    As someone who had EXTREME pain during my entire pregnancy, it was so hard to be positive. So, if you’re reading this and wondering why it’s SO HARD to be positive right now, it’s understandable! I had heartburn so bad that I was going to the ER with extreme chest pain only to be told “you’re pregnant, it’s normal” and itching all over my body to the point where I literally couldn’t sleep at all & had to be put on medication (that didn’t help). In the third trimester, I had extreme Carpel Tunnel in both hands and was unable to work or do anything!!! Before this, I was a healthy 26 year old! It was crazy! I’m beyond grateful for my healthy baby girl but man, I never want to be pregnant again! If it’s in God’s plans for my future, I hope and pray it’s smoother the 2nd time around! My husband and I actually think adoption may be a better option for us in the future. (I know my case is rare but it was REAL)

    Lets not move into toxic positivity. We can be appreciative of our babies growing in our tummies and still complain that we are unwell as a result of it. For me the last months were really rough, my pelvic grindle pain was extreme, I was non stop overheating and swollen due to summer. There is no way to flip the perspective that my limps were swollen so much. I couldnt close my fists well 😭 yes I am in awe of how I grew this baby, but it did it hurt to grow it, and the birth was a nightmare out of the worse horror movie. But yeah my baby worths it all, and even more!

      Exactly Queen, like its okay to acknowledge your exhausted, sick, in pain. Like these things are important to speak about so it dosen't become overwhelming and stops you from seeking treatment or help in general. You cant just keep switching mindsets to pretend like it dosen't hurt mentally or physically because it does! And if you need help there's no reason to go it alone. Humans help humans, dont suffer alone.

      That’s not toxic positivity that’s just gratefulness, if you treat most things as good things you will generally be happier in life there’s no such thing as toxic positivity

    • @elenapederson1862

      @@yonko7401 If you are getting 1 hour of sleep with a newborn, they wont eat, cry constantly its okay to say "Hey Im overwhelmed doing everything myself, i need time to rest as i am recovering from giving birth as well as taking for baby 24/7 I need help" see this 'you should be greatful mentality' is why i see alot of new moms end up in the hospital from exhaustion/sleep deprivation , its not something you should take lightly at all. Get some rest, eat something, get some help, youre not a bad mom for asking for basic human needs.

      Literally no one said that moms shouldn't get basic needs met. Only that there is no such thing as toxic positivity, its an oxymoron and logically makes no sense.

    I love that mindset shift from “I hate this” to “my baby is working so hard to grow.” I think you could apply this to the fourth trimester too; if you have a fussy, colicky baby, going through sleep/eating changes, instead of saying “this sucks, when will this end??” We can say “my baby is working so hard towards those milestones.” Doesn’t make it less hard to wake up several times a night, but it’s a much healthier perspective.

    I can really relate on the being tired. I’m pregnant with my second, so this time I don’t have the luxury to rest when I need to. I have a 1 year old to care for, even when I’m tired. And of course I love my son and love taking care of him, but sometimes, I need to rest. In general, I am not big on screen time, but in this season of fatigue, my son and I will watch tv together, read books on the couch and just rest. I know there are more exciting things I can do with him, and we still make time to go on walks and go to parks. But right now, I genuinely am tired, and for good reason, my body is growing another human. So, when we need to rest we do, and if slowing down means watching more tv for now than normal, well that’s just where we are in life right now. I have a hard time being ok with that, but what else can you do? Just be grateful for my health babies and enjoy the extra shows.

    Hi Abby
    I'm 41weeks right now and watching your video in the early labour. Even though it hurts and I'm nervous about the birth, I've been waiting for so long for this baby that I'm just glad it's going to be over soon and I'll get to finally hold my baby. (probably today!)
    Something midwives say is that every contraction brings your baby closer to being born. The more painful the contraction is, the more progress you're making.

    You know adoption is always an option, right? Does it have to be “your” child in order for you to love him/her?

    • @gregallnatt2486
      @gregallnatt2486 2 года назад +3

      Options mean choices and choosing pregnancy over adoption doesn't make it the wrong choice.

    • @tosemusername
      @tosemusername 2 года назад

      Must it be mine? No. Should it be? Yes. We all chose which aspects of life matter to us, so to each their own. Biological link may not matter to you, but it does to me.

    • @schmetterlingxox3096
      @schmetterlingxox3096 2 года назад +2

      I have no idea how you came to this conclusion. It sounds very anti-natalist to me. Yes, adoption is an option but it isn't an option for everyone. It also isn't as simple as everyone on the internet seems to believe. Adoption is an insanely expensive and lengthy process. Also, adoption candidates are put under intense scrutity and expected to live up to a standard that the average parent wouldn't meet. Furthermore, it is natural for a woman to want a child with the man she loves. I don't see why anyone would demonize a woman's choice to have her own child, especially a woman who suffered a miscarriage.

    • @he96765

      What if she and her husband CHOSE to have a child from their own instead of adopting? Shocker, right?
