Good variety on your video, Brian - a great trip when we went there a more recent time - I can still recall those regular female WBQ station announcements to this day ! - Ian
I would have been too young to understand any of the politics behind privatisation in the late ‘90s but it seems like the process was a complete mess (not that things are much better now). So much rolling stock still in BR liveries or in temporary private owner liveries. Still, it would have made things more interesting for the enthusiast I imagine.
A wonderful array of loco types Brian, but the thing that jumped out at me, was how unobtrusive the West Coast Gantry system is, compared with the almost Lego type system being built across South Wales all these years later, despite all the new technology that has been developed....Regards....Bob
Robert Masterman hi Bob ...yes a very good point the old wcml catenary is much less cluttered than the Apparent disarray down here.....thanks again mate, see you soon regards Brian
Great Video. I was based at Warrington at this time and can remember all this traffic like it was yesterday.
Thanks Stephen
Great video, it makes me wish I was born ten years earlier so I could have seen these fantastic days of British traction! Thanks for uploading. Mark.
InterestingRailways UK a pleasure Mark, I still get a kick uploading these videos

I wish loco-hauled passenger trains didn't become nearly extinct.
You and me both
By this time 31s appearances were getting rarer as withdrawals kicked in again after a big lull.

king Edward 1 has battered its way through Warrington a month after this
Good choice of traction and types of trains, but the video is sadly let down by all the silly different transitions.
