I was just about to ask about putting it into tissue culture and then you mentioned it. I would definitely try to tissue culture that, what a neat leaf mutation. We just did our second batch a couple days ago, and I feel better about this one. Good luck!

Awesome leaves, but so many thrips :'( I find that pulverising alcohol 70° every other day works very well to kill them without hurting the plant. its a contact insecticide so you have to do it for long (a month at least) but its the best thing beside systemic pesticides whiche are not authorised in France. Of course try on a dispensable leaf !

The phenomenon of your Monstera plant having two sleeping eyes in the same leaf axil is a quite rare and interesting trait. Axillary buds are dormant buds located in the leaf axils and can develop into new branches or flowers.
This phenomenon can be explained through a number of reasons as follows:
Genetic mutations: As mentioned earlier, genetic mutations can lead to abnormal growth in plants. The appearance of two sleeping eyes in the same leaf axil may be due to a genetic mutation.
Abnormal vegetative growth: Plants may grow abnormally due to changes in plant hormones or other vegetative factors.
Environmental effects: Certain environmental conditions, such as sudden changes in light, humidity or nutrients, can stimulate plants to develop unusual characteristics.
Species characteristics: Some plants can occasionally develop unusual characteristics without a specific cause and remain completely healthy.
Having two sleeping eyes in the same leaf axil is not a concern if your plant is still growing healthily. This can be considered a special and rare trait of your Monstera plant.
If your Monstera plant is perfectly healthy but develops a leaf with two identical leaves on the same leaf, it could be an interesting and unique phenomenon due to a few reasons:
Natural Mutation: Sometimes, plants can develop interesting variations for no apparent reason. This mutation may be the result of a change in the genetic structure of the plant.
Normal variations: Some Monstera species can develop special leaf variations that are still completely normal and do not affect the health of the plant.
Environmental factors: Environmental conditions such as light, humidity, and nutrition can affect the shape and structure of plant leaves.
If your plant continues to grow vigorously and shows no signs of disease or damage, you can rest assured that this is just a unique characteristic of your Monstera plant. You can consider it as a special feature, making your tree more unique. If you want to share or learn more about this phenomenon, you can take photos and join Monstera-loving communities or plant groups on social networks to receive more opinions and shares from others. same hobby.
