The only bad thing about that movie is the acting can be a little…. huh. And there’s kind of a cheap quality to it. At times. If it were a little more polished it’d be perfect for its simplicity.
Not a horror movie but Alice in Borderland on Netflix is incredible and although I've not seen Battle Royale from what I've heard it has that kind of a vibe with people being trapped in an alternate version of Tokyo where most people have disappeared and they have to play games based on a deck of cards to stay alive with the games always being deadly and with some only allowing one winner. It's one of the best shows I've seen in a while and is a constant rewatch for me :)

Absolutely my favorite genre of movies! Cube is amazing, Cube 2 is garbage but Cube 0 is a MUST see after Cube!! Another one I'd recommend that could come close is The Platform.

Oh no! I'm lucky that recently I met this young woman who's a big horror fan. But she only streams and owns nothing. I'm the other way around I don't stream and have a huge horror movies collection on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and 4Ks. I loved this movie so much and couldn't stop watching it, until my parents decided it was too close to horror and forbade me to watch this one, too 😂

Why am I not seeing any mentions of Choose or Die (2022)? It's a fantastic Netflix movie based on the idea of text-based adventure games with high stakes and no good options
The extended version of Escape Room 2 changes a lot (or reveals a lot more of the mystery, at least), but I actually found it somehow even more convoluted. The extra scenes just don't fit into the story very well.
I love love love Stay Alive and I swear to god I saw a completely different version than the one I currently have, but that's okay. I don't care how cheesy it is, I love it. Sophia Bush all alty??????? Yes please. Its also one of those movies that I feel like they could remake and make it better, like just expand on the concepts maybe, or hell, make it a tv show and give us more, but the concept is also a ton of fun. Samara Weaving was not even on my radar till I saw Ready or Not and now, obsessed. I adore her. Her snort laugh is the best.

Another Battle Royale like movie that I enjoyed was "The Condemned (2007)" The premise is 10 convicts who are dropped on an island and a forced to fight to the death, and it's being broadcast to the public. whoever wins gets their freedom. It stars Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones. Technically not Horror, but I enjoyed this film a lot.

Pleae, please watch the alternate cut of Tournament of Champions if you havent! It extends the movie by 8 minutes but they also took out stuff so id say about half an hour is changed. It makes it so much better. Like even ifyou end up hating it it objectively makes more sense than the theatrical release.

Recently saw The Blackening and that movie would be a great fit for game themed horror movies

the human race from 2012 is also one of these kinda, it's a battle royale, and probably the most wtf out of any battle royale movie 😂

The extended version of Escape Room 2 changes a lot (or reveals a lot more of the mystery, at least), but I actually found it somehow even more convoluted. The extra scenes just don't fit into the story very well.
Circle of Death was a fun background watch
I love love love Stay Alive and I swear to god I saw a completely different version than the one I currently have, but that's okay. I don't care how cheesy it is, I love it. Sophia Bush all alty??????? Yes please. Its also one of those movies that I feel like they could remake and make it better, like just expand on the concepts maybe, or hell, make it a tv show and give us more, but the concept is also a ton of fun. Samara Weaving was not even on my radar till I saw Ready or Not and now, obsessed. I adore her. Her snort laugh is the best.
... wow, I guess I really am a fan of this sub genre. Of all the movies I only havent seen three of them and heard of two of those three. Meander was the only one Ive never heard of! But all three are going on my watchlist now, haha.

For people who enjoy the puzzles side of things, I'd recommend As Above So Below. Not the most amazing film in the world but my favourite thing in this type of film is watching them solve puzzles with high stakes :P

Other horror game movies I've seen of varying quality not on your list: House of 9, Are You Scared 1 & 2, Funhouse, Haunt, Steel Trap, and other escape room movies like Escape Room 2017 (There's two of them from that year, both unrelated), No Escape Room and No Escape
Another Battle Royale like movie that I enjoyed was "The Condemned (2007)" The premise is 10 convicts who are dropped on an island and a forced to fight to the death, and it's being broadcast to the public. whoever wins gets their freedom.
It stars Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones. Technically not Horror, but I enjoyed this film a lot.
I love the movie surviving the game 1994, it has Rutger Hauer in it ;)

Pleae, please watch the alternate cut of Tournament of Champions if you havent! It extends the movie by 8 minutes but they also took out stuff so id say about half an hour is changed. It makes it so much better. Like even ifyou end up hating it it objectively makes more sense than the theatrical release.

Yesss. Nerve is a comfort movie at this point for me. Also was one of those where I saw it the first time and was like “hmm”. Not totally sold. Until I kept thinking about it and craving to watch it.
I LOVED The Hunt, I'm sad it didn't get much buzz. I can't decide if it's more like White Lotus or Succession as a horror movie.
