    I recently had the chance to rent a room in my apartment complex. Unfortunately it was an acoustic nightmare. In my video I'll show you what I did to make a beautiful and great sounding recording studio.
    I'll show you the difference between soundproofing a room and sound absorption and what materials are best for which case. Since my room is a souterrain room (almost basement) it's also very moist. 'll show you which materials are best for moist rooms also. Acoustic treatment doesn't have to be expensive, if you know where to place your absorbers. I'll show you how to do that.
    Hope you like it and find it helpful. If so, please share the video and give it a thumbs up.

    Awesome remake of the room to your specs! Beautiful studio and all that work will bring so much more love and life to it! Let me tell you I am a face-to-face type of student and if I was located in your area, I would have been one of your students years ago when I first found your channel. What a beautiful studio! Very funny and cheerful ending BTW!C! Congratulations and cheers!!!

    Oh, I had no idea you were also an Audio Engineer, my friend. 🤗
    Not sure if I've ever told you, I'm an Audio Engineer /live producer here. 😊
    If my pencil sketch plans to return home to Scotland in 2024, I'd love to fly over to your country and maybe see one of your gigs or, if it's allowable, see your studio. 😊
    Happy New Year, dear friend. 🙂

    You say at the end that it cost not much money , can you indicate a rough cost estimate also mentioning the cost of an expert (imagine you had to pay your friend officially ) that would really wrap up this excellent vidéo
    Happy 2024 and many success

      Not including the wall and equipment, I would say it was about €5000 incl. the desk (has a built in motor to go up and down), floor, absorbers, bass traps. I'm not sure what the measurement would've costed. I'm guessing 500. But you'll probably won't have to invest as much as me, bc that place was really crappy. Most peopke need only one ceiling absorber, not 6, and only 1 basstrap in each corner, not 2. And tjose were the most expensive items. Substract 500 for a non motorized desk and you'll probably be dealing with 3000.-.

    I really enjoyed this one Sandra, I record a lot at home but only direct. Do you ever record direct? Diligent Jazz Bee reporting LOL.

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I actually record all my tutorisls directly into the RME Hammerfall soundcard. The only time I use an amp and a mic is for my gypsy guitar (acoustic) and when I review amps or the acoustic sound of a jazz guitar.

  • @fritsvanzanten3573

    Just wondering, did you just rent a room and then made an analysis of the sound characteristics? Would it be possible first to asses the characteristics and only then decide to take it or not? To me it seems it needed a lot of work. Could one prevent that?

      The room is right below my apartment. I've been waiting to get out for 30 years. I didn't care what it was or how it sounded. I knew I'd put some money in. It was less expensive than I expected.
