Single dad here. I like simple, cheap, and short video recipes as to obviously I’m like every other American right now just trying to make it until the next check. Costs me about 15 bucks for everything I needed and it’s sooooo good. I ate it all day today and got a nice bowl for work when I go back. And this might be my recipe for chili from here on out.

Love this simple recipe! I didn't have cumin or tomatoes, so instead I substituted garlic powder and a can of Amy's chunky tomato bisque. It came out delicious! 👍👍
This recipe flat-out works. I'll also add chopped garlic, but not until it's about a half-hour before it's ready to serve. I can also substitute crushed red pepper for the Tabasco. I don't like it that much if I use them both at the same time, so I randomly choose just one or the other each time I make it. When I use crushed red pepper, I add it to the simmering onions at the beginning. I add butter & brown sugar, too. I also like trying out different kinds of canned beans, too. It never turns out the same from one time to the next, but it's always good.
This is an easy recipe as delivered. I made it last week with red kidney beans and McCormick's chili mix. So I changed it a little but still an excellent recipe. My husband loved it with fresh hot corn bread. It's raining here in Washington state and I'm making it again tonight. Thank you so much!!!

I drain the grease from the fried meat . I also drain and rinse the beans and I usually use 2 cans of kidney beans , 2 cans of stewed tomatoes , 1 whole onion , several cloves of garlic. Next comes the chipolata chili powder , salt , black pepper and let it simmer all day. Just before we eat I add about 1/3 of a pack of cooked elbow macaroni. Left overs can be baked the next day with a layer of cheese over them. Or just tossed in a bowel and microwaved.
I will try this recipe, thx for sharing! --> I have tested it today and I liked it very much. Its a very good recipe! I was actually going to just blow past this as I am a chef and have my own recipe, but I figured what the heck, I'll give it a watch, see just what is being labeled as the Worlds Greatest Chili. Well, I don't even have to make this to know that It's good! It is my recipe exactly! Well, almost! After the ground meat is cooked, I put some chopped garlic to it. I use petite diced tomatoes and will put anywhere from a half a small can of tomato paste to a full one. Helps to thicken it and kind of boosts the tomato richness. I will also use just a touch of either beef base or pork base depending upon which ground meat I use. I think this comes from my professional use of it and many home cooks are unaware of the boost that bases will give a dish. I keep just as many bases in my refrigerator at home as what I have in a commercial kitchen! Anyway, this is my basic chili recipe! Depending upon my mood, I am known to add a small can of diced green chilies, sometimes corn (frozen white shoepeg of course) and sometimes I am in the mood to put barley in it! Sometimes, just one of these additions, sometimes a couple, sometimes, ALL of them! Want a little corn richness to it? Thicken it up with some corn masa, the powdered stuff (once you have it in your kitchen, you will be amazed at how often you may use it). Anyway, as I said, I don't have to make this to know It's good! (There's a batch in the fridge right now as a matter of fact!) And he's right about the black beans! Much, MUCH better choice of bean!
You're a Chef? LOL What cooking school did you go to? A true Chef would drain off excess fat from the cooked meat. Fat does add some flavor but excess is removed, as any culinary school would teach. Most cooks know to drain and rinse canned beans because you're getting rid of excess starch, sodium, lectin and metallic taste that canned beans can have. For these 2 reasons I doubt your claim of being a Chef that you put out there. Barley, really? LOL And what form, dry or cooked? Masa? Yes that will thicken it, so will oatmeal, LOL.
Mr Rytte first of all, those are pretty much givens. If you HAVE to be told to drain stuff, you have bigger problems than not draining it provides! Then again, I guess if you're just buying udder burger (those chubs labeled "ground beef") ya, I would be concerned about draining it also, but once again, you have bigger concerns than the grease off of it! Use a quality product to start out with! Personally, I also start out with dry black beans and cook my own so I have control over such things as salt content and other concerns. I'm sorry, I did not take into consideration that those such as yourself, that need explicit instructions in all that you do, would be reading this. I will start writing instruction books in my comments just for people such as yourself. NOT!
And YES! Barley. Some put rice in their chili, barley just happens to be more flavorful and more nutrient dense. Barley is like brown rice on steroids. This from someone dunking peanut butter sandwiches in chili? I wouldn't knock anyones suggestions if I were you! If you are knocking using Masa, then I take it that you have not had much actual Mexican cuisine or even true Tex-Mex for that matter!. I'm not talking Northern Tex-Mex or tourist trap Mexico here either! A bowl of red chili such as this is more likely called chili con carne and IF it has beans in it as true Mexican food, will have black beans. Even true Texas chili has no beans, but is thickened with Masa!
In response to both of your replies. A Chef as you so boldly made your self out to be, wouldn't assume the draining of the grease as being a given when it wasn't stated or shown. Originally chili was a cheap meal and not made with top cuts and even made with leftovers at times. So you start out with dry beans. That's fine if you have the time to cook them first after a long soak. Do you parboil and drain? Oh that's right you couldn't even answer the form of barley you use, and yes I know well about barley. That's why I brought it up. And you avoided it, LOL. Could that be because you are just tossing things out to sound real? As for Tex Mex chili, never liked it, but to each their own, we cook to our own tastes. And I didn't knock anyone's suggestions since you have clearly searched other vids for me, so why the false retort? As for dunking PB peanut butter sandwiches, a spread made from roasted legumes. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Now if a person doesn't like beans in their chili, I wouldn't suggest trying it. I have doubts on you being a chef, but if you want to pretend, well it's youtube, LOL.
Come on people, the best chili is all about an attitude and personal taste. I call mine 'my world famous chili', but that of course is a personal joke, because any chili can be great if it's seasoned and cooked with the right ingredients. Note that I'm not saying what ingredients are right, because that depends on who is the cook and who is doing the eating!
You said yall would "greatly appreciate it" NO I APPRECIATE YOU! ❤ I have all of these ingredients but needed a bit more guidance and you made it so simple for me to understand! Thank u! 💜👌🏽
To all the self proclaimed chili snobs here. You're complaining about the beans in chili? If y'all knew beans about true Texas chili not only does it not have beans in it, it also has no tomatoes, and does not use ground beef! True Texas Red is little more than cubed beef browned in lard then cooked in a "gravy" of various dried chilies, toasted in a skillet, seeds and stems removed, soaked in hot water then blended or mashed with cumin, salt and pepper cooked with diced onions and garlic, thickened with masa harina. What he has posted here is a good general recipe for what America has come to call chili!
Texans way, way over-estimate the rest of the world's concern for how "real Texas chili" is made. This is also true regarding "real Texas BBQ" etc. ,etc. ,etc. Noboby cares how you do things in Texas.
1 pack McCormick Chilli Powder, 1 jar Pace Picante Sauce, 3 cans Bush Chilli Beans, 1/2 to pound of ground beef, chicken, turkey or pork. Brown meat add rest heat stir and eat.
Gotta say, just tried out this recipe because I saw it was a quick video and i had signed up for a Chilli competition with my office lol. Well, day before the competition and i just made your recipe. I gotta say, this is some damn good chilli. Thanks for the recipe!
Guys, a tip, because tomato is an acidic -component, to get the balance correct yu hv to add at least a spoonful + some sugar, to make the flavour more well rounded. When cooking a dish its like chemistry, you have to get the flavours correct for the taste buds on your tongue , so your tasting different note in the food, not just something thats beige, with one note, but a symphony of .flavours, thats the difference between a good cook & a bad one
I'm with the guy in the video, I like black beans in my chili, I like the smaller size and think they give a good color contrast to the dominant red color of the dish. The only thing I would do differently is to use one can black and one can kidney beans. Oh, and I would use some type of pepper, usually green bell pepper, sometimes red, and jalapeno peppers as well, because technically, it isn't chili without it. Chili refers to peppers, chili con carne means chili peppers with meat.
Great easy recipe. I always put bell pepper in mine and a couple cloves minced garlic but otherwise your recipe is pretty much right along with mine. Thanks for the ease of it all!
im new to cooking &want to add bell pepper to this but dont know at what point in this process to do that, would it be ok to add them at the same time as the beans
I agree. Myself I’ll lower heat very low and cover with a lid and stir every 15 minutes. After hour and a half adjust to your liking. But I believe by covering the pot you’ll have better taste of ingredients. You’re not cooking flavor away. To each his own
@SavageArfad I agree with that. You can add them in the beginning but I don't see a reason too. Especially if they are home cooked beans, because home cooked beans tend to have broken/bursted skins and they will break apart and go to mush if simmered too long.
Easy and delicious!! Try adding green red and yellow bell peppers, celery, lots of parsley and cilantro and a chopped sausage...to die for! Greetings from Chile
Cheeki Breeki iv damke you most certainly can. I make large batches and reheat as needed. Sometimes on the stove top, sometimes in the microwave. In the microwave, I usually use half power to reheat it so as not to get hot spots or burnt spots.
Instead of ground beef, try cutting up top sirloin into 1/2 inch squares. It's so much better to get an actual bite of tender beef. Bush's also makes Chili Magic in Mild and Medium. It has most of the needed seasonings in it already and requires less doctoring to get it to where you want it. I agree with many others that garlic is an important component missing from your chili. I add 4-5 cloves.
Just made this. So nice, it was lovey dovey. You do have to be patient to let it cook down. May take 20 minutes. But, you can taste test it along the way. I was not going to add the hot sauce but that was the kicker. Love this recipe.
the difference between good chili and great chili is if you can wait and eat it the next day! Cuz when you let it sit overnight it the seasons seem to richen! Enjoy!
I just finished a pot of this chili. It turned out great. I will be freeze drying it, I used a different bean, I use ranch style beans. I added tomato paste for the extra tomato taste. Loved this easy recipe.
Nice and simple and looks delicious. Will have to try the black beans. I try to not let my chili come to a boil, but let time and lower, [simmer], temperature, do all the work, so I give it a couple of hours. And I never cover it. But that's just a preference I've acquired over the years. Always remember the Tobasco! Thanks for sharing!
I make my chilli almost the same way as u do. I love the black beans. But sometimes I ad the black beans and red kidney beans. I also ad paprika and garlic! And I also ad a little chilli garlic sauce or sambal. . I love that in it.
Oddly enough with Stews & Chilis whenever it says to add water I sub it out with V8 juice, which was a trick my friends Mom taught me and it works well
GOOD JOB ...I start with onions and bacon (lard), masa flour, chopped pablano's, chili powder, cumin, epazote' garlic, bell pepper and habaneros to taste (mash some of the black beans) ...NOW, do one on potato salad
Never thought of using water. I always use tomato sauce along with diced or crushed tomatoes. I like black beans too, along with some pinto or kidney beans. I use garlic powder also. I have seen recipes that use oregano as well. Sometimes i use a crock pot, but i have gotten to where i usually prefer the stovetop. It's also faster. Good video
Making this now definitely a fantastic recipe instead of diced tomatoes I used this brand Muir Glen Organic Crushed Tomatoes Fire roasted got it at Ralph's super delicious I just don't like chunks of tomato really. Thank you for this recipe super to the point!

Helpful tip: add your spices at the beginning as your onions sweat. The flavors will layer much better.

I totally agree with you on adding black beans 🫘!!!
Thank you for sharing :) Great job 👏
Thanks
Impossible for this to be the world's greatest chili recipe because I make the world's greatest chili.
I'm pretty sure yours is the 2nd best because mine is definitely the best . If you don't believe me then just ask me .
Pretty sure you'd lie about it, so I won't be asking you.
A video ain't going to prove anything when it comes to taste.
Kevin Malone makes the best chilli in the world. You should check it out!
Thank you, simple dishes like this is nice to have short videos
Just made some awesome chili. I may make this on a regular basis now.
Sounds great
You said yall would "greatly appreciate it" NO I APPRECIATE YOU!
Now there you got chili
Too.much work...lol
Texans way, way over-estimate the rest of the world's concern for how "real Texas chili" is made. This is also true regarding "real Texas BBQ" etc. ,etc. ,etc. Noboby cares how you do things in Texas.
That's right new mexico chile #1
@fctuber....yeah I ve heard about you people that dont use tomatoes in chili.
Thank you!! About a third of the ingredients and trouble as other chili videos on YT and still yummy. Who has the time? ha.
1 pack McCormick Chilli Powder, 1 jar Pace Picante Sauce, 3 cans Bush Chilli Beans, 1/2 to pound of ground beef, chicken, turkey or pork. Brown meat add rest heat stir and eat.
sounds great, thanks..love trying lots
Ok. Tried it out. Turned out great. Thank you.
Try adding about a half a cup of strong black coffee, and a tablespoon of molasses....
Coffee... Interesting will try that on a small batch first though. If dark chocolate works so well I imagine coffee will too
yes, yes, yes ...PLUS 'mole' sauce ...That's the ticket
Gotta say, just tried out this recipe because I saw it was a quick video and i had signed up for a Chilli competition with my office lol. Well, day before the competition and i just made your recipe. I gotta say, this is some damn good chilli. Thanks for the recipe!
Black beans? Wow...i like!
Excellent. Thanks!
I just tried making it his today and it is absolutely delicious!! Thank you for the quick recipe.
Guys, a tip, because tomato is an acidic -component, to get the balance correct yu hv to add at least a spoonful + some sugar, to make the flavour more well rounded. When cooking a dish its like chemistry, you have to get the flavours correct for the taste buds on your tongue , so your tasting different note in the food, not just something thats beige, with one note, but a symphony of .flavours, thats the difference between a good cook & a bad one
...baking soda supercharges the flavor of tomato (tip)
Worse thing to put in chili, sugar, use some chopped parsley to balance acid.
Chili with beans is one of my favorite food........new subscriber
Thanks
Why do you not strain out the liquid that the ground beef made,? Or do you just leave it in for the flavor.?
Great Editing!!! Simple and to the point without all the fluff
Never used black beans, i think i will try
I'm with the guy in the video, I like black beans in my chili, I like the smaller size and think they give a good color contrast to the dominant red color of the dish. The only thing I would do differently is to use one can black and one can kidney beans. Oh, and I would use some type of pepper, usually green bell pepper, sometimes red, and jalapeno peppers as well, because technically, it isn't chili without it.
Chili refers to peppers, chili con carne means chili peppers with meat.
Steve Logan t
Steve Logan i use black beans and kidney beans in mine
Great easy recipe. I always put bell pepper in mine and a couple cloves minced garlic but otherwise your recipe is pretty much right along with mine. Thanks for the ease of it all!
im new to cooking &want to add bell pepper to this but dont know at what point in this process to do that, would it be ok to add them at the same time as the beans
@@peenyweeny3834 Add in the chopped bell pepper after you brown the meat. Let it cook and soften as it goes. Oh, add the garlic at the same time.
@@lanebashford3982 thanks for the advice i cant wait to try this ^_^
Making chili is like making a stew. There is no such thing as a right o9r wrong way.
You haven’t had my moms chili lol 😂
There's no wrong way but there are definitely superior ways. Most chilis are good but some are truly great
That's right... This is just stew..
A recipe that is actually easy to follow. Thank you sir
wow!! easy and the whole family enjoy it. Thanks your GREAT.
Easy and delicious!! Try adding green red and yellow bell peppers, celery, lots of parsley and cilantro and a chopped sausage...to die for! Greetings from Chile
Can you put it in the fridge and microwave it later
Cheeki Breeki iv damke 9
+Cheeki Breeki iv damke yup...it gets even better with time
For Us Foodies awesome! Will definitely make this
Cheeki Breeki iv damke you most certainly can. I make large batches and reheat as needed. Sometimes on the stove top, sometimes in the microwave.
In the microwave, I usually use half power to reheat it so as not to get hot spots or burnt spots.
Cheeki Breeki iv damke yes if you want your microwave oven to explode
Liked this vid because it was short and simple! Thanks
I add 4-5 cloves.
thanks
Personal preference I guess, but I've never cared for it with whole chunks of beef. Much prefer ground.
To thicken it, you know you can just add in like a tablespoon of cornstarch or flour and it will magically thicken
Will definitely try black beans in my chili recipe, thanks.
Looks so good, I'll be right over
Nice and simple and looks delicious. Will have to try the black beans. I try to not let my chili come to a boil, but let time and lower, [simmer], temperature, do all the work, so I give it a couple of hours. And I never cover it. But that's just a preference I've acquired over the years. Always remember the Tobasco! Thanks for sharing!
For the people thats criticizing the guys chili, get a life. People can make chili however they want too. Make your own damn chili they you want.
Yumi Beary yes and people also have the rite to comment how they wish on public yt videos
stfu
Gregorio H.
lucky 13 the nicer thing to do is add your ingredients to the comments, then move along. No need to get nasty while making your point.
Yumi Beary check out the title to this video numbnuts. Worlds best greatest chili give me a f****** break
Is it necessary to rinse and drain the cans of black beans? I can't wait to try this, but I want to make sure I do it right.
i'm thinking of adding a human head in my chili.
Mark Andrew Posa lol
so much bone
Same
make sure you dice the ears and nose very fine otherwise kinda tough.😁
Everyone else doesn’t usually add that? Fuck
I make my chilli almost the same way as u do. I love the black beans. But sometimes I ad the black beans and red kidney beans. I also ad paprika and garlic! And I also ad a little chilli garlic sauce or sambal. . I love that in it.
I like to add a spoon of cocoa powder to my chili, and it turned out great with this one!
nice
@Dance of Fire Metal Arts It gives the chili a richer flavor 😋
Chocolate works, too, but cocoa powder is cheaper.
Thank you for the video it was simple and quick 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
FORGOT PEPPERS
oops!
Add more cayenne, then take the heat off with honey. YUM! You will not be sorry.
Agreed, honey is an awesome addition but you need to add it in small increments so chili isn't too sweet.
...try molasses ...mole sauce ...crimini mushrooms
twodogs716 map,e syrup too
Great recipe and easy to make! Thank you!
Oddly enough with Stews & Chilis whenever it says to add water I sub it out with V8 juice, which was a trick my friends Mom taught me and it works well
Captain Puckhead Or at least some stock/broth! V8 is an interesting idea, too!
I also use v8 juice everyone loves my chili
I like to use ground round and I drain the fat juices out. I've never tried black beans. Your black beans were spiced?
I'll have to try adding black beans. Thanks.
Thank you for showing us that thank you for your time thank you for everything you do just thank you so much
GOOD JOB ...I start with onions and bacon (lard), masa flour, chopped pablano's, chili powder, cumin, epazote' garlic, bell pepper and habaneros to taste (mash some of the black beans) ...NOW, do one on potato salad
but this is his recipe, u all need post yours and let us try all.. be happy...love to all
Good morning from Alberta - Canada
Excellent recipe with all ingredients
Have a nice day,,,,,,,,,, stay safe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Tom
Made up a batch ! Good !
Awesome job awesome video! Simple straight forward to the point!
I make it almost the same, only I add beef stock instead of water and also some garbanzo beans for more crunch
Fleugar OutDoors Garbanzo beans? Never thought of that. Sounds good.
Since when are garbanzo beans crunchy?
Never thought of using water. I always use tomato sauce along with diced or crushed tomatoes. I like black beans too, along with some pinto or kidney beans. I use garlic powder also. I have seen recipes that use oregano as well. Sometimes i use a crock pot, but i have gotten to where i usually prefer the stovetop. It's also faster. Good video
oh yeah yeah
Loved it...Simple and looks so yummy!!! THANK YOU!!!
Garlic,tomato puree,sugar.
Great Chilli, thank you for this recipe
Greatest is subjective, maybe simplest is a better description.
I just made this yesterday. So good and so easy.
nice and easy recipe, but where are the bell peppers? ☺
Making this now definitely a fantastic recipe instead of diced tomatoes I used this brand Muir Glen Organic Crushed Tomatoes Fire roasted got it at Ralph's super delicious I just don't like chunks of tomato really. Thank you for this recipe super to the point!
You really should rinse the beans there packed in a brine .
I was looking for this comment!!!! Thankssss
