A cliffhanger?!!! Noooo!!!!! This build looks so good. Can't wait for part two. Nice work so far!
Great cliffhanger! My prediction: “it turns out that we built on top of an old septic system, which now can’t be properly emptied. The shit is going to hit the cpu fan”
lol : )
Dropped his car keys inside the wall build
forgot the need for cables

The progress you’ve made over the years is both beautiful and exciting to witness. This is no longer a studio but a work of art! It must be preserved at all costs!
Congratulations to Wytse and the team, you all have done a fantastic job!
Im very excited to see measurments results before and after.
That before and after shot in the beginning was so perfect! Having the foresight to do it as you did shows a tremendous amount of thought and planning. Fantastic job!
MAN! This is turning out beautifully! What a Room!! A ton of work, of course, but it's beautiful! 😍
It's amazing the change of just the room sound you get in the camera as the build progresses and you add absorption.
Wow... This was such an epic thing to watch. Very inspiring. Thanks for planning both the studio and the capture of it all. True respect for what you and your team are doing. Looking forward to next episode.
Everything in this video was amazing! The amount of interaction, emotion, timing, and the cliff hanger at the end! Phenomenal. Cant wait for part 2
just ... WOW ! your passion to sound, especially the analog way of doing it, and all the work you put into it - just because you love it. it's amazing ... I am confident the work you put into your new room will pay out. I bet lots of musicians, bands, songwriters, and producers love that there's still some 'younger' people available trying to keep some of the 'old' ways of doing productions alive, while same time being able to take advantage of in-the-box. Thanks so much for this. I promise - If I ever can afford your service, you're the one.
Awesome to see how you've build the studio of your dreams over the last weeks! Congrats! I was really looking forward to that! Amazing video!
Wow you went all in there ! Very professional build. Congratulations!
Congratulations on your new studio.
I wish you many hours of enjoyment and great music.
It's looking great. Loved watching this, and can't wait for the spine-tingling conclusion!
Cool , thanks for showing us your process
Amazing progression, well done you, keep up the good work !
Great job! Can't wait! Congratulations!
this is very exciting! Can't wait to see the finished result! 🙌
Great job with the build, I love watching studio build videos.
Great show ! Fantastic to see the progress ! Looking already forward to the upcoming even bigger project "Haircut" ! Lots of reviews of different barbershops, choosing hairstyle locks or brush, timelaps haircut video ...!
We love you man. Congratulations on the awesome new studio.
This must have cost a fortune-building the ultimate room within a room-not to mention the loudspeakers😳 Happy for you-Sea! May you make awesome music!
Amazing cliffhanger! Thanks for the video. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
I'm excited to see the final product! And great cliffhanger too!
Wytse is levelling up! :D Congrats and cheers to new beginings! (Also the anticipation is kill me....)
Excellent work Wytse. Can’t wait to watch the next episode on your studio refurbishment. Awesome 😎 👏👏👏
It looks great! I can't wait to see part 2!
That is very cool man. Great ideas were put in place in the planning. Awesome !!!!!
looking great already !
I really love how things developed for you.
And yes even a complete studio work over needs a mastering process. ❤

I am so, SO HAPPY for you! and like everyone I cannot wait to see what's next, what a cliffhanger indeed!
Well, you totally surprised me, in a very good way. I loved watching this immensely. Can't wait for part duex.
Can't wait to see the result. Looks like a lot of work and money went into it.
Oh my gosh - so much work! Congratulations in advance : )
Very interesting. Congratulations on the new studio.
Very cool video, keen to see part 2!
This made me smile and smile and smile.
What ever might come- the young man will hopefully carry it out.
And! Very well edited!
i like this! this is fun, good use of sandstorm in the soundtrack!
😮😮😮😮 the tension and anticipation is real!
I like the way you convey the frustration and sweat equity in this video.. Just remember .. this will not be your last studio build...
Wow. 0:39
Congratulations on the build. Already looking amazing :) can't wait to see the new episode
Geweldig om te zien! Looking forward to the next episode :-)
This was really fun! :) Looking forward to the follow-up.
Can't wait to see the result...I wish I could do the same with my studio.
Looking great man!
This is becoming beautiful!
Welcome Back! Looking good!
The best video from any that I subscribe to that I’ve seen in at least 2 years. You’re excitement and enthusiasm are infectious and contagious. Superbly done White Sea. I’m watching it again immediately!! Thanks for doing what you do. Keep it up. This was extremely entertaining, informative, funny, and honest. Not a bad thing to say. Thanks again!🙏. I’m hanging by a thread in anticipation for the next installment. Thanks again again. 🙏
this is exactly a new chapter in life vibe... amazing video
Looks really good! Great video!
New to your channel but already addicted as hell!!! Love your videos and can't wait for the next part !!!
congratulation !!!!! dream transform in reality .... great Job
Nice man! Looks awesome!
Great to see a young man put so much work into a project that's not only stressfull, but also a lot to take on but will have such a sense of achievement in the end. I wish you the best with it, and may you reap the rewards that you deserve for years to come.
man i didnt expect this kind of video from you. the editing is so clean!
this is a serious upgrade Congratulations!
Looking great so far! I hope you fix the problem soon so that we can se the final setup.
Excellent studio refreshing!!!!
Cool. Very pro looking.
nice video! best comeback
Awesome and super happy for you :) I would be tempted to go back to old mixes after this haha... go forward and with success :)
That parting-shot was brutal... right until my head wrapped around what you did there.
Well, whatever the issue... I hope it' not THAT bad! lol
Can't wait to see your vision come to life!
I thought the surprise would be that you were now working with waves and had developed the best plug in ever made. With no screws.
My guess is that the isolation isn't good enough for the subs and the guy next door actually hears more bass.
I guess the same - or maybe a problem with bass cancellation in the sweet spot after placing the subs... but if so that should be solveable with phase shifting
Yeah it’s hard to tell if there’s any decoupling, but I bet those subs are traveling right into the frame and floor of the building
@@Soundmuffel How would phase shifting solve that?
@@michaelgraflmusic Most studio subwoofers have a phase switch or knob on the backside. About the technical side, there is this clip of Adam Audio explaining the technical part of it better than I could do here: ruclips.net/video/QC5f4JzTCp0/видео.html
We are talking about 3 seperate issues now.
Decoupling
Absorption
And phase...?
Phase isn't an issue as the subs and mids highs are in the same alignment.
There is no question that tge subs are coupled to the floor. That's a problem.
And tge 3 sheets of drywall will stop alot of mids and highs... but not bass.
My guess is they will have to add an air gap into that wall to isolate the room from the adjacent studio.
Noooooo! I DONT WANNA WAIT FOR PART TWO! Lolol guess I gotta. I really hope everything pans out well. The project is looking quite nice :)
Wow, great effort mate! 🙌🙌🙌
I know what a huge amount of time, sweat and tears this takes having done it before myself. It's definitely character building! 😆
That ending, epic... This should be on Netflix lol
4 layers of drywall… From a structural engineering point of view it’s still relatively lightweight. If you want to block sound (low frequencies in particular) I would start with “kalkzandsteen” blockwork which is heavy. A 300mm thick wall should be good😁. However, that would have required structural modifications to the building (mind the foundations, consult structural engineer first). I would have framed the wall with a cavity instead of layering it up against the existing wall. You made it a bit heavier, but a cavity could have made it even better. I am a structural building engineer by trade but for a project like this I would have consulted firms like “Peutz” or “Nieman” who are specialised in building acoustics. The mineral wool is pretty good stuff, but it’s very itchy. I hated working with that stuff when I was an intern at a builder, it made my hands itchy and the fibers would get in my hair, had to wash it out every day. I’d rather build something virtually in the computer rather then physically. Building is back breaking work in a dusty environment, I’d rather design and have someone else put it together 😁. I am curious about that cliffhanger though.
If the room were bigger, sure. At that size lopping 30cm off isn't just a sliver; that's a fairly sizeable chunk of real estate and he does have some fairly bulky analog gear that requires a decent amount of space when he moves it all back in. Unless, of course, you're the type that finds the thought of doing mixdowns inside the Apollo lunar lander appealing where there's so little space that leaving the room becomes enough of a hassle that adult diapers start sounding like a reasonable proposition.
And regarding rock wool I have a high tech Top Gear Top Tip: They're called gloves. I'm much the opposite, I love working with my hands and building things. To me there are few things on this earth more satisfying than standing back and looking at a finished project and knowing that I'd made it with my own hands. The creation of a physical object that was not there before or was hidden inside a block of wood or slab of stone. There's something godlike about creation, albeit on not nearly as grand a stage or scale. Its not accompanied by any sense of omnipotence or anything ludicrous like that, but in my little "universe", my 15 foot sphere of influence...I created that. But that's just me. Whatever tickles your pickle :-)
@@diemturner5755 I'm aware that space is limited, but it would not affected the room for the gear much. Consider that the new wall has quite a bit of framing by itself. I'm afraid that the improvised solution with pasting 4 layers of dry wall on an existing wall without knowing the characteristics of that existing party wall might not get the desired result for his neighbour studio of blocking low frequencies. It comes across to me as an improvised solution that isn't really thought out. The mass of 4 layers of drywall is very low, about 80 kg/m², a 300mm concrete wall about 720 kg/m². Consider the door in the existing wall, that's a potential weak spot in the soundproofing. What I would suggested is to first investigate how the existing party wall is put together, and then make design first before you start building. This is something where an analytical approach can make a difference between a sub-par solution versus a really great (but very costly) solution. Everything else looks so neatly done, except this little detail which is a bit of wild card. If you design a home studio it would not matter as much (but mind your neighbours), but for a professional envoirnment you don't want to take any chances. The companies I mentioned have a lot of experience with desiging concert halls, cinema's and other acoustically demanding buildings. Dr. Mix recently built a new studio and got it designed by specialised consultants. As a hobbiest in a bedroom studio I'm fine with mixing on headphones, but if I had the space to built a proper home studio, I would put some care in the design to prevent noise complains from the neighbours (my own neighbours are rather noisy, in the netherlands terraced houses are common and noise / sound insulation is always an issue due to cost).
@@dykodesigns I'm thinking of blocking sound without losing space...what about that mass loaded vinyl that he put on the floors in between the sheets of the drywall?
@@teabreakbeats A floating floor is always a good thing to do, but pay carefull attention to the joins with the walls. In appartment buildings, floating floors are quite common. The usually comprise of a cement screed poured on a layer of EPS (styrofoam). The perimeters are isolated form the walls with 20mm of styrofoam as well, so that the cement screed doesn't touch the walls. If you build a home studio (for a drum kit for instance) you can also use Wytse's technique with Underlayment boards on soft insulation material. Works really well.
@@dykodesigns thanks!
great job!
Wytse I am SO excited for you and and the same time I'm pumped to see the conclusion of this video to see your brand new (and well deserved) digs!
I can't wait, so please don't make us wait too long! lol
The next video is on the channel....
The Non Environment Hidley control room normally has front walls in diffusion (solid materijal) rather than absorption. It is important that the speaker is flush with the surface.
14:39 Oh, oooh!! This is great!
Love it!
Was für ein gemeiner Cliffhanger!!!
Nice work bro!
I'm currently dreading stripping my gear down and doing a rebuild. This is encouraging! Cheers!
Went back and paused at 0:40; drooled and day dreamed. Can’t wait for episode two.
Noooo I wanted to see the end, looks awesome so far!
This goes to my top 10 Cliffhangers... ^^ great video
Wow! Good busy Wytse! 😃 Sooo exited for the end result! 👏👏👏👏 Goodluck! 👊
(greets from the guy you met in the cafetaria a few weeks ago 😊)
I alway watched your videos, I loved it.. and those were useful..
Congratulations. You really are growing.
Awesome wytze!!!!!
your editing skills are sooo good haha awesome!
can't wait for the next part

Nice work, congratulations! I'd be biting my fingernails waiting for part-2, if I had any fingernails left after worrying about the wacky-is it real?-wonder-bug! Good to have you back.
Studio build is 🔥👍🏾🔥 I wanna here this room in person
Green Glue between various depths of drywall works wonders
Thanks, now i'm really frustrated. Much lov, stoked to see what's next.
Whoa! That ending was a punch in the gut. I can't wait for the next chapter of "the next chapter".
I've been a fan of the channel for quite some time, and to see you making this progress is great! Those speakers look ridiculous!
Too late to mention. But i made my own ceiling construction. Thin wooden frames and Ecophon Masters. Just mounted them and covered in fabric on the ground like a thin absorber, then screwed hooks and stuff in and hung them. Took me 10 minutes of installation and no tired arms. ;) for next time!! Excited for the cliffhanger. Did you forget to wire them up? Or someone accidentally knocked a cone?
Very very very cool video
Congrats
I am glad to see your room gets an update! I wish I could do that to my room in regards of soundproofing everything, though I don't have a Lennart at hand! Why did you put the subwoofers on top? Is it because of the resonance of the ground?
really nice Studio
LETSGOOOOO!!!!!
one small detail that white sea and other audio channels like dan worrall and goldensound put effort into is the music levels. I feel I can trust you and put my audio levels so I can comfortably listen to the vlogs/videos without my ears getting destroyed by the music or effects. I appreciate it a lot! so many RUclipsrs don't do keep an eye on loudness but it adds so much to the quality of the videos
I wholeheartedly second this! Badly mixed audio is everywhere on RUclips and it can be pretty annoying. It doesn't take a lot of time to double check an edit and tweak where needed, yet some people appear not to bother.
A simple trick to make a comfortable sounding edit is to put a ProL2 on te master channel and make sure that you don't have any gainreduction when there is playing music (so you need to lower the music channels) and 6 db of gain reduction when there is some dialoge. This is as a starting point to create a fast balance between spoken word and music.
Your excitement really shows and it's inspirational! It's really awesome to hear you walk down the hall and into the room to hear the differences in acoustics. A couple of details I missed - what was the room height before and after the dropped ceiling, and how thick was the acoustic material you laid on top of the ceiling tiles? Also, I want to know so much more about your speaker system! Is it custom? Are those two 18" subs? How many watts are driving them? (The producer on the other side of the wall is going to be shaking haha). Looking forward to the next video!
Yeah, working on stuff like ceilings = very tough. You need to take care of your shoulders when you work above your head. Looking forward to part 2!
Very cool video! Having built five studios myself so far, I can well understand the amount of work ... and also the uncertainty factor until you hear the result. Despite a lot of planning and calculation, acoustics always is a lot of trial and error. 😉
Hard man dit soort projectjes, ziet er vet uit!
