Sorry for the late response, guys. It is an Ouku brand head unit. As far as the gps issue in some these head units goes, you will have to return it to the merchant and exchange it. My gps works great now. Love the unit.
I just want to go to a store and get it install. There is a small store where I live in London but they dont do android radios. They only have overpriced semi android radio.
This was either the best head unit review I've seen or a very cleaver way to promote your band lol .. either way I just bought mine after watching this video and now I'm about to look for your band ..great video man 👍
My only issue with this is that it will not receive updates after a while .. Meaning certain apps might not work unless you update. I'd hate to see the day Spotify doesn't work 3 years from now because Android 9 was released and my head unit is still stuck on Kit Kat.
Cristian Topsecret Yeah but that can only last so long lol Im just waiting until these things hit 3 gb ram. That should be enough to last a long time. Even though we are just now reaching 2gb.
I appreciated the review. You did briefly touch on which android os it's running, but it really would have been nice to mention the processor type and speed, and ram as those greatly effect the unit's performance and these android head units vary widely in the hardware options they come with.
I might have to get one of these just because my DVD/CD JVC only works with iCrap and i'm a android dude. Thanks for the review I am sold, so I will be getting one next year since my radio is still fairly new. Great review
I've been looking into a new stereo for my 2006 C Malibu for a while now. I don't have an auxiliary port and the adapter is annoying. I think this would be a very addition to my car. Thank you for your review my good sir!
Ok I'm sure you've said it in the mass of comments but I don't have another hour to skim over the other half of over 800 comments and there is no way to search for words/phrases in the comments. Anyway I have a 2012 Chevy Malibu same style as yours. I saw in one of your comments that you just got the basic wiring harness not the one with onstar or the steering wheel controls. My questions to you are what harness did you use (model) and what features did you lose? Do you still have the warning chimes and alerts sounds and does your car have a mirror with auto-dimming and a compass. I could give a care less about onstar but I definitely would want my mirror to have power for those two features.
Johan Ludvigsson Thanks! yeah, we've been on a hiatus for a few years but we're doing a new album this year. Our last album was on Solid State records titled "Dynasty." We toured on it for a while but we're feeling even better about this new record.
Like your review on this android. Checked EBay and many on site but a 2017 radio looks likes this says this is a Tacado brand. Hopefully same when I go to buy it. This 2017 also has 16GB where other seller has one with only 8GB. Assume that one is an older model. Thanks for the good review.
Deafcomm I love it. You roll the same way I do. Thanks for the support, homie. We have merch online, too. I believe that you can still purchase stuff through our label, Solid State Records, too.
Im curious on the customization of the home screen. Clocks, icons removed etc. I saw the Panlelo head unit that had a real nice home screen that's interchangeable. thanks
I have the Pumpkin variant of the same head unit. Buying it was biggest regret ever. The reason why, the Pumpkin Auto company was completely incompetent in solving my issues. They also failed to ship me one of this mics I ordered and claimed I did not order one. I sent them screenshot of my purchase order and then they backtracked and said they would send refund for it, they never did. Then, as for head unit itself, it is Android 4.4.4 and its a dinosaur. Constant crashes. I rooted the unit and loaded a custom rom I found on XDA and it constantly crashes as well. The microphone is terrible on this head unit and overall the quality was extremely cheap feeling. I am happy you like your head unit, I really wish I could say the same.
+Dominique Garcia It's just a as good as the day I installed it. I'm sure that once Pioneer and Kenwood start making android capable units, most people will go in that direction. However, until they start making them, this does everything and some.
+scantron5k wooooooow i am jealous. actually pioneer already makes a unit kind of. its android auto. downside of that it isnt true genuine android with google playstore.
Joe Mascari thanks, my first unit just wouldn't lock on GPS no matter what I did. It sucked, but they replaced it with a brand new one and now it works just fine. Yes, the back of camera was fairly easy to install.
I got this unit and installed it in a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and I love it. Looks factory BUTTTTTT..... There is practically every car model in there EXCEPT Dodge and Chrysler,,,That is Crazy,,,the only major model that is not included How weird is that. Guess I have to find a logo online and download it myself.
I looked but did not see Brand. My looking myself I feel it is a Tocado. Viewed this brand and it is a 6.2 with Marshmallow os. Enjoyed the video but would of liked to know if this model loads your phone contacts. Reading some they say for bluetooth only so not sure if they still load contacts.
Great review scantron5k. Who did you purchase your OK645GA from ? I guess you have had your unit about a year now ? Have any issues arised that require repair ? Did you purchase from a US Seller ? Did he request you send it to him or back to China ? Thanks
I believe that we spoke previously, 1st time was 2 years ago & another time, 3 years ago about your Ouku 2-din, I had purchased the same head unit for my focus well, I ordered another dash kit to transplant it into a Pontiac G5 & I am on my 2nd dash kit, The 1st one that I ordered is a Xscorpion CD KIT (model GM-K0410DD), IT is to big yet, The beauty ring, Is to small to fit onto the face of the Ouku & snap into the dash kit. You can see a gap all around it without the beauty ring! The second kit is a Metra 95-3302 which has a solid, 1-piece face so, I AM WONDERING WHAT DASH KIT YOU USED? Also, How you trimmed your dash kit? With the Pontiac needing a interface plus, purchasing 2 installation kits w/wiring harness, I should have just purchased a package deal that includes steering wheel controls, remote, cam, & a newer head unit!!!
Hi. I have some questions about it because I'm using similar but Bosion unit, but there is different os. So I have some questions: 1) can you set auto brightness on yours device? 2) can you make the touch sound quieter or only on/off? 3) is there a possibility to redefine physical button like google maps for navi? 4) how does it sound because Bosion is terrible 5) is there a possibility to send files through bluetooth from phone or only a phone bt Mode? 6) do you use original os?
Hey, I downloaded a dimmer app to dim the screen. My touch screen doesn't have any sound to begin with. I have a dedicated nav button on the unit beard the sound on mine was good, but I sold that car a few years ago with the head unit in it. I never tried sending files via Bluetooth or anything like that.
i have a few questions about the player. 1. Is there a highpass and lowpass adjustment. 2. can the usb's that are attached to the back of the player use usb music drives or is it strictly for the 3g network. I love having all my music on regular usb drives. 3. does it have an aux port. thanks a lot for this review im really intrested!
Hey there. I don't have a need for a HP or LP filter, so I can't answer that. I'm sure some googling will answer that for you. As for the USB port, it is labeled 4g, so I'm assuming it's meant only for a data dongle, but I could be wrong. However, it does come with a short usb to micro usb cable that plugs into the front of the unit for that specific purpose. As for the aux, you can easily buy an aux cable that converts to rca, and plug it into the rca inputs on the backside of the unit... but why bother if you can just stream the same apps/music through the head unit using data or bluetooth? Hope this helps!
Thanks for all the great info I found the install worthless I'm pretty good at any thing I just need time identify some terminal wires and there function lol
Thanks. It may get in the way of my climate control on a 02 Vette. The car really needs an upgrade from the 1.5 din cassette player lol. It seems like the name brand units pay royalty's and that really jacks up the price. I'm bidding on one now. Do you ever wish you would have gotten a 7" screen unit?.
Thanks again. The fact that you are happy with this unit after a year and a half speaks volumes. For the price it is worth a try (to see if it fits). There may be a depth issue too. I was considering the shallower non disc player but yours seems to be tried and true. Thanks again from Jax Fl.
I don't have the same head unit but here's my question! I bought a similar system with back up camera, I talked to a tech at Mickey Shores about the after market wiring harness, and he stated that I HAVE to buy an additional module for $129 due to the fact that the vehicle has on star! Did you have to purchase an additional module or did you just use the standard after market harness?
For the GPS to work, did you have to install anything such as a 4G sim card or a GPS antenna, or anything else that would not be included in the package?
my stock car stereo just bit the dust, so I go to look into upgrading and DAMN! This thing is sweet and a great deal! I didn't know we've come this far, haha. anyway, I'm trying to figure out everything before I buy. Are these units 3g and 4g compatible? it all goes through a usb dongle, so either should work, right? When i search for stereos, they all say 3g. I'm leaning towards 4g because a friend has a 3g phone and says its not that fast. I haven't downloaded music in a while so i don't have much of a collection anymore.
+Nabre Labre Hey, sorry for the delay... For some reason I'm not getting notifications! But yes, you can use it with both 3g and 4g dongles, or 3g and 4g wireless hotspot tethering from your phone as I do. Works like a charm. Best head unit I've ever bought. Especially for the price.
I have the same unit, for the gps antenna it came with long cable that screws into back of unit with an external piece with adhesive to mount, where did you mount yours?
Great Review! This sold me on this unit. Only problem is for the life of me i can't get it to bluetooth sink with an OBDII connector so i can use torque. It pairs with my phone (Android) and my wife phone (Apple) just fine. Have you gotten it to pair with OBDII connectors?
thank you, i was trying to find something like this I found your post today but bought it yesterday. sucks I can't get it installed I am not really great with the car electronics. But I am a Computer System Networker haha. is it easy to install the backup cam how do you install it also did you setup the steering will configuration?
All you have to do is power the back up camera from the back up lights in the trunk. That way, the camera only comes on with the back up lights, or when you're in reverse.
Only if the app requires a data connection. You can use a data connection from your phone via hotspot, or if you're sitting in your garage on your home wifi signal.
Wow that is cheap the cheapest I can find is like 90 bucks for that wiring kit cuz I got on Star and all your times and warnings and stuff for it through the radio to stock wise
hey. thanks for the video.. I just bought this one and installed it yesterday.... how did you remove the radio, navi, music, video widgets from the home screen?
Oh really? I wonder if mines slightly different then. Cus all it had on my home screen were the widgets I listed. And if I wanted the apps on there so i had to drag to the home screen. But still an awesome unit huh? Have you had any problems with it since you bought it?
+scantron5k so awesome! I'm stoked I ended up getting this one. I have one more quistion...sorry... you know how you need codes to get in the extra setting menu. have you done that? and if so... have you found the codes for the developer option and the user setting?
+scantron5k so awesome! I'm stoked I ended up getting this one. I have one more quistion...sorry... you know how you need codes to get in the extra setting menu. have you done that? and if so... have you found the codes for the developer option and the user setting?
@Scantron5k I need your advice please. I have a 2009 mercedes ml350, which only has phone Bluetooth and no media Bluetooth as well as the worst aux connection ever made. I wanted to get the android head unit that's made specifically for this car but some people told me that the sound quality will be crap. I don't have any amps or subwoofers (and I don't intend to).. So, if I just replace the original with the android, will the sound quality be like going from a cd to a cassette (as some discribed it). Thanks.
hey on the reverse camera. did your car already come with a camera ? also if not does it automatically switxh to cam when u hit reverse ? any special wiring ? like i dont see how it knows u are in reverse...
Gary Walker no, my car did not come with a reverse camera. I wired it in with the head unit. What you have to do is tap into your reverse light leads, and then that will supply the signal to the camera to let the head unit know when your car is in reverse. So yes, it will understand exactly when your car is put in Reverse based on the reverse lamp Illuminating.
scantron5k oh nice. was it very hard to do ? so the reverse light triggers the head unit and powers the camera ? also is it just a wire coming off the unit that you connect to the reverse light? or do you hook it to the camera and the camera tells ur unit ? and did the camera come with the unit ?
Gary Walker Yes, camera came with unit. All you have to do is connect the power wire from the camera ti the reverse light. When in reverse, it activates the camera and tells the head unit to display the picture.
just had my Pioneer avh3500 permanently borrowed from me. Great video! Mostly use Google Play account and handsfree phone with Samsung S5. Handsfree phone?
Yea, I'm trying to connect the screen to an external monitor, but I can't find the video out cable. On the back of your unit do you have a bunch of small connection inputs of odd shaped cables or just two connection ports? I'm trying to find a replacement cable but all I can find is the two same size cables. Can you take a pic of the back of it so I can see if yours looks like mine?
Hey man. Mine did not come with instructions. Not sure how to change car logo to Chevy like yours. Steering wheel controls are a bit hard to understand to set. Is there any place online to find a manual?
I love your review, but I can't seem to find the same stereo you have. Do you have a direct link? I looked up the model number you posted in the comments, but its a windows stereo. Thanks!
+kyle Sheridan Sorry, the ebay link I used to buy mine is no longer available. You can find them all over on ebay though. Just type in Android Radio Double Din.
@@jkeppler88 if you are referring to The back-up camera, it came with the unit. If you are referring to the wiring harness, I purchased it at Best Buy. It was about $75.
thanks to your review, I got the same one few weeks ago, got it installed and so far I'm liking it. kinda low on the treble tones but my oem speakers were made for mid to high no bass (96 explorer Eddie Bauer of you know anything about that wiring nightmare lol) couple questions if I may, what's the password for developer options and in order to out my own photos on it for the background, can I use the SD card that I have my tunes on? the one connected at the front. and the other SD slot on left side, what is that one for? I was told GPS but what GPS files should I load to make it work? I don't use my phone on it unless for calls and tethering wifi. great review! thanks! oh and RUclips is awesome on road trips lol
+Kurtis Toycen Gald you like it! Yes, you can use the pics from the same sd card as your tunes to set a backround image. The password for the advanced setting is: 123456. And lastly, the sd card slot on the left is a dummy slot... it can't be used for anything.
+scantron5k I've tried that password but still won't let me in. it's still the 4.4.4 version. regardless, this is one of the best operating stereos I've ever had fit the cost. oh and I found an equalizer app to add more treble and bass for a better sound quality. is called equalizer (who'd have thought) made by Smart Android Apps LLC. in case you wanted to check it out. thanks again!
Looks great, im really wanting this for my supra. Do they come with presets to choose from for different car brands ? like toyota ? And i see they have the play store which is awesome being able to download apps. I think im going to get this !
scantron5k Thanks ! i have a plan with a standalone ecu in my car that has bluetooth capability. And they have an app you can download on playstore. If i down load it and enable the bluetooth it would be awesome because i then could see all engine vitals on the app in the stereo instead of trying to mount my phone with a small screen.
"I'm gonna back out of this cause I don't know what's going to pop up " lmao man that was unexpected. subscribing 🙊🙉🙈
alfredo pelayo Hahaha
Yeah. That was when I hit the like button.
HA! Me too!!!
Sorry for the late response, guys. It is an Ouku brand head unit. As far as the gps issue in some these head units goes, you will have to return it to the merchant and exchange it. My gps works great now. Love the unit.
I got the unit but I can't get RUclips to work can you help
yes, it's reasonably easy... there is a cable provided, plus you have to tap into your reverse lights to tell the unit to activate it when in reverse.
I just want to go to a store and get it install. There is a small store where I live in London but they dont do android radios. They only have overpriced semi android radio.
Bummer!
I just looked at apple carplay,it is that good
just found out these existed might get one
brockf5 hi brock do have the where to buy this car stereo? please send me the link and thanks
Jose
This was either the best head unit review I've seen or a very cleaver way to promote your band lol .. either way I just bought mine after watching this video and now I'm about to look for your band ..great video man 👍
joey griffin pls can u share we the website...wre I can purchase this set
My only issue with this is that it will not receive updates after a while .. Meaning certain apps might not work unless you update. I'd hate to see the day Spotify doesn't work 3 years from now because Android 9 was released and my head unit is still stuck on Kit Kat.
dude just go on xda forum and download a custom firmware with lollipop 5.1 for free!
Did anyone ever tell you that your voice sounds like Seth Rogan? not trying to insult you or anything, just an observation.
+Dominique Hebert Haha- yes. I've heard that a few times. Not insulted at all.
+scantron5k cool.
Maybe you are Seth Rogan :P, can you test this launcher on that radio? play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.orhanyapici.autoui
what is the brand and model of this double din ,and how can i buy one?
Not to be rude but doesnt it appear hes putting too much emphasis on words at times? Which is a bit annoying...But good video otherwise thanks
This car audio support steering wheel control?
love the musics you have more than the head unit.. lol
\m/
Dennis Mart Thanks!
I might have to get one of these just because my DVD/CD JVC only works with iCrap and i'm a android dude. Thanks for the review I am sold, so I will be getting one next year since my radio is still fairly new. Great review
Thanks! you'll love it.
at least you have good taste in music👍
I've been looking into a new stereo for my 2006 C Malibu for a while now. I don't have an auxiliary port and the adapter is annoying. I think this would be a very addition to my car. Thank you for your review my good sir!
no problem!
7:20 what got me to press like.
Ha. Thanks.
love the band there fella.
wouldn't mind hearing some more. vocals and drums sound great
Thanks for the props, dude. Band's name is As They Sleep. Google/Spotify should give you everything you need to know!
Ok I'm sure you've said it in the mass of comments but I don't have another hour to skim over the other half of over 800 comments and there is no way to search for words/phrases in the comments. Nice music your band produces! Can't believe u don't have more listeners on spotify.

Great Review! I was on the fence. Now I'm Sold!
Thanks!
dude your video is the only great review on these because when I'm looking for the review of the device all i get was Devs.
Thanks man!
Hey two questions, 1. what is the name of this and 2. is it still good for this year?
+TheLamerLinux It's an Ouku, and yes, it's doing great.
Alright thank you
Can you control it by the steering wheel controls ?
Yes. The steering wheel controls come with. It ruins the integrity of the steering wheel IMO
Like your review on this android. Checked EBay and many on site but a 2017 radio looks likes this says this is a Tacado brand. Hopefully same when I go to buy it. This 2017 also has 16GB where other seller has one with only 8GB. Assume that one is an older model. Thanks for the good review.
Thanks for thee video and for the music ;)
I did not know the Ring of Saturn, they're sound great.
Thank you
nice review got the radio oslo do you no how the firmware upgrade works and where to get the tanks
Many of these Chinese units seem to break down after a while. If you still have your car, is yours still running?
Are you able to connect amplifier for your subwoofer?
Just ordered one... Supernatural great video bro..
Lol!
came for the radio review, stayed for the music. left buying your bands music.
Deafcomm Best comment yet... Thanks man!
scantron5k No problem. 5 seconds was enough to tell it's great and I need it now.
Deafcomm I love it. You roll the same way I do. Thanks for the support, homie. We have merch online, too. I believe that you can still purchase stuff through our label, Solid State Records, too.
The wifi range is not strong, the pass for change the Icon is 123456. For the price is very good radio. I loved.
Wifi range in a car..nigga really?
WiFi antenna range.
nigga????
range from the hot spot and the radio..
From the emission to the receiver(Radio)
Does it link to Sirius radio if you have a subscription? Can you plug the sat antenna into it?
he said "i'm going to back out because i don't know whats going to pop up." Lmao
Im curious on the customization of the home screen. Clocks, icons removed etc. I saw the Panlelo head unit that had a real nice home screen that's interchangeable. thanks
Raul Nieves Yes, you can customize your screen to your liking. You can also use different launchers, etc.
Awesome review ,thanks!
what brand and model is this ?does it have screen mirroring optio for cellphones?is the screen capacitive or resistive?
Really cool video, I am on the process to buy one pf those videos, and your vide helped me a lot !
Zouhair Benazzouz Thanks!

listening to your band kicks ass
+Larry Juergens Thanks bro!
probably one of the better reviews i`ve seen. what was your original gps issue? Also is it fairly easy to install the back up camera? Thanks
Joe Mascari thanks, my first unit just wouldn't lock on GPS no matter what I did. It sucked, but they replaced it with a brand new one and now it works just fine. Yes, the back of camera was fairly easy to install.
Ok thank you.
Since when do you have it ?
i am thinking to buy one
what are the pros and cons for this player
Emco Construct I bought it in May of '15. Love it. Please read through the comment threads to find any other info you may need.

ebay, 1yr, no, no, and it would go to a US shipping facility.

That sucks man… I can't remember the brand, but I can tell you that I cut it from the back by scoring it over and over with a razor knife.
You said you liked the sound quality better than stock . Did you change any of your speakers or just the head unit ?
Just the head unit.
nice video thx for the information
btw greetings from germany
Hi.
I have some questions about it because I'm using similar but Bosion unit, but there is different os. So I have some questions:
1) can you set auto brightness on yours device?
2) can you make the touch sound quieter or only on/off?

Well done video bruh ! 👍 I'm sold !
Thanks!
+scantron5k Anytime ! 🍻
Thanks for all the great info I found the install worthless I'm pretty good at any thing I just need time identify some terminal wires and there function lol
at night can we switch off the display, while music continues??
What is the slot on the top left ? like the one on the right which you can put in the SD card
very cool unit and great video, great info sir thanks alot
+Luis Orlando You're welcome!
Great review, thanks.
Does the processor keep up with your tasks. I mean does navigation or other tasts ever lag?
Yes, keeps up just fine.
+scantron5k awesome, appreciate the response.
Hi scantron. Very nice explanation!!! Please can you share the exact model of head Unit car or where to buy it? and dask kit unit too. Thanks for all.
It's a multitouch screen? like a phone, or you have to put preasure on the screen to works?
cesar rene cruz medrano yes, it works just like a cell phone screen. Pinch zoom and everything.
Excellent review.
You mentioned that it is slightly larger than a 2 din. Do you know by about how much? You have me considering one.
Thanks.
A. Robert Ausili Thanks man. Yeah, you have to cut the dash kit frame out by like an extra 1/4" vertically and horizontally.
A. Robert Ausili honestly, I've never thought about it, man. but yes, I would definitely upgrade the vet's cassette player hahaha.
Thanks again. The fact that you are happy with this unit after a year and a half speaks volumes. For the price it is worth a try (to see if it fits). There may be a depth issue too. I was considering the shallower non disc player but yours seems to be tried and true.
Thanks again from Jax Fl.
A. Robert Ausili no problem!
What is the exact model of your unit. I really like it. What version of android does it used? Thanks
btw u can use google maps offline :),, thanks for the review! bought one from aliexpress. Ownice C200. Cant wait to get mineeeeee
No, maps requires data. Hope you love it!
+scantron5k you can download the maps using wifi and use it outside. :) support.google.com/maps/answer/6291838?hl=en i use it all the time.
+Grimmie 〈3 Ohhhhh, I did see something about that recently! My bad. Enjoy!
+scantron5k hii got another question. How is the unit now? Are you still using it? If not why?
+Grimmie 〈3 it's great. I use it every day!
Hi ..great video
Did you get any RCA humming sound ? or did you connect output directly without amplifier ?
thanks again
sorry, I never hooked up an amp, so I can't comment on that.
Kunal Arora did you run cables for power on opo side of rca's
Awesome in depth review sir. THnx
No problemo! Thanks for watching.
Lance Riplett II I just used a standard aftermarket one. Don't listen to them.
scantron5k Sweet, thanks man. My wife is on my ass about installing it in her car! Weekend Project. Thanks
Will that system fit my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT?
For the GPS to work, did you have to install anything such as a 4G sim card or a GPS antenna, or anything else that would not be included in the package?
NissanN12Dude it comes with an antenna to mount up near your rearview mirror. Works perfectly.
scantron5k Thanks! Definitely going to buy one of these.
So are you still using this unit and does it still work? Wondering about it's longevity. Thanks!
Benjamin Lester yep!
were you able to keep all of your steering wheel controls?
I didn't have any radio controls on my steering well to begin with. From what I understand, it's very doable.
after using for almost a year now, would you recommend this product for the rest of us?
Yep, still works perfectly.
BRO,WE SPOKE A WEEK OR SO AGO.UNBELEIVABLY
my stock car stereo just bit the dust, so I go to look into upgrading and DAMN!
Hello witch is the serial or model to buy it and where can I buy it online at good price Many Thanks
Now that it's 2017, how is it running?
I've read a lot of people saying these things poop out after a couple of months.
Mushu Puma Mine runs perfectly.
Excellent! Thanks for your update! I know what I'm installing in the 'new' car!
Google maps let's you download areas for offline use. My son drove from Colorado to Ohio with no data use.
That HU is cool. I may get one.
were you able to use the factory mic ir did you have to use the one that car with the head unit?
Ashleigh Wooddell I use the mic on the head unit when I use it.
I have the same unit, for the gps antenna it came with long cable that screws into back of unit with an external piece with adhesive to mount, where did you mount yours?
Jason Lucas I ran it up around the windshield and mounted it next to my rearview mirror.
Cool, thanks for the response
youre a champ! thanks mate
Great Review! This sold me on this unit. Only problem is for the life of me i can't get it to bluetooth sink with an OBDII connector so i can use torque. It pairs with my phone (Android) and my wife phone (Apple) just fine. Have you gotten it to pair with OBDII connectors?
MrBrewmeister1 Sorry, I haven't. But thank you for the review props!
Hey, does this unit support steering wheel control? Have you hooked yours up?
Saaif Khan Yes, but I don't have steering controls.
thank you, i was trying to find something like this I found your post today but bought it yesterday. sucks I can't get it installed I am not really great with the car electronics. But I am a Computer System Networker haha. is it easy to install the backup cam how do you install it also did you setup the steering will configuration?
Rashawn Harrison no problem, and yes, I did install the backup camera and it is easy to do. Just follow the instructions in the box.
how come no one ever talks about how to hook the camera up? is it easy? do you have to run a new wire to the back?
adictiveadictive yes
adictiveadictive I think of you can locate the reverse light wires under the dash you can splice it there
All you have to do is power the back up camera from the back up lights in the trunk. That way, the camera only comes on with the back up lights, or when you're in reverse.
Silly question does this have to be hooked up to your phone for the apps to work?
Only if the app requires a data connection. You can use a data connection from your phone via hotspot, or if you're sitting in your garage on your home wifi signal.
Does the radio section display the song title and artists?
Yes, as well as the station names.
Does the front lcd detach ....for safety?
No, it doesn't.
Hello, what about FM Radio and Navigation? Is the radio completely muted out, when voice guidance is triggered? Or it works ok?
azislo Yes, it mutes.
plus you had to buy the Aftermarket Wiring kit interface?
Yep, totally. The dash kit was pretty cheap though... like $15.
Wiring harness was about $75. All cars are different though.
Wow that is cheap the cheapest I can find is like 90 bucks for that wiring kit cuz I got on Star and all your times and warnings and stuff for it through the radio to stock wise
How did you break into Hotspot? I need to know. I also have AT&T and it sucks not being able to use it.
Gregg Ewing You will have to root your phone, unfortunately. The hotspot hack is available on xda forum.
hey. thanks for the video.. I just bought this one and installed it yesterday.... how did you remove the radio, navi, music, video widgets from the home screen?
No problem, and I'm still using the stock launcher that came with mine. I haven't really scooted much around.
Oh really? I wonder if mines slightly different then. Cus all it had on my home screen were the widgets I listed. And if I wanted the apps on there so i had to drag to the home screen. But still an awesome unit huh? Have you had any problems with it since you bought it?
+Samantha Nelson Nope! Unit is doing great. I've had it for a year now.
Good review.
Sorry , another question does it connect to steering wheel controls?
Yep.
When in reverse, it activates the camera and tells the head unit to display the picture.
is that a custom launcher or was that already on the head unit ?
It's the stock launcher.
just had my Pioneer avh3500 permanently borrowed from me. Great video! Mostly use Google Play account and handsfree phone with Samsung S5. Handsfree phone?
yessir!
Does it have a aux cord
Hello, I believe I bought this same unit, but I can't find the video out cable. Did your unit come with an video out cable?
Greg Brady Hi, yes it did.
Greg Brady That sucks, man. you just have two wiring harnesses and they habecwhat I need on them.
Yea, I didn't think it would be this hard to find a simple cable.lol. So the back of yours looks like this: imgur.com/a/kew67
Hey man. Mine did not come with instructions. Not sure how to change car logo to Chevy like yours. Steering wheel controls are a bit hard to understand to set. Is there any place online to find a manual?
+abvpros It's in advanced settings. You can find anything you need to know about your head unit here: forum.xda-developers.com/
Hey I was wondering did they send you a wiring harness and is the back up camera wireless or do you your the oem
They didn't send a wiring harness. And the backup cam is wired.
The one you had in video that plugs in back of radio where did you get it or did it have a part number I can look up
@@jkeppler88 if you are referring to The back-up camera, it came with the unit.
+Kurtis Toycen thanks! will do!
Looks great, im really wanting this for my supra.
Do they come with presets to choose from for different car brands ? like toyota ?
And i see they have the play store which is awesome being able to download apps. I think im going to get this !
Yes, you can totally set it up with a Toyota logo. I'm sure you'll love it!
scantron5k Thanks ! i have a plan with a standalone ecu in my car that has bluetooth capability. And they have an app you can download on playstore. If i down load it and enable the bluetooth it would be awesome because i then could see all engine vitals on the app in the stereo instead of trying to mount my phone with a small screen.
How is the unit is it still working excellent, is there any problems
still working great!
Is the head unit still working ? What is name and model?,and how did you get chevy bowtie was it a app??
Bill Bond Yes, Ouku, and in advanced settings. Passcode is 123456.
