I love my black silicone case. I love how it gets grippier the longer you have it. I’ve had it on my phone for months and other than smudgy fingerprints it still looks new. I don’t drop my phone though.
I'm now on my 2nd Apple silicone case for my 12 Pro. The simplicity, overall comfort, feel of the case, and various colours is why it's popular. If you don't drop your phone regularly it's a good choice. My only issue is the durability and price point. I'm now about to be on my 2nd case because of the wear and tear. I'm not a person that drops my phone a lot but because of regular daily use, the silicone starts to chip and peel. All Apple cases come with a limited 1-year warranty. I went to Apple last week to file a claim and they ordered a new (free) one for me which arrived today. If anyone gets the silicone case definitely note the 1-year warranty on a calendar or something.
I hate the apple silicon cases, bc they’re too expensive and they ALWAYS wear out within weeks’ time. The “fake” $11 silicon cases are sturdier, and last much longer (and they come in so many dope colors).
Appreciate everything covered in the video, but at the end of the day, any review can be boiled down to one simple thing: you buy the case every year and use it as your primary case. That’s a clear, and honest, recommendation for a product review.
I prefer the silicone on the Otterbox cases. This is my first Apple case & I’m finding it very slippery & not very grippy whereas the Otterbox cases seemed perfect to me.
I got the same one ! I dropped it once, not even a foot from the ground, it wrecked the case and the corner of my phone popped out and now has scratches on it. It’s so disappointing bc I really liked the case.
That is what I feared so ordered a Mophie battery case from Best Buy open box for $75. They started $99 Phone slides so easily in. Afraid it’s not secure enough. Thanks. I found the Apple silicon case at a thrift store like $2.
Fantastic review, super accurate and describes all of the feelings I have about it. I just “like” this case and would “LOVE” it without the durability flaw! But the feel and protection is great…just doesn’t sit right with me having a case with chunks taken out of it/imperfections due to dropping. I REALLY wish they made the silicone more durable!
I returned that case. Im not very like silicone. Now using fine woven with wallet its much better. I know material is not very good quality but feeling is super.
I like how good it fits and looks on the phone but, I live in tropical weather and I don't like how sticky it became after a couple of days of normal use.
I used to always get the leather case since it was available, but this same one you reviewed is my very first silicone one from apple and omg I love it. It glides in and out of my pocket without issue, the grip is good and god it looks amazing. I haven’t had issues with lint or it cracking, but there is some wear on the bottom corner and the magsafe area where i stick my magsafe wallet after 5 months. I will definitely be replacing it with another of the same one when it gets too ugly lol and maybe not use a magsafe wallet to keep it looking nicer longer. I don’t think the price is high either because it’s such a good quality even from the inside with the microfiber. I’ve seen silicone cases from 3rd party up to 80 dollars! So it could be worse for apple cases. I hope though that they start selling a leather case again, even if it’s a fake leather one.
I used the two different silicone cases for the 12 pro max and just sliding the phone face down on a smooth table caused the lip to tear. Had the same problem with the silicone battery cases way back with the Xs. For $50 its just not worth it I've found cheaper cases with stronger magnets so I don't see the justification for getting this case anymore which is sad cause I do like them.
Had it for the 13 pro max and the silicone started peeling very easily.. Just got it for the 15 pro max and was hoping it would be different lol. I guess I’ll be returning it.
Does the silicone case attracts more dust or no? 🤔 I have a fake one and every time I take my phone out of my pocket it’s cover in those small particles.
I found one for 15 pro max for a couple dollars at a thrift store. It was in a speck box. When I opened it up saw it was an Apple silicone case cypress color /mint green . With the money I save I included a zagg screen protector $59. The newest one. My concern is that the phone slides in so easily. I question if it secure enough . I’ve dropped it a few times from desk height. Didn’t pop out of case. But not risking it. So ordered the Mophie battery case. Always trusted Mophie products. Used them on iPhone before. Even otter box cases.
The best silicone case I used on an iPhone was iPhone 7 Plus black silicone case which with brutal usage going through PUBG a lot games lasted without a damage except for wear and only broke 3 years later . Imagine getting angry after a a loss and throwing your phone and it bounced and you took it back and saw if you damaged anything and all fine and play another game 😂. The best silicone cases was before the 12 series after that it’s business now.
Yup, actually have to pick up my free silicone case replacement from Apple this week. The case for my 12 Pro started to chip and peel so I went into Apple to get it replaced.
Love your reviews and videos! It's super simple and minimal which is a great contrast to these bigger tech channels putting so much into production now. New subscriber!
I got mine today for pro max matches the phone but the texture for me makes it harder to breathe 😂😂 it looks good though and today Boxing Day sales are still on so from $109 I got it for 88 nzd
Something I've noticed with Apple made silicone cases is the case pops off on the corners every time I take my phone out of the pocket. I find this with every case actually but it seems more pronounced and the case pops off even more when it's the Apple MagSafe silicone cases.
Hi Andrew, I have the iPhone 14 Pro and it has poor battery life, screen scrolling problems and some other bugs and random overheating. Should I trade in to the the 15 Pro Max or keep the 14 Pro and instead get a cheaper 13 Pro from eBay or parallel importer store, or wait for the 16 Pro?
@@AndrewClare In my country in Europe we don’t have Apple Care, but I have 1 year warranty. But the Apple Employer told me it’s a software issue, but even I tried reinstalling the iOS via iTunes and factory reset it, it still has all those bugs and issues. Btw, I really liked the 13 Pro series battery life, and I like the new Natural Titanium color and want the bigger and better battery life of the 15PM. So therefore, is the 15PM as good as the 13PM in terms of stability, bug-free software and best battery life possible?
Hi, I use winter blue silicone case for my 15pro max It looks pretty However since it’s lighter in colour, it gets yellow in the corners and since it’s MagSafe I don’t know the best and safe way to clean it. Would be great if anyone can share a solution if you’re facing the same. Thank you
When you drop your phone pretty much any case is going to get damaged. As long as it protects your phone. A silicone case is going to get damaged when you drop it. The issue with the Apple case is price. No way it’s worth $50. $35 maybe.
got a silicone case for my 13 PM from walmart for $20, I paid $8 in shipping and had to wait a week and a half but if you aren't in a hurry it's definitely worth it
I never use the cases from Apple themselves. Overpriced garbage that doesn’t hold up nor protect your phone. I’ve been using the same cheap TPU case from Aliexpress for the past 4 years on my Iphone 11 pro max, and it’s still good as new. Dropped it a ton, on asphalt, tile and concrete as well as regular flooring and no indents or cracking whatsoever🤷🏾♀️ When that happened to the Apple Leather case, huge indent on the side of the case that hit the floor. The silicone one is a magnet for debris like dust particles and hair, as well as oily fingers prints. Not impressed. Also slippery. And at least on my phone with the silicone case once the buttons are really hard to press for some weird reason. Hate it. And yes as you mentioned, hard to clean. Not an issue on my Auto Focus Faux Leather TPU case from China🤣🤣🤣🙏🏾
That’s the whole purpose of having a case on your smartphone. It’s there to protect phone from unexpected drops etc. If you smak your misses one, two , three times. Think she will not last long, so does the case.
I brought this and liked the look of it but does collect dust from My pocket and if my hands ain’t sterilised and wiped with wipes then it shows the feeling is good but again the texture feels like I can’t breathe like literally 😂 the price in nz is $109 right now I’m using the bulky OtterBox Defender XT iPhone 15 ProMax Case - Clear it’s great but again prices in nz are ridiculous
the only way to make this case worth it is to get the case switched out before the 1 yr warranty runs out by apple, especially when you get the chipping on the corners. apple will replace it no questions asked, so essentially youre paying $50 for 2 years worth
I wouldn’t have bought it if they didn’t have it on eBay for 15 bucks brand new. Am i crazy or does it change anyone else’s background? I had a background set with pictures and randomly my background (both) changed to match my phone. The options are natural (titanium), silver, blue and black…and i have the black iPhone 15 pro max. No way that’s a coincidence right?
Oddly enough I did not drop my phone and have the same clay color for my iPhone 15 pro max and a corner of my case is ripped, not happy about it at all 😡😭
