- This video will take you to Playa Del Carmen Beach in Mexico and provide information and an update on the seaweed situation. This video was shot in the middle of the afternoon at the end of 34th street. The beaches look great! The beaches are so much better than this time last year and continue to be beautiful.
Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico, along the Yucatán Peninsula's Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. In the state of Quintana Roo, it’s known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs.

Good morning, Leonard! I don't know much, but what I do know is, when I go to a beach, I want to smell the smells of a beach. The smell of the sand. Them smell of the salty ocean air. Even the smell of suntan lotions or oils. What I DON'T want to smell is rotting seaweed. There's no way I'd be able to enjoy myself in that situation. I believe I'd rethink my choice of vacation destinations.

the only places you might smell seawood are the areas where there are no hotels/condos. Kind of like leaves in the fall. Most homes rake their leaves. Uninhabited ones don't. You will have to walk thru about 10 ft of seaweed when you go in the water though. Not a deal breaker at all

the beach look awesome !!!! are you serious ???.there is no beach anymore, i know its the same everywhere and its so sad.i was there in 2014 and the beach was vanishing already but now its all over 😥😥😥

Soon, all the beaches will be gone...go to varadero,i know its cuba and the food is terrible but at least the beach is still nice and long and wide...and no sea weed

Been going to PDC for 27 years now, 3 to 4 times a year. Happy to see Sargasso not as bad as previous years. I am now looking for a different area. PDC is now too crowded, cartel has gotten out of hand and it has become too expensive. It truly breaks my heart because I love PDC.
I hear ya. Been heading down there for a few years myself and I am slowly seeing others going to the Pacific side of Mexico. PDC is a great place and was great bang for your buck but it has gotten more expensive and most see it and PDC might price themselves out of business. Good luck wherever you go. @@leonardsheatravel In Oct it's hit or miss. Just like it is now. Usually in Nov and Dec there is no Sargasso. But as you stated it depends on the winds. The MX government has a website that tracks Sargasso. It lets you know when a large mass is heading toward the Quintana Roo coast
