I just installed this in my '19 STI and had to finagle it in too, as well as another commenter, I was able to leave the tire on and just turn it to the left to get the clearance I needed to get the larger bolt in, I managed to thread the socket through the Coil of the shock with a long extension. Without knowing what mod I was doing, I had my wife hop in the car and person the brakes so I could see the master cylinder move as the firewall flexed. She said she was pressing pretty hard but I couldn't see as much flex in video's I've seen, regardless I adjusted the set screw as explained and locked it down. I then had her press on the brakes again and unprompted she said she thought the brake pedal felt firmer, to my reply I guess it works then. I took it for a ride around the neighborhood and came to the realization that I was now feeling what the brakes were supposed to feel like, the flex was very diminished and gave more confidence as if you gained bandwidth in stopping distance.
If it wasn’t for the stock neon yellow calipers (don’t know what Subaru was thinking but oh well), then it maybe the whole Perrin neon yellow series would be a different color all together... 🤔
I had to “finagle” the Perrin Master Cylinder brace in as well. Used the same alternate tool 👍 to tighten down the engine bay mounts. Was lazier than you though and left the wheel on and used extensions and knuckles to insert wheel well bolt around strut. That bolt was easier than the engine bay bolts. My brace is the conservative black colour but regardless of colour preference my aftermarket Brembos do feel more responsive under hard braking when pulling off the highway at spirited speed!

i have this installed on my forester and it was a huge difference, the brake feel was mushy before but after that you feel the bite earlier as it reduces flex on the master cylinder itself.

I have the Cusco brace and it makes a pretty decent difference with the WRX and it’s Corolla brakes. There’s a lot more confidence at the braking limit with this brace on.

@@K03sport Not that the naked eye can see. No matter what brand you go with. It makes a big difference in initial pedal feel. When I installed stainless lines afterward, I couldn't tell the difference until I had to really use the brakes.

I have an IAG AOS on my 2015 WRX and can vouch an AOS is definitely a worthwhile mod. Interested in how the Perrin one is. I have a Perrin Pitch Stop but that is all I have from Perrin that I can recall. Pair the AOS mod with EGR delete and you'll be even better off to reduce carbon buildup.

Riley Parker just did a quick search, this things cost around 100 bucks. Do you think it’s worth the money? The main slop in your brakes are going to be the construction of your calipers and your lines. If you just like throwing your money away or you have sponsorships go ahead but for the most part this is just another colorful piece of metal he is adding to his engine bay.
