- WARRINGTON BANK QUAY STATION in APRIL 1987
Travelling on one of the TP Services out of Manchester I alighted at Warrington BQ Station. Being on the WCML through express services were in the capable hands of class 86 and 87 AC Locomotives A glance over to Arpley Yard saw several trains departing and later running through the station northwards hauled by a pair of class 20's. A class 45 makes it's way north too. Several class 31's arrive from the north and local services are being handled by Sprinters. The best part of the clip is the class 85 on a freight heading south...please enjoy the short return to this great era....
Thanks for posting. I was spotting at Bank Quay for part of that day too having travelled up from Crewe. The class 20 with 026 was 113. Great memories!
So many thanks for that....my best regards to you.....maybe we will bump into one another again.....Mark
Interesting moment with the 120, in its final fling as a parcels unit.
It was an interesting sight....Many thanks....Mark
Great memories!!! One thing missing Is the smell from the soap factory!
Yes I remember it well ...best wishes....Mark
Another virtual spotting outing. The seemingly endless MGR behind the Class 20s was very cool; that must have been a fair weight when loaded
Thank you once again for your support Andrei.....Probably at the max load for a pair of 20's.......Mark
Superb!
Many thanks you are most welcome and ....best wishes....Mark
Lovely stuff. I think you've got 87005 and 86257 on two of the non stopping trains.
Yes you are correct in that......many thanks for watching David as always....mark
Thanks for posting, brings back some memories. I used to go spotting WBQ with my dad. Used to see a few nuclear flask trains going through there. Good mix of passenger and freight.
You're very welcome....many thanks for your interest....Mark
What was with all the passenger trains rushing through the station? That doesn't happen anymore there.
When Express trains were Express......Many thanks for watching and for your comment best regards....Mark
Used to hide in the toilet from Preston with just a platform ticket and do the same on the way back, shameful behaviour……but worth it!
Was definitely the place to be👍
By hook or by crook eh.....many thanks and best wishes....Mark
87s were the best!
Indeed they were....many thanks once again....Mark
