- With Grendizer U airing in a couple weeks, I thought I'd make this video giving some insight over the Grendizer franchise and who's involved with the new production.

Minor correction, I inverted Italy and France's names for Grendizer in the script, oopsie
You could've mentioned the life-sized Grendizer statue in Saudi Arabia, which is the largest robot in real life. Larger than Yokohama's RX-78.

As an arab, I can confirm that grendizer made a huge influence to the arabic audience, heck it was even the first ever anime I watched
Hopefully, this does well and this not only gives us a Great Mazinger remake but also makes other studios make new redo of their old Super Robot animes like Combattler V.
@rossruss6901 I might be confused but didn’t we get a great mazinger remake like 10-13 years ago? I don’t think they’re doing it again.
@@kite36 Yeah we got a Mazinger remake in 2009, however, it stopped at the end of Mazinger Z and didn't get a second season would have been a retelling of Great Mazinger.

Studio Gaina may as well be called Gainax 2.0 and Sadamoto himself isn't an amateur character designer too.
as a kid, I was introduced to the Shogun Warriors which consisted of Grandizer, Star Dragon, Danguard Ace, the Spaceketeers, and Gaiking.
It was a great time to be a kid!
I was a kid in the 70s and I freaking loved Grandizer! So cool!
I have big expectations for this one, I'm a big fan for the King of Space, and not just because I'm Italian.
The trailers seem to go for a modern j-pop metal vibe, but I hope we get some reprises of the original themes.
It was beautiful how SSSS Gridman mixed sensibilities of old and new Tokusatsu and Mecha anime (BABY DAN DAN!), so I hope something along those lines.
That is to say, if we get a reprise of Uchuu no Ouja during the final battle, I might cry of joy.
The only problem for us Italians is that we'll probably won't get a simulcast since everything need to be fully dubbed and sterilised for TV Broadcast, especially if it's a remake of the first anime to come in Italy.
Also, I may be overreading, but it seems you have inverted how Grendizer becomes Goldorak in France and Goldrake in Italy. 😅
I did indeed invert them accidentally lol, wrote them opposite of each other in the script. Good catch I'll make a pinned comment addressing it

Got into Grendizer recently because of Feast of The Wolves. So I can’t wait for this show.
very nice video and im excited for the anime since you don't see many old mecha animes get's new adaptations and the anime looks beautiful and snice they released the teaser i started to get into mecha anime so i thank grendizer U for making me getting into mecha

Hino Shinomo as Kouji Kabuto is pretty all right as he also voiced Zenitsu in Demon Slayer. The guy can go all out in his voice. I personally didn't really like Morikubo Showtaro as Kouji in the Infinity movie as he sounds too much like Orphan and Shikimaru and is doing an impersonation of Ishimaru Hiroya. I actually prefer Akabane Kenji as Kouji from the Shin Mazinger series as he is channelling Ishimaru Hiroya but still having his own flare.
Irino Miyu is a surprising choice to voice Duke since Miyu has a softer demeanour voice but at least it is not some old voice actor who is voicing Duke. (I am looking at you, Yamadera Koichi)

If Grendizer of the Mazinger franchise is returning, then so can other classic anime mecha series, right?

Do we know anything about dubs in french?
I've never consumed any Mazinger, do you know if this is an entry point or should I watch something else first?
@@MaryPTY Grendizer would be a pretty bad "entry" point for Mazinger, and really the only prerequisite I would give is the original Mazinger Z anime. That being said, the original Grendizer had very loose connections to Mazinger to begin with, having Koji as a side character to Duke and not a whole lot of Mazinger Z doing anything.
I would say Grendizer U can be watched with very minimal knowledge of Mazinger, as I suspect it would be even more detached from Mazinger's verse than the original was.
@@RevoSKLis reading Shin Mazinger and watching the infinity movie enough to get into Mazinger? I'm really interested in Mazinger but I don't feel like watching the 90s anime (I'll watch it if there's no alternative)
Im just hoping we don't get only 1 episode of koji In mazinger z and then he has to get in the spacer. Let us get both mechs in the show please 😢
There is already both mechs don't worry, hopefully koji won't be as childish as the original
The trailer already showed two scenes of Grendizer holding Mazinger Z’s decapitated head. Sorry to say but it seems Mazinger isn’t lasting long on this one.

@@falerob1 Look closely at the thumbnails of the trailers on RUclips and you’ll see all of them have Grendizer holding Mazinger’s head. It is pretty dumb, but it’s what it is.

Unfortunately, as far as English speakers go, there is no official subs to watch. There are some questionable fansubs you can find online, but that's all we got right now
Never heard of this giant robot. I have seen snippets of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger. Like all the old farts that grew up in Hawaii in the 70s, the first giant robot was Raideen which was also technically the first transformer we watched along with the original "Rangers".
That's something I love about mecha, every region has their mecha that was popular. Awesome to hear that Hawaii enjoyed Raideen, and for Grendizer I've had a lot of Italian and Saudi Arabian people comment on the videos about it.
There is no original music in this one , really disappointing.
