    Surge protectors causes fire bcz of discharging in plastic and overheating the MOV nonlinear resistor is like a lighting to strike in that outlet

    I have a desktop computer a monitor and a printer, it is not a work related computer , would YOU settle for a good surge bar or would you spend a lot of extra money on a APC UPS device ? thanks.

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  8 месяцев назад +2

      @cliffbrown4217 It depends on how you use your home computer. If you're editing videos or performing tasks that need to be backed up regularly you may want to consider a UPS device as it will give you the needed time to make a save before the power cuts out. If you're using your computer for every day tasks like web browsing or streaming videos or music, then you would likely be fine going with a good surge protector. So you are plugging the surge protector into a tamper resistant outlet and converting it into An open baby killer outlet and then probably placing it on the floor… All power strips should be required to be tamper resistant

    If your bricks are taking too many outlet spots use very small extension cords like 8 inches.

      Why a shorter one is better?

    • @suntzu6122
      @suntzu6122 5 месяцев назад

      @@nancyliu2001 You really only need the small length so you can bend it for easier access. You plug the little ones in, then the big honkin brick piece can just plug into that, and you can use your full power strip. Not lose slots because of those huge bricks.
