- Rajinikanth is holding firm in the face of a swarm of criticism for comments he recently made about EV Ramasamy, a Dravidian icon better known as Periyar.
The actor-politician said last week that a 1971 Salem rally held by Periyar featured unclothed effigies of Ram and Sita that had been garlanded with footwear. He made the remarks at an event organised by Cho Ramaswamy's Thuglak magazine, and said the late editor had criticised the rally.

I Will believe. look firstly, if I ask “who is God ?” One will say Allah is God, one will say Jesus is God, one will say Zeus is God, one will say Ram is God, one will say Shiva is God, one will say Murugan is God, One will say Buddha is God, one will say Guru Nanak is God, one will say Nature is God, one will say mind is God, one will say soul is God, one will say compassion is God, one will say humans are God, one will say There’s no God. It again comes to the same question, who is God? How do you define God? Do it basically differs from perspectives, So rather than calling someone/something as a God you could just call it as but its name Itself, for example Ram is a mythological character he might have also been the king before years, now he is a picture/statue that picture/statue is based on assumption and creativity of the painter/sculptor.
So when God can’t be defined, then what’s even there to believe or not believe, it’s not there. Believing unknowns is 🤯
For me God is just a word in English which has no proper meaning and it differs from ones perspective. There’s nothing to believe in it. So there’s no point in even going to a discussion of respecting or not respecting it.
And again this is my perspective. You will be having your own perspectives. I respect humans. So I respect you and your perspectives, but I need not agree to your perspective.
