I spent many an hour here as a kid in the late 1980s early 1990s with my dad I was about 14 in 1986 best days ever all the class 20s/31s/37s/45s/47s/56s the odd class 58 I loved this place! all the 20s chirping away to each other it sounded like they was talking to each other lol 😅 good video 🥰
Great video. It brings back lots of memories. A mate and I used to travel from Cheshire to Tinsley by train, get the bus from Sheffield Station to "The Three Magpies" for just 2p (10p once we were over 16), and then walk over the bridge to the depot, before climbing up the embankment to watch the goings-on. Thank you.
Being a secondman at Sheffield Midland we use to catch a bus in middle of night in 70s to Tinsley to bring locos down to station for workings in the mornings great times.
Great video. Brings back memories for me when train spotting in the 70s 80s. We used to seek inside the sheds and round the great locos. Naughty naughty.

That would have been great to see and hear but unfortunately a bit before my time!
What a fantastic video. Just realised this was 40 years ago! Time flies when you have fun.
Thank you and I hope you have enjoyed some of my other stuff!
Just wish I had filmed more during that era!

Well those would have been the days as I imagine would have been a very interesting depot and yard in those days!
I went there in the 2p bus days, found a fiver (fortune then) on the path on the bank up around the back, paid for my whole day from Bristol

Yes remember that pub name now, amazing memories as a kid.
@@paekokstationmaster5032 There were constant loco movements. The sights, sounds and smells were brilliant.
Great vid, memories of 28 years working there and painting names on locos come flooding back.
Well fancy that you were the famous name writer for which Tinsley Locos were known for!
Glad you enjoyed my video!
Yes I was one of the two responsible
