Curt just seems like a great guy to hang out with. And what a fantastic vocalist.... Dudes in a corn field, on a swing singing one of his greatest hits. The drummer is playing a friggin box and the only other instrument is some archaic contraption that most people have never heard of. As if that wasn't challenging enough, the microphone/camera is basically a potato crossed with a brick. And it sounds just as amazing as ever. Mind blowing.
I know right. Some folks here complain about what Jamie is banging on and other crap. But when you think about it the way you did, it's just epic and speaks so well of who these men are. Thank you for this.
How awesome is this?!? That is incredible and the fact Curt Smith is just kicked back, swaying on a porch-swing belting out along the beautiful playing just takes it to 1000

That performance was outstanding! Those kids are going to remember that moment for the rest of their lives. Such a lucky family! So much talent! And Tears for Fears in person!? OMG! OUTSTANDING! SUCH BIG HEARTS! SO BEAUTIFUL!
It goes to show that a truly well written song carries itself even without a full band. That was so very charming and gorgeous to listen to. Thank you so much for the magic.
It helps that Ted is playing equivalent of about 8 instruments on his hammered dulcimer! On the original video he posted he even played a percussive accompaniment on a wood block (which I think sounded better than the one TFF’s actually does here...)
It almost brought me to tears... I was a kid when I first listened to this song. I've been always so in love with TFF's music, and this version is so full of magic. Beautiful!!!

A genuinely amazing moment captured and shared for the betterment of humanity. And the lyrics have never been more apt than they are now. Thanks TFF and Yoder!
The way of determining a good synthpop song is breaking the arrangement down to a singular acoustic instrument and seeing if it still works. And this ABSOLUTELY does. Amazing song, amazing arrangement.
Jacob- It's in Nashville with about 7 other songs- Ted will be back in the studio in June to complete his parts. We hope to be releasing in July. :) It's COMING!!!!
That was so cool. Thanks for inviting us, out here in RUclips land, to a "private" backyard serenade by the iconic Curt Smith. Reminds me of a group camp-out our 30 or so member group had many years ago in the hills above Ojai, CA, One the campers brought his friend, David Crosby, for one of the evenings unbeknown to everyone beforehand. We were all sitting around the bonfire, when a couple of folks stroll over to the fire with some camp chairs and a guitar. Thought the guy with the wild white hair and guitar looked familiar! Never expected, but we had a blast for many hours singing, story-telling and singing and more story telling until the wee hours of the morning. I'll cherish the memory forever, miss you David - RIP...........

Tears for Fears opened for Hall n Oates, in Nashville, back in May of 2017. T. for F. completely blew me away. They were so good. This guy is correct; if you have an opportunity to see T. for F., GO! They jam out! Their sound is crystal clear and is booming. They rock out!
Ted, I'm a massive fan and lover of your dulcimer covers. I don't think there's enough dulcimer players on RUclips. I'm actually incredibly grateful for your existence. I think that it was awesome of Curt and Jamie to collaborate with you on this. This is a stunning cover of a truly beautiful, nostalgic 80s song. No lights. No microphones. Just playin’ and singin’.... This is music !
It reminds me of what the essence of true talent really is. No tricks, no gimmicks, no sleight-of-hand. It's power is in it's complex simplicity.
I'd kill for a version of this with better microphones.
Indeed. If only I was close :P
Or not filmed vertically. Damn savages. This needs to be illegal.
Facebook Live forces vertical video which drives me nuts.

Why underrated? In the 80's they achievied great results in charts and by critics. Their first three albums sold very well .
