    This video is the best representation of what a monstera can do with the correct space, climate, and care. I am a huge fan of all the aroids plants and when I saw that you were showing the best and largest monsteras I ever saw, I said I have to see this. I would like to get and try a fruit of your beautiful monsteras deliciosas on your webpage.

    I encountered Monstera deliciosa fruits about 25 years ago at a specialty grocer, Balducci’s, in NYC. The grocery store doesn’t exist anymore. But, when I returned to California a couple of years later I started to try to grow it. It wasn’t until ten years ago when I moved to Oakland, California, and was able to plant it under a tree that it took off and produces fruits for me. They are delicious!

Then we were told you had to wait for the scales to fall off about an inch a day or something before eating or it would burn your mouth like pepper. Is this true? Or is it an easier process to make them edible? Thanks.

      @SleepyLizard inner fenestrations are the little holes in the middle of your leaves and are highly sought after for people growing these plants indoors. I was impressed with myself managing to get 13 of those holes on one of my monsteras, compared to the 5 or 6 you see on indoor decorative monsteras most commonly. You, by growing them outdoors, make my 13 seem abysmal, and you hardly seem to be trying! Very well done.

    I picked some monstera deliciosa from the side of the road once, took it home, watched a video about eating it then it sat there until I threw it away. I was too scared to eat it! Like avocado I'm pretty sure monstera takes a good 10 years to fruit so most people think it's just a house plant. Idk? Maybe they'll remake Lantana into Monstera 😂💖

    • @SleepyLizard
      @SleepyLizard  2 года назад +4

      try it again sometime. even if you eat it too early the burn won't hurt you. as long as the kernels open on their own you're safe.
