last him a good 10-15 minutes worth of fire wood. Seems logical to ruin your axe for that.
I don't know WHAT he was thinking... I would expect much better from a former Green Beret.
That saw... No..!
Right ???
I can tell who's inexperienced by the type of sleeping bag people take. -40 doesn't mean you're going to stay warm at -40, heck you're going to freeze your balls off and while freezing your balls of you're going to burn a buttload of calories while trying to stay warm - anyone who's done any sort of winter or spring camping in cold climates knows this. I'd go at least -60 for -40 degree weather. I think Sam was the only one I've seen who went -50 so good on him for being smart.
Bill Randall
Its summertime but still quite cold at night.
A sleeping bag is essential.
Freezing takes too many calories.
Hot rocks dont stay hot the whole night.
If you had experience you should know that.
@bali song uh i noticed they blocked you out of the alone subreddit
Well good luck Man,I’ll be watching here in Japan
notice all the nettle?! good stuff
Not only is the saw small but there's not too much kiln dried wood to cut in the forest.
Send me out there Alone
My prediction is the person without a bow and the person that doesn't carry both axe and saw will win...
Totally, 90% of them won't even use it, but let's see what will happens.
In previous seasons bows have been completely ineffective.
Solid looking contestants so far. I could honestly see the first tap out being like day 30
I disagree... They have all screwed up with the items that they are taking.. Every contestant is taking a saw, axe and knife... no need for an axe and a saw.. In previous seasons people have brought a bow and I haven't seen anyone have success with it.. So far every contestant has a bow..
One item choice here or there does not make that much of a difference. I think they are panicking due to Mongolian climate. It is just south of Russia/Siberian mountains, I spent a year there it gets to well below -40. As to the bow it is a high risk high reward, we might see the first time on the show that a large mammal it taken down. It will be a game changer. Personally I think the items constants have taken are better than previous seasons, with the exception of Sam.
I feel like half the contestants put so much thought into their gear, and then almost none into their clothes. Is he wearing cotton pants? Look how wet the knees got just from kneeling for a couple minutes. Ridiculous.
5 days omg I shot hot tea through my nose at that
This guy is gonna be hard to beat.......
FIVE days!? Are you f**kin kidding me? People with NO gear not even a knife or lighter have lasted longer than 5 days. That's pathetic. I'll bet he's not even ashamed.
How to participate in alone season...
I am interested..
Pls reply me.......✍
Everyone brings like a -40 sleeping bag. But everyone moans about it after saying it wasn’t enough 😂
Glad your getting a second chance . Now I get to see what you got. I'm guessing your a hunter. I'm thinking you needed all your skills.
What kind of knife was it? Looked like it could have been a Yarbrough
that knife is a chopper, not a carver..i think .
I don't remember this dude, from the previous shows...??
Kanzee he is from season 4 the season with teams his brother suffered a back injury which pulled his team. I believe him and his brother could have won season four if it wasn't for the injury. This Jesse guy was in my opinion the best show men in season 4. And he would have been the first person in season 4 to reach his partner during the hike.
He wasn't there long...
I think I would have brought a longer saw, and probably a better hood for the axe. And I’m surprised he didn’t bring any cordage or a tarp. I’ll have to look in to see how he fares.
blamstam The tarps don't count as one of their ten items it seems I've looked at all the contestants videos and none mention a tarp
They all should have left the saw at home and chose something else... I agree with the Tarp if that was one of the choices.
Why not just bring the whole set of 8 knives, a tent and a pot... thats all you need... good idea with all those blades.. gonna need them.
Bill Randall no kidding? In previous seasons it was one of the items they had to choose. But after knowing that it makes his other choices make more sense. Thanks for enlightening me, bud
I've cut down some pretty big trees (and easily) with an 8" Japanese folding saw. It also weighs nothing and takes up little room. It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it.
He has an axe, good, but did he really brought a tiny carpenter´s saw? I mean, really? Also, no cordage AT ALL? Is he planing to find a cave or a lost tent/tarp around there?
they all get a tarp. but i agree his lack of cordage is baaad.
Thats why he’s wearing pants.
He can just rip the threads out for cordage or kindling. Duh.
lol jk
They are supplied with two tarps, a 20x20 and 10x10. I agree Id bring cordage, but cordage can also be made easily, it's just time consuming
He probably is preparing to make cordage with local foliage which is a great theory but I'd rather have cordage than the bow tbh
Wow! Only 5 days last time? What makes this time different from the last time? Have you got better training and more experience for this time around?
He was in a team with his brother, his brother had an injury so they both got pulled out.
I bet that saw help you lose lol
Good item choice, I think you are going to own it.
Survival is more about attitude than skill. He has the right attitude. Yeah a bit disappointing in the last season, it does put him at a slight experience disadvantage. In the walk he was days or weeks ahead of the other contestants.
I honestly thought him and his brother where going to win season 4. Even his brother seemed like a great contestant.
That's not a longbow
I don't remember this guy from any of the seasons... did he tap out on the first day?
Vladimir Poutine Fifth...
I remember this guy now, his buddy hurt his back and had to get air lifted out.
Vladimir Poutine Yes...that's the guy. Hard to say how he'll do since we have no previous episodes to base it on. But his brother built half a cabling in a few days before hurting his back. So if he's like his brother shelter will not be an issue. But I think food might be.
No toilet paper????
I've watched 2 episodes of season 5. So far, No Brooke.....WHERE IS BROOKE?????.....
Another Maine boy! Hope you can do as good as the season 3 winner, Fowler, good luck bro!
He lasted 5 days...
MARINES!
@@quimblyjones9767 I saw that. He ate too much pine bark er something. Was really rooting for him too! Oh well. He tried.
5 days😂
Hopefully that’s not a cotton tee he’s rockin.
He only lasted FIVE DAYS? Seriously? What participate?
this pagliaccio couldnt survive kids birthday party at chuckee cheeses
