I am the a golf writer and Senior editor of the African American Golfers Digest. I want to thank you for this video. Calvin was a legend of the game and I feel that he richly deserves to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Great guy. HOF is going to be a) 20 wins b) 1 major 15 wins c) 2 majors

@@marctesio3413 I'm sorry, but that's not true. Isao Aoki is in the World Golf Hall of Fame, and he has no major wins and no 20 PGA tour wins. He also doesn't have as many PGA tour wins as Calvin Peete. Sometimes the hall of fame is more political than we'd like to admit.

Calvin Peete has more wins of any AA player outside of tiger he had more than Sifford and Elder combined plus a players championship which in my eyes is the greatest field in golf year in and out ...outside of a masters win his career is almost identical to Fred couples in wins ..

Dan Pohl asked the question about the best tip Calvin ever got and then let Calvin get away with not clearly answering it so I would like to take the liberty to clarify it since I heard Calvin talk about it in the past in another video .
The short game tip that Homero Blancas gave Calvin was that in shots that are short enough to not require a wrist cock (hinge) you put the ball in the back of your stance.
For shots that are long enough to require a wrist cock you put the ball in the center of the stance.
Now if only someone could explain what Calvin meant by " the left hand is the feel and the right hand is the touch that delivers the feel "

Thanks for the clarification. I wanted to understand more of what Homero had told Calvin.

My guess at "left hand is the feel" is that the left hand will be more sensitive to changes in the club's angle and speed as it is closest to the tip of the club's handle. Just like the tip of a whip or sword swings/moves much faster than the handle.

@@thoyo I believe he actually said it 2 different ways but I think he meant the left hand (power hand) is the touch and the right hand is the feel.

He also linked it to the different areas of the brain, left side , right side . Whatever he meant , he could certainly play , what a player !

I watched the pitching video earlier and there is one thing that is consistent here - Dan talks too much and too loud. Ignoring that fact that he is too loud, he is always "talking over" Calvin. Shut up and let his speak, you have him there because he has quality information to pass along.

No matter what the age, talent is something that is almost like the soul--it's there man. Those little chips, well, hell, Tiger struggled with those for a while. Yet, there's Pete, like almost holing them at who knows what age...looks like he's in his 70s or so.

shame that we lost Calvin so early. I remember following him around Muirfield Village one year back in the late 80's, and he never missed a fairway. Granted, the fairways are pretty generous out there but if they were 20 yards narrower, he still wouldn't have missed one. Every drive was a low "bullet" right down the pipe. Still remember to this day. Another amazing driver was Tom Watson but I digress.....

so, touch= is to determine club contact and tempo for the shot.. then feel = is delivering that "touch" & tempo to the ball to a certain spot to runout/with spin? and the precision is not for the cup.. the flag is just a distance marker that is not necessarily the main target; a reference wow lol
