I love how you being fully open instead of just putting good soundin shit and pushin ppl to buy ur template. I dont know how to explain how much progress u did on me with that videos. Im an artist not a engineer, i was about the give up coz i learned making beats then i learned i need to mix it oh it done then master it everythin good? Track vocals mix it then master it and get dissapointing results im really about the give up haha but ur vids the only thing im still hangin there. I hope one day ill be reach a sound good as u are. Thank you for every good vibes u bring on us.
I began recording and mixing as a hobby this year. I’ve seen dozens of tutorials and this simple 4 step tutorial has been one of the most helpful!!! First time my basic doubt of recording with effects on or off has been answered!!! Thanks.
dude, you are a BEAST with all these tips. you deserve millions! thanks for the gem and God bless you brother. To all the aspiring producers, engineers, or even artists, don't be afraid to put in the time to watch ALL these vids! Invest the time and watch it give back to you. I hope all of you find the level of success which you seek.
Yup... You on it, Devon!!! For dynamic SINGERS aka "BELTERS" minimum 3"-6" distance from microphone with -18db-12db-10db depending on dynamic vocal For mild low dynamic vocal singers -10db recording intake and "3 distance from microphone.
Another great vid Devvon! I've been using the PF8 Pro mic shield you recommended, thing works very nicely with a foam mattress behind me. I def need to do the last technique you mentioned more, I hate hearing my voice dry when recording.
Might not see this but I've recently just did everything in this video! I recorded a track and had my plugins on, had my mic filter inches away from the mic, and recorded my vocals low enough to only have the focusrite hitting green even at the loudest part. This was a game changer for my recordings.
This is awesome info!! Thank you!! I just started to record my own voice and it's so different recording yourself versus someone else. Your videos are really helping me work out the issues.
I stand to be corrected, but in FL studio, the plugin effects are actually burnt into the recording, so I find it very limiting to record with plugins engaged. So I only record with the T-racks mic room plugin to emulate a better sound and a CLA compressor for slight peak reduction. Great video btw, love your stuff!
Wow man you're amazing bro, I see you from Argentina, I do not understand English but you still understand that I would like it to have subtitles greetings bro.🔥
Great video! for people who can't afford mic shields and acoustic treated rooms. gate plugins come in handy also! stock gate / C1 Gate/Sc / Fab filter G .... also c1 Gate/SC has a good depopper preset!
Bro you can cop a mic shield from 50-100 bucks the gate thing can sound really bad. A gate will only try to mask whats there. a mic shield can help limit that from the recording
The Internetz I could show you countless of recordings I’ve recorded with this thing in hotel rooms, bedrooms etc. it makes a HUGE difference I don’t believe anyone that has made a video saying other wise huge mistake in my opinion to not having one in a room that is not optimal
@@HelpMeDevvon I trust you! When I get back to the states I'll have to try it out! the gate plugins can still do a really great job for bedroom producers etc. I've occasionally used X-Noise also!
When I spoke with the workers at Guitar Center they also said the Mic Shields make a very small difference! but small differences can be a big difference in the end! will have to try it out!
Love your videos! Definitely learning a lot from you! Thank you. I just had a question, what mic stand were you using in the video??? I’ve been looking for something but can’t find a good one :/
devon can you please make a tutorial on cubase 5 mixing and mastering with stock plugins i am new and just getting in to mixing and mastering this year please please please
Could you do a “How to sound like Toosii” sound or something. I know he uses Waves H Delay, Auto Tune Artist, Reverb and compresions. I hope that helps and you could do a video like that !
Great video! I think you should do a video that goes into detail with step 4 tho or if you have a previous video that goes into detail of step 4 and leave a link to it in the description. Thanks for all your helpful videos. There is only about 3 people I watch on this topic
I been watching your videos all morning. I feel like I really hit a gold mine THANK YOU
Aye Saika!! No doubt! Ahahaha
I second that.

I have the Halo mic shield but I’ve been looking to add a more compact one like yours here. Might I ask which one that is?
You are such a great teacher. Thank you for all that you do!!
Another great vid Devvon! I've been using the PF8 Pro mic shield you recommended, thing works very nicely with a foam mattress behind me. I def need to do the last technique you mentioned more, I hate hearing my voice dry when recording.

I’ve watched two of your videos so far & I’ve learned so much more compare to other videos I’ve seen. Keep it up my guy 👏🏾

Wow man you're amazing bro, I see you from Argentina, I do not understand English but you still understand that I would like it to have subtitles greetings bro.🔥
I wanna buy your mixing template for this beat... Do you have it?.. How much?
Very on point. Careful with #2, needle meters are slow and you may be way over -10 even if you see it there.
Can you maybe upload the stems of one of your own songs so we can practice with good quality recordings? Really like your songs btw!
His template comes with vocals I think
good idea!
Actually the template does not come with vocals but if you google acapellas you can find some really high quality stuff.
Ill keep that in mind for you guys!!
Can I use template on studio one?
Can u do a video of Logic Pro x app. Like teach us the basic for the vocals on that
You are the best Devon
Wonderful tutorial. Very well spoken and clear. I learned a lot. Thanks for making this.
