Nah, I have seen the REAL Pantera, bro. I have zero reasons to be jealous. However, that doesn't mean I think they sounded like trash they weren't bad but they aren't Pantera anymore without the Abbott Brothers! 🤘🤘
As a long time pantera fan that was absolutely devastated when dime and vinne passed, i was always skeptical of the idea of this 'tribute' watching this has confirmed my skepticism.... i cant understand why they didnt get an unknown guitar player who could play dimes parts to the T instead of getting Zakk who just sounds like Zakk. Thanks for sharing this video but it has made my mind up in terms of seeing them live on their UK tour, i'll give it a miss
Because Zakk was good friends with Dime. So this reunion stays "within the family" so to say. But I too think that Zakk is strange in this reunion. Just standing on one spot for every gig, looking from the left to the right. He was a powerhouse back then. Look how he's almost dancing for a whole gig in the 80s and early 90s. Japan 1989 for example. Whar a whirlwind. Maybe he's having a medical issue?
@@neilmartin1335 Why they have the same fuckin boring setlist every year? Play THE ART OF SHREDDING AND OTHER MORE DIFFICULT SHIT...come on step the F up ZAKK!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not trying to hate on them. I want to see these guys doing what they love and performing live shows for us fans, however I think it would have been a better marketing decision to call the band something other than Pantera. Yes, I know bands like Metallica, Slayer, and SlipKnot have continued on but those bands didn't have members get murdered on stage while the other band member/blood brother watched it all go down. And those band members also didn't accuse their singer of being partly to blame for said murder. The history of Pantera is just too complexing and tragic for some fans to truly comprehend.
Completely disagree, it would have been a terrible marketing decision to name it something else. Rita Haney who is Dime's ex and in charge of Dime's estate (and essentially the bulk of the intellectual property 'Pantera') is absolutely fine with it. There are tens of thousands of fans around the world who love this version of Pantera, and want to keep calling them that.
Plenty of bands out there with different members replacing original members and still going and playing and even making new music I'm fine with this personally and would welcome new music as Pantera if they wish to I saw Pantera several times back in the day, they were phenomenal
The reason they won't call it something else is because literally every song they play is a Pantera song. If they made new songs than it would be reasonable to call it something else.
@@joshuafult84 When the remaining members of Thin Lizzy decided to make new music they decided to call themselves Black Star Riders, these guys could easily become Cowboys From Hell I suppose but I don't expect them to write anything new, I'd like them to but it would be a difficult sell as Pantera
@Andrewhall28 But they are playing shows under the Thin Lizzy banner all the time. When they are performing those old songs. Exactly the same what Pantera are doing these days.
Zakk is a great player but his phrasing is way off on the rhythm and the solo, should've got someone who would play the parts true to the original, RIP Dime😔
Then people would whinge it was just a clone and insulting I personally didn't want an exact copy, they're supposed to be paying tribute to the music not just copying it perfectly anyway, you're supposed to hear it's not the same
