He made swimming so fun to watch. Once in a lifetime, an athlete will come along who is so great that it makes you watch a sport you wouldn’t have watched otherwise. It’s just what greatness does.

Swimming is one of my other favorite Olympic events beside Track and Field. Good to see Michael Phelps doing well, he has a beautiful family. ❤❤❤❤

Nono: Nope, not even Leon Marchand will be able to do what Michael Phelps did over his 16 year Olympic swimming career. Phelps winning 8 gold medals at the 08 Olympics, and winning what was it 30 something medals over 4 Olympics, mostly gold. Not to mention that Phelps in his prime held world records in both a sprinting event (100 meter Butterfly) and a mid distance event (400 meter Individual Medley).

Nothing quite like Phelps' dominance during his Olympic runs. I'm a big basketball fan but Phelps got me so interested in team usa and all their swim meets. Especially that relay. Lezak!!! I remember where I was. My cousins loved swimming and they too were basketball fans first more than anything. But for some reason, that night of the relay. The tension and buildup and then finish. It was the biggest thing on earth for each of us. The comeback was something else. Best Olympic moment I ever witnessed. We all jumped from our seats our heads almost hit the roof. It was wild.
Each time Phelps raced, my heart was pounding, almost had heart attack 😶 we are lucky enough to witness his talent.
Today, the US swim team delivered! Dressel almost leap half way into the pool, so excited!

No one will ever do what Phelps did over a 16 year Olympics swimming career. Until someone does (which they won’t), then MP will remain the Goat.

So what? Over half of the top multi-medal athletes are swimmers. Imagine if running had a 100m dash, 100 meter backwards run, 100 meter frog jump run, and a 100 meter leg hop. Oh and a com8nation of all those events in the form of multiple relays.

He did some for the Olympic Trials and I assume he will be for the Olympics as well. I really like his commentary. As a former swimmer, I find his comments more insightful. But maybe they aren’t simple enough for none swimmers to understand.
