Andrea Riseborough - (does all of the research, intelligently explains the kind of person Svetlana was, gets into character, etc) Jason Isaacs - "Well I just read what was in the script and decided to play him like a swinging dick!" Love the contrast between these two.
Both were excellent in this comedy of fear, but Isaacs is wrong about the security of Zhukov’s position. Stalin DID demote Zhukov, in fact twice, only recalling him to Moscow a few months before his (Stalin’s) death. This was probably to balance against Beria, who had become the most powerful of the princelings, and who had been scheming for Zhukov’s further downfall. Stalin always acted promptly against the strongest of his henchmen, only differing in degree of the sanction. Zhukov had once occupied this place, and Stalin took care to take him down several notches; his restoration served as a neat check on Beria, and as an acknowledgment of Stalin’s genuine respect for his old warhorse. Isaacs correctly portrays Zhukov’s constant partisanship of the Army over the Party apparatus, he was instrumental in preventing the restoration of the power of the political commissars within the armed forces. Zhukov was in fact the person who carried out Beria’s arrest. Isaacs was an interesting choice for this role and carried it off with a wonderful haughty panache.

I just love her reaction and that look at inteviewer after he said that, lol
@@simpleman7203 She's a sweetie
Well I think she took creative liberty too. The real Svetlana doesn't seem to be neurotic like that.
Yet, following their own methods, they both gave the movie outstanding performances.
Jason Isaccs is an AWESOME actor!!!
He is Zhukov!
Just wanted to say hello to Jason Isaccas. Loved his portrayal in this.
Isaac's portrayal of zhukov was literally brilliant 💯
"Probably what kept her alive." Goddamn Jason Isaacs is on top of the material.
Jason Isaacs is so funny when he then said yes referring to Stalin’s daughter yes she changed it to Hitler I thought that was so funny.
Cool, yet scary film. Thank you for this :-)
Sorry, hello to Jason Isaacs too.
Awesome film, well done all who took part💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Andrea Riseborough ... since this she was Mandy (yes, in the film Mandy), Possessor, and the TV show Zero Zero Zero.
Her: "I played the role of such a fascinating woman of whom I've done a lot of research."
Him: *"I played a swaggering dick."*
Her: "Wow..."
Iannuci should have played Khrushchev
Where's my bronze medal ?
