    Coming from the more recent videos to these older ones I can sens distinct lack of metal and being yelled at to PAINT MORE MINIIIIIIS !
    Thanks, Scott. I'm seeing those videos a month too late but i've been learning and trying to imitate what you do from more recent videos. But these ones help to hammer down the basics.
    Cheers from France.

    poster putty, for avoiding painting the surfaces that are gonna be glued later on. and for sticking the minis on the wooden blocks or whatever. and clothepins (with toothpicks) for setting small pieces to dry.

      That makes two of us! I was actually taking a few notes, and it was unnerving, to say the least! Like, WHAT?! Chads are much more rare than people think. Rydjord, you're only the fourth I've ever "met," and I'm closing in on forty years old! Michaels NEVER have trouble finding license-plate key-chains with THEIR name on them... :D

    Rio Grande jewerly supply has a lot of tools suited for miniature work. Cilps, files, pliers, saws, razors, dremmel supplies, sculpting tools. They are reasonable in price comparably in any range from cheap Pakistani tools, German, American, and the expensive Swiss made stuff. I've been using the casting wax lately to help fill in gaps.

  • @TheClassicWorld

    You also forgot some very important 'tools'. A large green cutting mat, at least one daylight lamp, and a large solid table to be your painting table. (4 foot by 2 foot seems perfect. This is smaller than a dining table yet bigger than those small IKEA tables.)

    Brass Rod over Paperclips, don't skimp and think aluminium or copper/copper like wire will do the job as it will bend all over the place when you try to push one end into a cork, but will do for small joins if nothing else is available.

    Hey I'm very new to this. How do I pin my miniature to the wooden block as you mention @ 2:35 ? Thank you

  • @Aisaaax
    @Aisaaax 4 года назад

    since you're going as far as pinning and drilling the minis - I think you could also mention magnets. Magnetizing the base of the mini alone does wonder for storing them later, and you can magnetize different setups on the minis that use different weapons and stuff.
    Also you could say a thing or two about floc for miniatures, since you already mention sand.
    Finally, PVA glue is often better for basing, so you could add it into glue section.
    p.s. And I don't think that clippers are essential. You basically use them only for 1 minute to cut the pieces from the sprew, and honestly - you can use exacto knife + a bit of care for the same thing. You don't need an 8-15 dollar tool for that step.

    Question; i have citadel and army painter paints but ONLY my army painter black has problems. I will paint an area, and mysteriously an hour or two later a piece or scrape of black is gone. I repair it and later another. This continues until i paint over black with something. The black just looks chalky. It seems to come off with the slightest bump, shake or scrape. Im careful with my mini, so i dont see it scratching. I cant figure out why only black seems so sensative. Thankfully, nothing has needed black. I use it as a base to paint metallics over. Eventually, I'll need a strong black though.
