The Gear vr is maturing so much since the S6. There are more games than I can afford to buy and there are so many that are really good.
As a warning though for the most part the freebies feel like cardboard ports. I've seen a lot of people try the Gear vr by getting a few freebies or gun jack which is really lame, and then dismiss it as a limited gimmick. You really have to try one of the higher quality premium titles before you really decide what you think of it. Dead secret, Term1nal, end space, Esper 2 are a few really great games that showcase what's possible even this early on. None of those games really max out on the capabilties though.
Thanks dude, was wondering why my screen was offset to the side, didnt realise about the switch between a and b, thought that might have just been for the adapter, so happy now.
Can also confirm the overheating issue has gone, played for 4 hours continuously and the phone only got warm, no more then when im updating the software
Also nobody ever
mentions that the new VR has the ability to download EVERYTHING to your SD card so your not taking up a ton of your on board storage. You can always buy another or a bigger sd card but once you run out of internal space your screwed.

Seemed like a very good quality product except that when the trigger button failed on me and I opened it up I was surprised at how poorly the trigger button is designed on the inside. The spring back of the trigger relies on just a piece of rubber that will wear out within months if you use it a lot on shooting games. Once this bit of rubber wears out the button will not spring back as there is no spring. Awful considering the price and any kind of heavy use will soon see it fail.
I bought one. I love interface Ann's apps. but... you can't adjust the distance in between the eyes on the lenses. So it hurts my eyes and looks a bit blurry. So now it's just worthless :(

For moving from a to b you can just push the front of the adapter down which will push the button and push in the direction you want it to go and it will move easily.
Horrible review. All 3 newer gear vr are the same. Just buy a controller and update the software. Or get a new phone

You forgot to put the leash on the controller and the controller belt on the side. Also, just use lithium rechargeable batteries in the controller. Good to hear screen protectors fit. Probably would color shift. Thanks for reminding about the hi res picture mode.
What about the resolutions?? Have it improved over the s7+2gen vr set up or is the quality is based off the phone display?

Hey i just bought mine today and its new edition specially for note 8 but the picture quality is not that good and I've been with button on the top and it improves a bit but still feels like that i waste my money so somebody please help me to clean the picture quality
inderjeet singh the phone display setting is probably set to 1080p. If so change it to the highest setting. Also there is a focus dial on top of the headset that can be adjusted.

Dan Haddock the only reason is because you need the the Galaxy app store to download the gear VR software to work
I have the first gen and a tempered glass screen protector and I don't notice any dots or anything like that. I bought the controller separately and installed a fan mod on my gear vr and I got the full kit for basically 30 bucks off of eBay buying all the items separately. Honestly would love to have the new one but for someone on a budget this is hugely entertaining.

I got it. The resolution is terrible on the Note 8. People make it look good when they show the output input on youtube, but what they don't tell you is that's not the actual quality you see. Perhaps on a 4K resolution phone it would be worth it. I wasted my $.
