Thank you so much for the Netflix app info. Kept me from returning my Gear VR. One of the main reasons for buying it is to use for Netflix while lying down.
I bought the Gear VR 2017, NEW, UNOPENED for $15 dollars. I have the controller but now I want to see what you can do with it and your video has great tips. By the way I have a Galaxy S10 plus and it fits and works beautifully.
Another tip, worth knowing. If you push the side button when in VR, you will be able to access the phone in a virtual phone mode. Both portrait and landscape. Some things like video and apps with complicated graphics may not function. Regardless, a cool feature.
Nice video man! I had no idea about the Chromecast function. Will make things a lot easier when I'm letting my family try VR and I need to talk them through how to launch games etc
I have enjoyed my Gear VR for a few hours in the last wwwk or so of having it. However novel, the whole experience seems lacking much content. I believe this model is capable of more than is currently available if that even makes sense. My curiosity for greater more immersive experiences has me sniffing out reviews on higher stand alone and console/PC VR devices. Im sure that even in 2018, the whole experience is still in its infancy and look forward to what content becomes available on all devices. Not giving up on my Gear VR and Note 8 yet. Informative video. The Netflix tips won't be forgotten. Thanks.
Mobile VR is but a sample of what a full vr setting can do. Its recommended for people who wanna see if they even actually enjoy it in the first place before acquiring the real thing.
When i connect my vr gear with my Samsung s7 edge mobile ,screen turn to black screen with a "x" mark on the corner for 3 sec and then came to my phone menu, I've done everything, deleting ,uninstall and reinstalled oculus softwere on my phone ,same thing happens ,there's no dust inside usb port, please help me with this problem, oculus support centre, they aren't responding .
Excellent tips. The first one, I didn't know, lol the safety warning was driving me crazy. I tried the watch controller, was too awkward for me, but the Gear controller is great. The VR has so much great content now it's very enjoyable, though it's difficult to watch a 2 hour Netflix movie in one sitting on the VR, so I stick to the TV for that. One thing I found that helps with general comfort is to use earbuds rather than full sized headphones, it reduces the weight of the whole thing.
Yo, just a random coming through. Obviously you noticed the auto focusing system just going all over the place. Because you're not really moving, it would be a good idea to set the focus to manual. The focusing just threw me off the video. Thanks for the video regardless!
Sorry about that. It wasn't sure what to do when it couldn't see my face and the TV went black. I will definitely fix that for next time. Thanks for the feedback!
It's cool, only with the Gear VR tho, because it's very comfy and lens set up is optimised so it doesn't hurt quickly. It's very enjoyable with the 3D effect and so immersive if you have a full SBS movie so you play it in 180° VR. You'll need a good VR player that will let you set up the SBS and it should be on 1440p although 1080p is still ok. I personally take a break after 1 hours to relax the eyes and focus. I don't have motion sickness if it's a movie
@@sanch2741 I have now a Rift S and it's game changing. First of all movies are not in 180° and they can be half SBS. Unfortunately today technology doesn't allow to watch Full SBS (both 1080p to each eye). You can buy Bluray in 3D but it won't make a difference in term of resolution. With Bluray you need Bigscreen or Virtual desktop to stream your screen and play bluray with Kodi or madVR / LAV Filter, or it won't be true quality. If it's 180° you need 5K video because it's an image that is stretched to your headset screens, so the quality will be 720p, idk if 8K 180° can be played currently.
Is it possible for me to play my 3D movies on my s10 with the gear v325? My 3D movies are in file format on my PC, so if it is possible would it just be a case of copying them to my phone and playing them directly from the s10? Is any specific software or media player required?

Does anyone know if the latest version of the gear vr has overheating problems? I have a galaxy s9. Does the headset cause battery life issues? If anyone can get back to me on this, that would be great!
Can I stream using screen mirroring instead of comcast? I tried and it didn't work... is there any other way to do it so others can see what you see on the VR

Have you tried closing down all background apps, when a phone overheats like that its usually because there is too many processes running for the battery to handle. If you're phone is quite old too it could just be that the battery is worn out and could do with replacing, there are plenty of battery apps available that can give you good info for this type of thing, come to think of it you could probably get an app to monitor your running background processes too. Alternatively there is also an official fan accessory/attachment available for the Samsung gear to assist in keeping your phone cooler. Good luck.
Tech With Brett Well here's my tip. Clean the front lenses, the inside of the front casing and the front cover and when it's not in use, keep it closed. Before use, wipe your phone down thoroughly to remove any grease or finger prints that might make dust stick to the phone surface. Unlatch the front cover and set the unit aside away from your clothes and skin. Open up an app or picture with a white image, Samsung VR is a good example, and wipe any noticeable pieces of dust off the screen. Before docking your device gently blow on the screen to loosen any light pieces of dust that might have just touched it. Then proceed to dock. If you look through your Gear VR and see a piece of dust first clean the face side lenses, if it's still there press the home button and gently open the latch with the phone still docked and blow on the screen, then proceed to close it again. Any dust after a thurough clean will be surface particles and should come off easily. The Gear VR has many docking issues so making sure your screen and lenses are clean before use massively reduces frustration and improves your VR experience.
Hello, your Samsung device should have a quick toggle to share your screen wirelessly, in One UI it is called smart view but if you have an older version it may be named differently, there should be an option somewhere in the settings too.

No only you
You have the same headset as me
Anybody have tips to not overheat the phone? My S9 gets super hot after like 2 min and I dont wanna damage my phone
Good luck.
Not one single tip on how to clean your phone or the GVR lenses. I guarantee you this will be everyone's single most annoying problem.
It just didn't fit in my to 5. Definitely a must for best results.

Well here's my tip. The Gear VR has many docking issues so making sure your screen and lenses are clean before use massively reduces frustration and improves your VR experience.
i dont see a voice search on mine ?
Can I use headphones?
Yep! The 3.5mm headphone jack is still available for you.
@@TechWithBrett thanks for the response! also curious if bluetooth headphones would work...
I don't have the chromcast logo help!!!
Hello, your Samsung device should have a quick toggle to share your screen wirelessly, in One UI it is called smart view but if you have an older version it may be named differently, there should be an option somewhere in the settings too.
