i am playing this for band, and i just watched the movie tonight. it’s so amazing and knowing you can be apart of it is even better since Sebastian (ryan gossling) is a jazz pianist and music is huge in the movie
The incredibly rare Bassoon solo has appeared. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it in my part! Where are my Bassoonists at? EDIT: I know it's not easily noticeable, but there are one player parts at the trill in measure 57 and for a few measures towards the beginning of The Fools Who Dream, from measure 188 to measure 124.
i’m in our school’s wind ensemble and our concert band is playing this for the spring concert.. i’m about to drop down bc i can’t tell you how much i love la la land
1:12 my favorite part, my band was practicing this song (which we’re doing for the spring concert in a few weeks). i’m a 2nd clarinet and my teacher at some point had the clarinets practice this one timestamped part with the bass clarinet (there’s usually 2 but one was absent that rehearsal) and that part sounded so nostalgic for some reason….
i played this my freshman year and i hope to play it again as our seinor choice in band next year. this piece and the movie mean so much to me. i love every part of it!
hi guys!! Do you know where ca I find the sheets? I feel in love listening to it and I want to play it with my band but first I need the sheets because I have to show them to my director, if you can answer me you'll be doing me a very big favour
Me and a few of my friends were really good so they put us with the high school kids and we got to play this. I'm a trumpet player and I got 1st trumpet! This was all this year.
Where playing this song in my wind ensemble and I'm literally obsessed with the clarinet solo during city of the stars and the girl who plays literally does it perfectly and her is gorgeous

Not exactly the bass, in orchestras, all the parts are very diverse but mostly the contrabassoon, bass clarinet, tuba, bass and cello carry out the low parts
Played this at the Spring Concert, rocked out on my Bassoon, especially that solo trill at 1:07 through 1:09. City of Stars was the hardest part for our band

Theie in there. Trust me. I played this piece. It's just that they don't have the melody most of the time. I was on Obeo and sat right next to them. They played for over half the song, so they are in there.

this particular piece is pretty difficult to play flawlessly faster than this sample so the speed that this sample goes is the speed the players would die to play
performed this as a student-led, sans-conductor grade 12 ensemble where there was basically 1 instrument per part (except flutes). it was a great time but i was surprised that we pulled it off in a month considering the tempo changes LMAO. i'd do it again in a heartbeat though edit: wording
As a tuba player I'm already dead at measure 25 and you want me to go on for another 30 measures? no clue why we aren't doing the divisi as there are two of us. I do love this peice tho.
MY HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT BAND PLAYED THIS PIECE! Ah I remember every part... I’ve never seen La La Land but I love this piece.

I'm a Taiwanese student, and I am playing this in my high school's band now, it's really a romantic song!!
Our director decided to do what he calls "research," which is to say, show us the movie during class.
Just graduated high school and played this at my graduation ceremony with the band, sounds like nostalgia already
Played it twice for graduation this piece is fire

It’s my time to shine
IKR
there is no solo sry
Maybe since the bassoon is the only one with the trill note?
Thank you Micheal brown for giving the bassoons something fun to play
i’m in our school’s wind ensemble and our concert band is playing this for the spring concert.. i’m about to drop down bc i can’t tell you how much i love la la land

Liam Crimmins they do its on their other channel Hal Leonard jazz ensemble
Fizzy_Bubbles yeah I subbed to that one because I play piano for my school, but I looked and they don't have la la land music.

Why is there always no love for the trombones :'(
White Boy Sam try playing bass clarinet, like we don't get ANYTHING
Wait till you guys get to University ensembles, you're times will come. Coming from a Bass Clarinetist and Marching Band Instructor
it's all well and good until you don't own your own bass clarinet and will end up back on Bb at uni
True!
Hahaha!!! It's the time for the Baritone to have love!!! And not the trombone!!!
the oldest kids in my band played this song on the concert today, i was so jealous, like it is sooo good and i didnt get to play it :(
