also check out Flexible Exposure Mode, its super nice and lets you controll the camera like a sony camcorder. It lets you quickly change from auto Av/Tv to manual without needing to stop recording just by pressing the assigned button. I recoment setting Tv to always Manual and only set up Av Auto/Manual Switch to a button. ISO Auto/Manual Switch sadly is still missing but i think it gets added later with firmware. Red Menu, [4], Exposure Ctrl Type.
Probably depends. I think they’re a great combo, but it seems the only advantage to the FX6 is the built in audio capabilities and electronic ND filter
I've got this combo. Things FX6 has over the a7S III that I've noticed so far is of course the electronic nd, xlr inputs, top handle, side adjustable grip, sdi, waveform, shutter angle and a fan. I'm sure there's more differences but they are the ones that come to mind initially 👍
Like everyone else I really like the content in this video, Really helpful for first time sony user. I unfortunately couldn’t find the marker display in the movie settings menu. Is that because I didn’t insert the sd card? Or do I need to upgrade the firmware?
Thanks for the info - My a7siii will always be set to manual focus as default - ie. I can be in auto focus but if i turn the camera off and back on im now back in Manual - not sure if this is just how it is or if I've accidentally set it up this way....any tips would be much appreciated - cheers man!

@@gstockvideos8085 think it's 1600 ISO for standard pic profile, 12800 ISO for slog-3, A7S3 is awesome to switch to, with things like 4k120, improved ibis, selfie screen & the new touch menu which is way better than previously confusing non-touch menu system
QUICK TIP on the dual ISO: just multiply the base ISO by 20x and you get the exact number when it switches. (Slog3 640 * 20 = 12800) much easier to remember.

No matter the settings I've tried it keeps doing it. I thought it was full frame. What am I doing wrong how can I get rid of it? My canon never did that
Hey! I am trying to figure out a solution to a problem I'm facing. There are times when I need to shoot in 24fps, 30fps or 60fps in a video shoot. Changing from one setting to another takes me going to the menu, changing the fps, changing the shutter speed then changing either to aperture or iso because of the change in exposure/shutter speed. I'm trying to figure out if there are presets or settings that easily and effectively switches between the different fps without going through all of the steps mentioned above. Thanks!
Hello Brahh ! every time I rec the camera makes a picture it frame in a diferent folder (THMBNL) . I don´t want this to happen . I want no pictures . Where can i set it on my camera ? i can´t find it ! Thanks
And another video suggestion is when you import raw photos or videos into your mac how to preview them and how to organise them and then import them in your editing software as am still struggling with this a a person who owns a camera (a7siii ) for the first moving from shooting on an iphone. There aren’t any videos to explain this workflow and this might be a good content to consider
@@DustinArmstrongPro I edit both on macbook final cut pro x and iPhones Video leap app. Yet the process to preview the videos or raw photos on a mac is still a problem without having to open a project on final cut and dropping them their to view them at the least
For videos, I film mostly at 4K HS at 420 10 bit and those should be able to be previewed from the finder. For RAW photos I edit in photoshop and I believe you can preview them if you have photoshop? I could be wrong but yeah I won’t be much help in final cut. Some codecs/files you just can’t preview in the finder. I’d download Sony’s “catalyst browse“ software and you should be able to preview everything least video wise in there. Not the best solution but might be easier then pulling it into final cut. Hope that helps
@@DustinArmstrongPro i have tested it and is actually previews in hs but not in any other format which is weird but non the less thank you for the tip 👌🏻 not a photoshop guy and unfortunately lightroom misses up for quick previews so might as well stay stuck with the image edge program. 🙌🏻
I believe you have to change the settings in manual mode to what you want. Then theres a setting called "memory recall" in the menu and using that mode you save those settings to 1 2 or 3. Then when you switch to those modes, it'll recall the settings you saved on that mode. Sorry I can't remember it off the top of my head
I have them on some videos, but when you’re a one man band and don’t have a lot of time to make these videos, sometimes I get lazy and don’t feel like adding them haha. One day I’ll be more consistent on adding timestamps
Trying to count 4.3 stops hurts my head lol. I wish they could just add a marker or change the color of the native ISO's in the menu so regardless of picture profile you'd always know the optimal starting point.
Haha yeah it’s kind of annoying. There’s another trick someone told me in the comments that’s a little easier you might be able to find. Can’t remember exactly what they said. That would be really nice though if Sony implemented that
Do x20 your minimum ISO for that Picture Profile you are in. To make sure, go into settings and, under ISO and see what the minimum is. Then do that x20. Slog3 base ISO is 640. 640 x 20 = 12800
