I've rubbing down some doors ready for painting and I kept singing and thinking about that very line. For years I've been saying to people who don't really do anything with their lives but sit around moaning that this is not a rehearsal this is it no second chances but "welcome to your life, there's no turning back" sums it up perfectly, better than I ever did
I was in the military when this song came out. It might have been my theme song and what got me through that rough period of my life and it still lifts me up to this day!
You have to cling on to what you can get man. Little things like this help me get through the tough episodes of life. One more year until my ETS date, just have to endure until then. Take care.
Curt & Roland... I cannot express the gratitude i feel for you both for having made my life a better experience. Being a source of happiness, inspiration, support and comfort. You two are eternal and occupy a big and important part in the history of music, culture and, specially, many lives all over Earth. Simply... thank you. ❤❤❤❤
@@leonwns610 It's not so muc h he singing that's bothering people so much just all the other racket that's going on in the background. There's a video on here where they did a recent gig in the US in front of 50 "super-fans" and they weren't making a racket. They did all sing along out loud when they sang 'SHOUT'
Atarru this is not a funeral song. I think this would be sung at a wedding, if not a party. I remember this song when i growing up in the 80s. I'm not a big fan of Tears for Fears. I'm more of a r&b, pop, and hip hop fan, but I like this song. It still rocks.
I was in the hospital, bed ridden for 4 months with a dicey pregnancy and this was the song I played over and over and still love it to this day ...even better, I had a healthy, beautiful baby girl!
You brought so much joy by reuniting with your former band mate ! We will keep attending your concerts wherever in the whole wide world w ! WE LOVE YOU. THIS WAS PART OF OUR FAMILY GROWING UP !
I know there were ALOT of great songs from this era in music but, gosh, I feel like this sometimes could be labeled as like the best one for me when it comes to this genre of music!! Just brings back so many memories for me of junior high, high school...marked certain moments of my life. T4F was just such a great group now and still!
Curt & Roland were a Special combination. Songs: Standing on the Corner of a 3rd World, Sketches of Pain, Advice for the Young at Heart ( among many others ). Incredible singers, songwriters & musicians. oNe LovE from NYC
The eighties were very awesome and i got sober and it was even more awesome lol 😂 i could actually remember songs and really the ones that I loved the most . 😊
The band are playing, lets talk over them and shout at them. Its a performance not a sing along, shut up and listen, shout hoot clap whistle as much as you want at the end of the performance in appreciation, not during.
oOMonkeyMagicOo it looks like at 1:33 he's signaling to the audience to sing along. See him raise his hand? But ya, the audience definitely needed to show some respect. Maybe there was a lot of 🍺🍸🍾🍷
I played to a similar party crowd a few years back. Wealthy and loud as I recall. I was just a neighbor who was asked to play a couple acoustic songs. Folks came up and talked about me, in front of me, while I was playing and singing 2 feet away...”hey he’s pretty good”, and asking me “what song is that?”, vs waiting the full 2:45 sec the song took. Happens all the time. Some folks are inherently trying to undermine your talent, one that they don’t, and cant possess. Others are just drunk or tabbed out and wanna make noise. I went electric so I can drown the assholes out if needed. Thank God I don’t have to play for a living.
"Welcome to your life, there's no turning back." I think I understand now.
Easy.....the planet is fkd, there's no turning back.
true....takes a bit. but when you get it...
I agree. I didn't fully grasp it in 1985 at 16, but now? Wow
I've rubbing down some doors ready for painting and I kept singing and thinking about that very line.

Yeah that line just kind of hit me like a ton of bricks one day
One of the best songs of the 80's - or in history, for that matter.
History surely!
100% agreed!
@@isaacalderson769 I’m pretty sure there must have been Roman Soldiers or Medieval chamber maids that could sing that would make your heart melt.
Ummm..hard NO! LOL
How so?
Ohhh you lucky boys and girls who got along to hear Mr Smith live, what a joy.... what treat... what a singer.....
Curt hasn't lost any of his vocals. So superb and smooth.
ONLY Curt can do that song justice. When I hear that song on the radio, his face is the one I see & his voice is the song.
Mir geht es genaus so❤❤❤
Kurt Smith comes to your house for a party. This is the best You Tube video EVER!
Having performed unplugged myself a few times, it's such a hard thing to do, this is not only brave, it's sweet and he's sounding superb
Small crowd compared to TFF. I'm sure he was more nervous playing to 25,000 people years ago
@@jimbailey5681 Actually, it's the other way around...
That Curt can sure project his voice without a mic. Even over the cackle of a hen house.
😂
it would be nice if the crowd would be quiet
ikr. where is the respect.
balor7 I agree but look how he is not phased total class act
Like you're not singing along at home!
balor7 it's a very small crowd... They probably paid (donated) a LOT of $ to be there... So he doesn't care.
I hate when they not shut the fuck up...specially bitches
Curt is like a metronome, it's insane. Awesome voice and timeless song.
I was in the military when this song came out. It might have been my theme song and what got me through that rough period of my life and it still lifts me up to this day!

plugged or unplugged these guys are real artists
Absolutely
Tears for Fears best song always preferred Curt singing lead and a great unplugged.
So glad I was there in the 80s, musicians had real talent.
I can't stop smiling watching this
😊😊😊
Still slayin' it, Curt! True test of a vocalist is an informal a capella performance like this. xxx
He's got acoustic guitar backing him

this was epic, seeing the legend that sold millions of records with mega hits perform at a house party. once in a lifetime my friend
Hate that crowd!
Love Curt Smith's voice!!
The dude is a legend!!
To those complaining about the audience: Admit it. You'd be excited and you'd sing along if Curt Smith did a show in your living room.
Nope!
100% agree. Can't blame them

hell yeah
there's not a singer alive that doesn't want everyone to join in, especially if it's on one of your own songs
Mr. Smith is so beautiful! 💞
The man has done it appreciate the moment ffs and Don't blame anyone they were there and we weren't
Never tire of hearing that song. 🥰 love it
I want this song played at my funeral

No meu funeral também cara!
I do too
That'll leave 'em guessing.
One of the best songs of the 80s. Damn I miss them days & would give anything to go back! Life was just fun back then!
a classic, come to Brazil guys
"Everybody loves this song."
The music! Wonderful music!!!

And I'd just been discharged from nicu having been born at 24 weeks in the August. It makes my dad feel emotionaL

Music is contagious. This video proves and is awesome too.
Curt you are frigging awesome!!
Just saw them in concert at Madison Square Garden for the Tipping Point tour. What a trip down memory lane!
he really can sing this tune best song they made by far, brilliant
To the person who was whistling. They should have thrown you out for doing that.
That was rude to do that in the midst of a recording.
It thought it was a Budgie!
LilZebra a recording?
@@jokerman1964 how do you think you are watching this video
Love his spirit!!
One of the ALL time best songs!
Brave ! A standing ovation to Curt and his little band,
Love this song and his voice is just that his voice truly sounds the same I love his voice
This is the most true to life song ever written and sung. Wish both of them were there singing.
Wow this is very unplugged, Curt don't need no mic :D

Love hearing a version that doesn't sound exactly the same.
I'm not sure why, but I am just such a huge fan of Curt. In part because of Psych.
Fabulous!!
i miss you Curt with Roland
Why? They are still together and producing albums.
I love love this song so much. I never get tired of hearing it. ❤❤
