I hate how she talks so negative about a country that affords her safety convenience and a much higher quality of life compared to many western countries. Nobody forced her to live in china she chose to live there. Also hate how she loves to expose Chinese ppl to pander to westerners that already have negative preconceptions of chinese ppl. This only feeds the racism these westerners already have for chinese. So disrespectful.

Dear Aina, thank you very much for the information you have given. You explain the topics very well and fluently. You are very helpful to everyone. Congratulations again and wish you success. Greetings from Turkiye Best wishes this is Ali BATU
The thing people don't understand about China and Chinese people is that there are large regional differences, like you mentioned. These are not just dialects but different languages and mutually unintelligible. My native tongue is Taiwanese, which is really Minnanhua. Same as what they speak in Fujian, where my ancestors came from 500 years ago. Cantonese is foreign to me. We are tied together by the same written language, which makes one Chinese can understand another Chinese. A lot of people don't understand this.
China is like a big family composed of multiple countries and races. Even Chinese people themselves do not understand the culture of many other Chinese cities.
You’re a gem 💎, and so is your highly interesting channel. I’ve been to China so many times (and to other 50 countries), and I must say that your vids are very informative. Subbed. Sad to see some strange comments here. 😞 Keep up with your great work, and all the best from Europe.
When I asked her out for dinner she said "I'm busy today. How about another time?" What she really meant was, "I don't like you and I never want to go to dinner with you." I finally figured it out after so many times I tried asking her out.😂😂😂
You are a very intelligent beautiful caring woman! Love your very interesting videos! I have learned about China from you I did not know before. Thank you!
Aina, I didn’t even know that you’re from Russia. You can pass as a true Northern Chinese or Korean. You have a good understanding of Chinese culture & customs.
She is Russian trying hard to look Chinese. She lives in China and criticizes the locals via RUclips, which is banned in China. She may soon get a knock on her door by the local police department.
@Aina | Expat in China, Cantonese and Hokkien (Fujian hua) predate Mandarin by more than 900 years. Mandarin is a northern dialect and only much later recognised as the official language.
Thank you for your information on modern China. I married an (American-born) Chinese woman almost 40 yrs ago. Her parents and two older siblings had escaped just as Mao was taking over and kept much of the old traditions while she was determined to be totally American. She loved to get beautifully sun-tanned which angered her mom; dark skin was for low-caste peasants. Like many Asians, drinking alcohol produced a bright red blush in her face which I've heard is due to an enzyme deficiency for metabolizing alcohol. She (and our son) was lactose intolerant, also common among Asians which is why cheese and other dairy is not part of their diet.
Cheese is lactose-free. I am severely lactose intolerant and can’t consume anything with the slightest milk in it, such as most bread and biscuits, but can consume cheese on its own. If she needs to, can use supplementary lactase in the form of vegan lactase capsules.
I learned a lot from your channel. I have to say, communication in Chinese culture is an art in of itself. I tried being “tactful” or linguistically creative but it never hit it home so I had to resort to blunt speeches, which of course offends people (没面子). If I spent four years in China, I probably would not have survived. Glad you made it.
In China, after getting married, Chinese men focus on career, while the wife still expects love. This is the main cause of getting divorced. If you are not meant to support your Chinese husband in his career, don’t get married to a Chinese man; come to the U.S. In the U.S. you can find as many “true love” as you want. It’s your body, you can end up with several kids with different fathers and nobody cares. Your kids will get 18 years of child support, after that, they will be homeless. You could see thousands homeless in the U.S.
Yeah but nobody wants those single mothers. Most of them are mentally ill. They are good for fun. Definitely not for wife unless u wanna battle bullshit ur entire life.
Very interesting content. I do like many things about Chinese culture and history. Some day I like to visit. I probably will be at odds with many of them as I am direct in communications, like to walk, don’t drink alcohol, I do like to garden though, lol. Funny too about the dialects, though there are some places in the south I would like to see. I like both rice and noddles so I won’t starve. Thank you for sharing and may the way of Heaven be yours!
I've been here 5 years, well almost (since May 2019) and I feel like you hit the nail on the head on all those points. I just realized that you use traditional characters instead of simplified which is sort of strange because it's usually a Taiwan thing and I thought you lived in Beijing or something. I love your videos, I have just subscribed and oh, you look CHINESE 😊😊.
From my personal experience interacting with chinese in-between 20 and 30 years old and my travel to china, it is way more individualistic than it might have been. It can depend on the social class and the age and probably some other parameters. What I noticed was that: -they are goals oriented and pragmatic, they have no other choice because it is hyper competitive -as a consequence time is valued very soon. And they will not trust someone as easily as westerners. The first thing that comes to mind if a chinese tries to interact with another chinese is why is he talking to me, what's his goal. Thus they mistrust others. Not the same with foreigners though. -they love money btw Other than that, I think those tables are pretty good
Germans like to walk a lot on weekends in forests or mountains with family. In Post-Soviet countries like to walk "guljat" more like every day outside the house with friends
I understand this asian habits with sunscreens. I myself always try to be protected with the sunscreen 50+ or 100, a hat and I try to be inside a building during the day. Im living in the north of Sweden and it is realky easy to evoid the sun if you don't make any lesiure activitirs outside. I have to buy suxh a "face-scrren" if I will travel somewhere there can be hot and sunny(like the middle europe haha in the autumn)
The main reasons why southern China has more dialects and sub-languages in the Chinese language family are because this is an area that has had a lot of migration periods, and more ethnic diversity, and also more difficult terrain that isolates the people more than in the plains of northern China.
I've experienced most of these with the Chinese community in my city. Also, my Chinese wife needs to avoid the sun. Her skin is actually much whiter than typical Chinese, so her skin is very sensitive. Wearing protective clothing is a must. We also joke about which bank she'll rob first haha.
Stop acting CIA or FBI. Everyone coming from the rest of world besides Europe and west have equal potential to thrive. It's not an old white men's superior complex world anymore
