I was able to find a 5 percent coupon code: AFFSC-3555-KJ6ZN-FYNL Where i got the unit: www.seicane.com/2014-2015-2016-subaru-wrx-android-radio-dvd-player-gps-navigation-system-bluetooth-touch-screen-4g-wifi-dab-tpms-dab-dvr-obdii-s169208?acc=45c48cce2e2d7fbdea1afc51c7c6ad26
I REALLY want one of these now, especially since installation is so straight forward. It's so hard to find Plug-N-Play in the aftermarket industry so it just goes to show you the amount of attention to detail Seicane put into this HU. If you don't think an install video is necessary, that's cool. I'll just say if you make one, I'll watch it. lol.
Thanks so much for posting! I have a 2015 WRX Limited as well with HK, and I've been hesitant to pick this up due to unclear warning about having the HK setup. This just sold me on it. Thanks!
It only uses 1GB with all the Apps open because it has Memory Management activated. Meaning everything in the background gets stopped. Which sounds good but will mess with certain Plugins in Torque, etc. you can put apps in the exception list in order to keep them open but it will consume more RAM having them run in the background. Meaning just make sure your headunit has atleast 2GB RAM or 3 would be even better. 1Gb is not recommended no matter how much you do. Also allot of Headunits do not support BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Mode. Meaning it odes not support aftermarket TPMS without addons for example. This is very annoying. But all in all dont get me wrong these Headunits are way better then most manufacturer OEM Units.
Marlon Mcpherson No, make sure it has more or you will get frustrated with it very fast. The new generation has up to 4GB RAM. If possible also go for the 32GB ROM Version. 16GB works but you will be limited. Also try to get a Android 7 or newer. Most Chinese Headunits do not release over the air updates. Compare prices from aliexpress and ebay etc. Allot of Sellers will declare the value on the Package lower to decrease import taxes. Use Free Shippinc or Standard Shipping. Do not use EMS or DHL when possible. Might be faster shipping but declaration is usually higher with those carriers.
Swiss420 do you have a brand I can look into for 2007 honda crv. Right now I have a Joying band that am using but it's very slow and freeze up at times, android 5.5 lollipop 1Gb and 16G rom
Hey man, I was looking into getting one of these a while back when I saw your first upload of an android head unit. This video helped me decide what I wanted, but they don't have a good fit model for my car (2013 dodge dart) Thanks for the upload, man!
Again awesome video bro, would be nice to see a install video also. Question does usb plugs cigarette lights and aux plugs work that are inside the arm rest? Also does your factory back up camera work? Did you have to buy any extra wires or does the head unit bring everything you need to make it plug and play? So I’m assuming this will work with a 2016 STi no navi or HK.Thank you have a nice day
Yeah when i have time i'll do an install video. For usb to work you need an adapter. My 2015 use a "toyota USB adapter" amzn.to/2xibgwr i think it works but i didn't test it. I tested in my older units and they work. I remember buying a bunch of wires back in the day though haha so i can't really confirm
John Nguyen Nice upgrade! Now is it a lot if you upload a how to install video, I know you already did one with the old unit! Please show the adaptes we will need to have and a demo of the back up camera! Give a little more detail . Thanks
New unit looks great. Would definitely like to see the install vid, as i think you’ve convinced me to ditch the 2015 stock head unit and go with this one. Thanks man!
I would try setting the CANBus type to Subaru, in the factory menu. The CANBus function lets the head unit read and display data from the car's internal communication bus and sensors (A/C status, doors open/closed, dynamic guidelines for the reversing camera, TPMS, oil/fuel/washer fluid info). There's a higher probability that it won't work, than that of it working, but it's worth a try. This usually needs a small CANBus decoder box, that comes with the head unit, or is bought separately. The head unit is generic, whereas the CAN decoder is car manufacturer specific, that's why it's separate. Depending on whether the CAN bus has a separate plug on the back of the head unit, or is just one of the wires in the existing connector, and whether your Subaru model supports that, you may or may not need to buy the CAN decoder for Subaru. I don't know how Subaru does it. That's why I think it's worth a try, enabling it in the factory menu and seeing what happens (by opening/closing the door on the car, fiddling with the A/C controls).
these reviews still seem to leave out alot of unanswered questions...does it support subwoofers and aftermarket amps, it already kind of bums me out that it doesn't have a cd player or aux. Aesthetically. it's beautiful, but what is it good for otherwise?
amzn.to/2yoFb9M for the converter this is what i used to get the signal through. for the data (you have to kind of know what you are doing) amzn.to/2xG74ql
John Nguyen killing it bro. Appreciate the help. I ordered the headunit today and the converter. On the subispeed video they also recommend a harness to retain the stock usb. Is that necessary with this unit?
I purchased the Pumpkin 7.1 I like it a lot no probs and sounds surprisingly good. Only negative is the RCAs are very low voltage. .50-.75 volt on the 4 channels and less than .5 volt on sub output. This was forcing me to turn the gains on my amp all the way up. Had to install a line driver(audio control) everything sounds great now.
No, many other cars have this option too. Just go search on the forums for your specific car and to my knowledge most cars have the option to buy these
I'm absolutely loving these new Android headunits!! I'd love to ditch my Kenwood DNX9702S for one of these. The boot up time on my Kenwood takes forever. 😞
hoeleefuqq is right. This is the newer model. I get a lot of request to get the newer one since the older one is discontinue. Better viewing angles, better cooling, also my old didnt a front micro sd, and also the panel lighting is RGB now(to list a few).
I noticed on Seicane.com there was two CAM hook ups. Is one of those for the dash cam and the other for the rear view camera or is there an additional option to have say a front grill camera so you don't crash your new CF lip into those parking space stoppers?
Very good tips. Thx man! Also if u guys DON'T have reverse cam & annoyed when u get black screen.. just cut the orange/black cable =) At least that's for my ES4727A 7" Android 7.1
John Nguyen I was just about to ask if you could change the icons because imo those were the worst part of this. It's so close to stock Android that stock icons would just perfect it
Man, fantastic review!! Congrats!! Question: aparte from changing de amp in the HK 2017 model, the rest of the cables are plug and play or you have to adapt everything when you have the HK model 2016+? Thanks!!
I really love this, however I may need to wait for a hardware upgrade for 3 reasons. 1. My Audi has controls at the gear selector, and I've gotten used to those shortcuts (Setup, Nav, Media, etc) and I prefer those buttons and the scroll wheel over touchscreen. I would like those buttons programmable like they did for steering wheel. 2. A lot of my car config is on my MMI unit, and things like oil has to be checked there as there is no dipstick. 3. My Mode button on the steering wheel changes the mode on my speedometer screen, like pulling a basic version of the Nav directions from the main Nav screen and alternating between my tracklist and main display (digital speed/fuel consumption).
Thanks for the video man, awesome stuff. Just to double check, you didn't have to buy any of add-ons that they offer on the product page, did you? I want to be sure before I order this thing so I don't leave something crucial out. Thanks again!
Nice, thanks for the quick replay. I've got an AP too so I'll likely pass. I've got a 2015 so I was hoping for plug and play. Last question: did you hook up mic for bluetooth calling at all or did you not bother? were you able to use stock mic or did you have to use the one that came with the head unit?
Hey i have a 15 too. This unit came to set of harness which was good for me and good for you. I have the harman kardon so my wiring is a bit different. If you have the base then you will use the other harness. either way you are covered and it's easier since our reverse camera are on the mfd. This uses two mics and it sounds pretty good compare to just having one. I have it wired super cleanly and it's hidden and my friends say i still sound clear.
Greta videos man!. Now what about Aux ? Can you get the factory port to work with the unit? And any way to put Bluetooth as one of the modes? Kinda annoying always having to hit the ad2p app thing
Alright, so I'm just a tad lazy (don't want to scroll through a ton of comments and see different questions/answers) and have some questions. I have the 2018 model WRX. 1) I have the limited with harmon kardon (sounds pretty decent). Is the amp for that set up in the factory head unit? Is that why I need to get an amp? How easy would it be to install an amp to this head unit? 2) for the 2018, how would I connect the back up camera? 3) does it have auto dimming dimming, or auto brightness? 4) How long is the start up exactly? 5) To use things like Google Maps, or lets say Google Play, do I need to have my phone tethered using the hotspot? Would I have to turn on my hotspot each time I get in the car? I don't want to eat up my phone battery by keeping hotspot on at all times just so it's seamless getting in the car, but I don't think my hotspot stays on forever (turns off due to inactivity) thanks man.
Dw, i got you. 1.) You need to get an amp for the 2018 because the hk amp in 2016+ isn't traditional 2.) Yes 3.) Yes, no for auto brightness 4.) Startup is instant if (Standby/sleep is set to 1 hour), no time on startup but its the same as stock i would say. I hated how i had to hit okay for some naviagation b.s. on the stock unit. 5.) Yes, i hotspot + charge while its tethered. If im lazing bluetooth is fine. The built IN GPS (no data) works like any tom tom/garmin i used to use google maps but waze is better. If gmaps is your thing look into google map offline if you dont want to tether
NO. They sent me a different unit from the 1 I ordered, the order had 2 pieces missing, there was no installation or user guide and no invoice. The unit will not work unless the ACC supply is connected directly to the radio so no steering wheel controls. The aftersales only answer emails at the end of their day (if at all) so that you get an "out of office" when you respond.
Phenomenal review. Thanks. One question- can you turn the screen off without turning the unit off? Like if you want to turn the screen off at night but still have it running?
John, great stuff, keep it up. Gonna get this HU, just trying to decide if I need the Parrot Bluetooth. Do google voice commands work to make phone calls and stuff?
Absolutely no extra harnesses I need to buy? Converter harness for the backup camera needed? SWC works that instant? How plug & play is it?! If so.....I'm sold!!!!
all the harness is included so you don't have to buy anything to get it working. There are some optional stuff: -USB Adapter so you can use your usb inside your center console. -If you have a 2016+ the reverse camera uses 6v. So you need like a 5 dollar like resister to make it the 12 volts to 6 volts. I have a 15 wrx so my reverse camera is up top. amzn.to/2xiiB41
Hi John! Great Vid and recommendation. I just got myself one and I was looking at the supplied harness. There is a "reverse-in" and "brake-in" wire connected on one end of the plastic harness but exposed on the other end. Are there wires in the car that connects directly to these wires? (Sorry, clearly not a smart tech)
if your car has the reverse camera video coming from the head unit you are gonna have to tap into those wires. I would look into the wiring diagram of the car. Try to find the reverse signal of your car, then tap it in. For me i didn't have to do that because my reverse camera video comes in from my top screen
Nice radio. I have a Kenwood unit. Can the seicane unit do rear monitors for the kids and you can listen to the radio and view navigation. All three at the same time.
I just ordered one for my Jeep Renegade so I guess I will find out soon. Hey what software did you use to do and edit your video? I need something simple like that.
Thanks for posting John! Your video really makes me want to get this. I got a 2015 WRX and did a bit of reading on this. Seems like I don't have to worry about my backup camera (since its on MFD screen) and also I don't have HK sound system. Only things I need to worry about is to get the 2016 vents correct? Also, does this support the factory mic (for talking on the phone with bluetooth)?
Yeah for you it be super easy. I modify my vents because i didnt want to spend 60 bucks. The fitments okay but if you are trying to get that nice fitment get the 2016 vents. It has its owns mics. has two
I watched your video and was so pumped. BUT then I read a bunch of review online where people say it just does not work. Can you please let me know if it is still working?
Hey John I just installed the unit in my 2015 sti and im having 2 issues, wondering if you know of a fix. 1. The Bluetooth audio using my iPhone 6 is distorted and poor quality 2. The mode and call buttons on the steering wheel don’t register for the hot keys? Any help would be much appreciated!
I have car dvd android unit that is 3 years old with 4.4.2 firmware. Quadcore and 2 gb ram included. Is there any way i can update it to latest firmware?
Thanks for another good video. Do you use your personal gmail account like the one used on your phone, or do you setup a new account for the car? I saw that there was a gmail notification, does that mean that anyone that sits in your car can read / reply / send your emails?
Hey John, I don't remember where I read it (forum or Facebook) but I didn't you mention a custom firmware/rom built around audio settings? Can you remind me the name of that rom?
if you root the device you can download a reallly powerful software called viper4android. its the best, and im not joking. I haven't messed with it though on this new device, im happy with how it sounds out of the box
When you have time, can you make a parts list of all the extra wires that need for the installation? I Hv 16 base model and looking to upgrade to this. Thanks
i think all you need is this for the backup camera www.amazon.com/DROK-Waterproof-Efficiency-Converter-Voltage/dp/B00CGQRIFG/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1507524529&sr=1-3&keywords=12v+to+6v&linkCode=ll1&tag=8324894-20&linkId=360ad9d17549834986eabb6243dbbb74 maybe another 28pin harness but you might not need it and just splice some wires together to work around it
Do you always have to manually connect to Bluetooth every time? Also does this read your text messages out loud? This is a really important feature I need when driving.
Thanks for the video. Can you make an update video on the BRZ Panlelo headunit? I'm strongly considering that or a similar Joying unit after experiencing unreliable Android Auto on a brand new pioneer.
I love that head unit. I like how it is more than just the headunit. It is integrated in to part of the dash. I checked your link. They have nothing for my 2002 Ford F-150. Are you aware of something similar for my truck?
When you bought the radio, it came with everything you needed to hook up your rear view camera and steering wheel controls ? Also it keeps all the same functions from the stock radio?
Now I’m wishing I would have held off a little longer to get this one. I just purchased the 6.0 octacore from Subispeed, I will be installing this weekend. Im not too familiar with firmware and software, but is there anyway to install this updated firmware to the unit I just purchased? Thanks man, another great video
I also got the octacore one but this is only quadcore. 6.0 looks more customizable than this. From this video, it seems like 7.1 doesn't have widgets. This looks like a shitty version of Carplay
They are pretty similar, just let me know how it goes. I saw the octacore one from subispeed and other website but i want the latest operating system. As far as updating it varies betweent the MCU rom. Check out the xda developer forum. The stock rom look pretty good on this but if you don't like the look you can go for a different launcher so that's not an issue with your widget issue you listed.
John Nguyen Ok thanks, I’ll definitely check it out. And yes I really liked the car launcher you had on your last HU. I will more than likely add it right after its installed.
I didn't hear if you mentioned it, but how many pre-out (RCA) connections does this bad boy have for amps? Subispeed's site seems to list Front/Rear/Sub, but it's not very clear. (They also list it as having an octo-core processor) Thanks for the review!
Hi John! Would upgrading to this headunit make it sound better than stock headunit? I was thinking of pioneer and from what I understand they had a 'built-in amp' to power the door speaker which in turn make the door speaker sound better.
ok..whats your opinion on some softwarefor my large mp3 collection. Im wanting a app that builds a searchable database of the large organized music folder (structured for albums and genre. And maybe some visualizations (winamp eg milkdrop). but also will use the album art that i have embedded in earch mp3. I seem to have such a issue finding something that will work. Hoping you have some input since you test alot of stuff on your android player
Hey John! I was wondering if it mattered that I had the Harman Kardon system in my Sti? Do I need to have another harness or will everything it comes with work even with the Harman Kardon? Thanks in advance hope you can get back to me!
If you don't have steering wheel controls and you add a bluetooth remote control? I had this issue with a Joying android head unit, I assumed I could pair a bluetooth remote control, but wasn't able to.
Nice video. Is it possible to upgrade my headunit software to look like this? I ordered the same headunit but with android 6. I really like this launcher. P.s. sorry if it’s stupid qestion, but I newer use android...
I was able to find a 5 percent coupon code: AFFSC-3555-KJ6ZN-FYNL

John Nguyen you are the real MVP! 👍🏽
Just watch the shipping charges. Thanks fir the awesome video as usual.

John Nguyen, where do I find this unit for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma? I really want this unit really bad, PLEASE HELP!!!
yeah shipping was 70 bucks for me but it came fast and was well pacakged. I had mine deliver my fedex and they required a signature!
"I was able to find a code" it's an affiliate code lol, you can tell throughout the video he's trying to sell you on it
I love your reference to "480p like back in 1999." 9:41. Thanks for the review, John. Very informative as always.
does it now have magnetic compass ? so when your looking at the map .... it points in the right direction ...... and not only when you're moving
Thanks so much for posting! I have a 2015 WRX Limited as well with HK, and I've been hesitant to pick this up due to unclear warning about having the HK setup. This just sold me on it. Thanks!
owning 16 wrx premium patiently waiting for install video ~.~
I might have to make one!
John Nguyen yeah thanks!!! Lot of ppl gonna be like it!!!
Got mine from Amazon it's coming in the mail on Sunday for my Sequoia :). I am super excited about it :)

So far best video I've seen showing off the features of a Android head unit. Thanks!
Does Google Voice work on it?
yes!
Hey man,
I was looking into getting one of these a while back when I saw your first upload of an android head unit. This video helped me decide what I wanted, but they don't have a good fit model for my car (2013 dodge dart)

Hey anthony,
I would check out the universal ones like this one : amzn.to/2xFw9Ss
$200 bucks

I might make one to help you guys out
factory backup camera doesnt work on 2016+ models. You have to solder for it to work.
Or twist tie a 12v to 6v adapter and be good.
haggard
you need that too but the factory plug does not work for the headunit you need to cut into your factory harness for it to work.
Can you show how to rig it to get the camera to work
S John Nguyen
Miguelangel Abad the install video from subispeed shows everything
I would try setting the CANBus type to Subaru, in the factory menu. texazyaya CDs are pretty useless these days & Bluetooth is your AUX.
Highly doubtful this headunit won’t support subs & amps like what,
Aux is supported if your car already comes with it otherwise you could get one installed on to your dashboard by stereoshop
Your dumb
I saw this and got one, installed it today, it’s really good. Very impressed. Loud too. So much better than the VW rubbish. Thanks
Yeah, the stock unit is trash!
I have a 2017 wrx. What do I need to do in order to get my back up camera to work?
a 12v to 6v converter and an the harness your reverse camera is in.
28 pin?
I did it for the brz and it was really easy.
amzn.to/2yoFb9M for the converter
this is what i used to get the signal through. for the data (you have to kind of know what you are doing)
amzn.to/2xG74ql
John Nguyen killing it bro. Appreciate the help. I ordered the headunit today and the converter. On the subispeed video they also recommend a harness to retain the stock usb. Is that necessary with this unit?
How is the headunit? I also have a 2017 wrx and im thinking about this unit.
It looks great bro. It changes the whole look of the interior of the dashboard.
You’ve help me make up my mind. Will be looking into this for my mitsubishi.
yeah, let me know if you need any help
What launcher are you using?
i would also like to know, how to get the look of your launcher.
Its what it came out of the box 7.1.2 android
John Nguyen is it a 1G ram or 2G ram
Marlon Mcpherson he said 2GB in the vid
I purchased the Pumpkin 7.1 I like it a lot no probs and sounds surprisingly good. Only negative is the RCAs are very low voltage. .50-.75 volt on the 4 channels and less than .5 volt on sub output. thank you, that should help many people
No, really let your hands do the talking! 🤣
I have ordered an Octa core 1.6Ghz with 4GB DDR3 Ram Android 8.0 for my Honda Jazz. Can't wait to install it in my car. 😊
If you have already received this unit please let me know how it's doing. I've had many bad reviews for these guys.
To which cars can this be installed? only subarus?
viryilito seems like it. Wish I could use it for my Mazda
So you bought a new head unit or you just upgraded the software?
Luis Espinal I’m pretty sure that’s a new head unit since the last one he had didn’t have good view angels from what he said on the video
I wanna buy this head unit, but I wanted to know if it is possible to hook up the factory camera
hoeleefuqq is right.
This is the newer model. I get a lot of request to get the newer one since the older one is discontinue.
Better viewing angles, better cooling, also my old didnt a front micro sd, and also the panel lighting is RGB now(to list a few).
yeah you can hook up the factory camera
I noticed on Seicane.com there was two CAM hook ups. Is one of those for the dash cam and the other for the rear view camera or is there an additional option to have say a front grill camera so you don't crash your new CF lip into those parking space stoppers?
Sick review bro. Hope can find a good unit like yours. It so smooth and look so clean in your car!!
yeah, it's still going strong!
Why are you waving your hand around over the screen. Stop it.
He’s a hand model!
Maybe he is Italian!
@@HoomanM ahh yes, the well known Italian Nguyen's of northern Italy.
Very good tips. Thx man! Also if u guys DON'T have reverse cam & annoyed when u get black screen.. just cut the orange/black cable =) At least that's for my ES4727A 7" Android 7.1
Nice meme m8
HAHA
Nostalgic
I have one in my e46, one din unit and also fitted rear view cam easy to fit; the unit I have is for e46.
bought an android headunit to look like apple lol
you can change the icons, i didn't even know it until a friend mentioned it.
i'm been out apple game since the ipad air and iphone 4s
John Nguyen I was just about to ask if you could change the icons because imo those were the worst part of this. It's so close to stock Android that stock icons would just perfect it
like any android device, you can change the launcher to a google launcher, nova launcher, etc..
just bought this last week thanks to you.
let me know if you have any questions, i'm here to help
John Nguyen will do. thanks man.
14 days gone still haven't received my item yet. 3-7 days express my arse. is seicane legit??
Please let us know if you receive this... I'm really wondering the same thing.
Chris Pivik fedex says my item should be here on November 21. will give you a heads up.
Can't wait to get one now!!
In love with these
yeah it makes my interior look 100 times better
That unit fits so well in ur car as far as the shape if the unit how lucky ! Is that the only shape of this unit?
they sell all sorts of units specifically made for peoples car on their website.
I seen mustangs 2015+, toyota tundra etc
Man, fantastic review!! Congrats!! Question: aparte from changing de amp in the HK 2017 model, the rest of the cables are plug and play or you have to adapt everything when you have the HK model 2016+? Thanks!!
About the Spotify / Waze integration, iPhone also has that.
that's dope!
Great video! Just to clarify, does it have wireless CarPlay or only wired?
I really love this, however I may need to wait for a hardware upgrade for 3 reasons.
1. My Audi has controls at the gear selector, and I've gotten used to those shortcuts (Setup, Nav, Media, etc) and I prefer those buttons and the scroll wheel over touchscreen. I would like those buttons programmable like they did for steering wheel.
2. A lot of my car config is on my MMI unit, and things like oil has to be checked there as there is no dipstick.
3. My Mode button on the steering wheel changes the mode on my speedometer screen, like pulling a basic version of the Nav directions from the main Nav screen and alternating between my tracklist and main display (digital speed/fuel consumption).
yeah for newer audi that have a lot of features it would be hard to implement.
Thanks for the video man, awesome stuff. Just to double check, you didn't have to buy any of add-ons that they offer on the product page, did you? I want to be sure before I order this thing so I don't leave something crucial out. Thanks again!
If you want the obd2 reader thats something i might pick up.
I have an accessport so i didn't get. Other than that it was plug and for my wrx
Kinda annoying always having to hit the ad2p app thing
yes aux works still
I got the newest one, octacore 4gb with 8.0 and this one looks like the software looks alot better I think
Can this (or any Android head unit) be hooked up to something like a Siriusxm radio connect tuner box and then plug that into the stock antenna?
I don't want to eat up my phone battery by keeping hotspot on at all times just so it's seamless getting in the car, but I don't think my hotspot stays on forever (turns off due to inactivity)
thanks man.
Dw, i got you.
1.) You need to get an amp for the 2018 because the hk amp in 2016+ isn't traditional
2.) Yes
3.) Yes, no for auto brightness
4.) Startup is instant if (Standby/sleep is set to 1 hour), no time on startup but its the same as stock i would say. I hated how i had to hit okay for some naviagation b.s. on the stock unit.
5.) Yes, i hotspot + charge while its tethered. If im lazing bluetooth is fine. The built IN GPS (no data) works like any tom tom/garmin
i used to use google maps but waze is better.
So based on all of your reviews. Which android radio to believe is the best for the money.
Thanks for the reviews
Phenomenal review. Thanks. One question- can you turn the screen off without turning the unit off? Like if you want to turn the screen off at night but still have it running?
with certain launcher you can have it super dim with just the clock
John, great stuff, keep it up. Gonna get this HU, just trying to decide if I need the Parrot Bluetooth. Do google voice commands work to make phone calls and stuff?
yeah google assistant works
Sweet review man, I’m almost convinced. Is this CarPlay compatible? And is it compatible with a 2012 STi?
Absolutely no extra harnesses I need to buy? Converter harness for the backup camera needed? SWC works that instant? How plug & play is it?! If so.....I'm sold!!!!
all the harness is included so you don't have to buy anything to get it working.
There are some optional stuff:
-USB Adapter so you can use your usb inside your center console.
-If you have a 2016+ the reverse camera uses 6v. So you need like a 5 dollar like resister to make it the 12 volts to 6 volts. I have a 15 wrx so my reverse camera is up top.

John Nguyen thanks John u da man!!!
John, I see that (in this video) you live near me. Do you still use this Head Unit? also can this be installed into an Acura RSX?
Dope! You got me sold bro lmao. Will be ordering one soon!
post pictures!
Looks really nice, but that website looks kinda sketch. They are listed as DVD, gps units? Price ranges are all over too.
got it within 5 days, no issues
For me i didn't have to do that because my reverse camera video comes in from my top screen
great video man.
Nice radio. I have a Kenwood unit. Can the seicane unit do rear monitors for the kids and you can listen to the radio and view navigation. All three at the same time.
i've haven't tried it but there are video outs so i'm guessing you can
I just ordered one for my Jeep Renegade so I guess I will find out soon. Hey what software did you use to do and edit your video? I need something simple like that.
Wow, looks like I will be doing this mod soon.
It has its owns mics. has two
John Nguyen thanks! Curious where you install your mics? So I ordered it through the website and coupon you gave, just waiting now. :)
Got mines and I have Kodi installed. I'm a happy camper
How was the kodi install?
I watched your video and was so pumped. BUT then I read a bunch of review online where people say it just does not work. Can you please let me know if it is still working?
Hey John I just installed the unit in my 2015 sti and im having 2 issues, wondering if you know of a fix.
1. The Bluetooth audio using my iPhone 6 is distorted and poor quality
2. The mode and call buttons on the steering wheel don’t register for the hot keys?
Any help would be much appreciated!
do these fit the 2017 STI? do they retain the factory back up camera?
If you find out if it fits, let me know ,i have an sti 2019 and have the same question, thanks
Ok thanks for the great review, can you update the Android OS? I ma about to get a unit that is having Android 6 on it.
I have car dvd android unit that is 3 years old with 4.4.2 firmware. Quadcore and 2 gb ram included. Is there any way i can update it to latest firmware?
I doubt it.
Thanks for another good video.
Do you use your personal gmail account like the one used on your phone, or do you setup a new account for the car? I saw that there was a gmail notification, does that mean that anyone that sits in your car can read / reply / send your emails?
Yeah i use my gmail account, up to you
Hey John, I don't remember where I read it (forum or Facebook) but I didn't you mention a custom firmware/rom built around audio settings? Can you remind me the name of that rom?
if you root the device you can download a reallly powerful software called viper4android.
its the best, and im not joking.
I haven't messed with it though on this new device, im happy with how it sounds out of the box
Great video man
Also can you have the GPS open and navigate to the radio to change the station and go back and resume your trip on your GPS without anything affected?
When you have time, can you make a parts list of all the extra wires that need for the installation? I Hv 16 base model and looking to upgrade to this. Thanks
i think all you need is this for the backup camera
www.amazon.com/DROK-Waterproof-Efficiency-Converter-Voltage/dp/B00CGQRIFG/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1507524529&sr=1-3&keywords=12v+to+6v&linkCode=ll1&tag=8324894-20&linkId=360ad9d17549834986eabb6243dbbb74
maybe another 28pin harness but you might not need it and just splice some wires together to work around it
Hey there! awesome video! What extras did you select when you purchased this head unit?
NOPE!
Maybe check out the OBD2 bluetooth adapter tho. I got it for my other car and its nice
Hey John, nice review video. But will the back up camera work on 16 wrx? if so, how and what should i purchase.
Any way to upgrade the rom storage? 16gb is pretty low nowadays
Do you always have to manually connect to Bluetooth every time? Also does this read your text messages out loud? This is a really important feature I need when driving.
its automatic,
does not read text message
This is probably the video Calvin is talking about in Tj Hunt’s new video
yeah it is.
Thanks for the video. Can you make an update video on the BRZ Panlelo headunit? I'm strongly considering that or a similar Joying unit after experiencing unreliable Android Auto on a brand new pioneer.
Yea, i'll be posting that video very soon. Maybe this week or next.
John Nguyen cool I'll be looking out for it!
I love that head unit. I like how it is more than just the headunit. It is integrated in to part of the dash. I checked your link. They have nothing for my 2002 Ford F-150. Are you aware of something similar for my truck?
I would check their website. I'm sure there is something for everyone
As is it looks nice. Would there be any reason to change launchers? (Have you changed launchers with this HU?)
When you bought the radio, it came with everything you needed to hook up your rear view camera and steering wheel controls ? Also it keeps all the same functions from the stock radio?
Thanks for the review! How is the visibility of the screen during the day time?
I have no issues. even with my sunglasses
MikeM have you installed it yet? What year wrx/sti do you have?
I didn't hear if you mentioned it, but how many pre-out (RCA) connections does this bad boy have for amps? Subispeed's site seems to list Front/Rear/Sub, but it's not very clear. (They also list it as having an octo-core processor)
Thanks for the review!
I will go more indepth in the install video
Hi John! Would upgrading to this headunit make it sound better than stock headunit? I was thinking of pioneer and from what I understand they had a 'built-in amp' to power the door speaker which in turn make the door speaker sound better.
i did a comparison on my channel awhile back stock vs android. You can check it out.
If you are asking for my opinion, it does sound better than stock
Thanks man, appreciate. I might jump on this headunit when I get the chance.
That interface is nice and screen brightness would be nice vs my 4.5.2 one. Must not spend money
yeah the brightness is good but if you already have the older one it's hard to justify the old one unless you can sell your old one for a good amount
John Nguyen need to figure out how to root it like how you did your old one. Should do a video on that
ok..whats your opinion on some softwarefor my large mp3 collection.
Great video unit looks awesome!! I have two questions. Can you still hook up XM Satellite radio? And are you able to use Google Play music app? Thanks
I dont think so about the xm,
yes on the google play music!
Hey John! I was wondering if it mattered that I had the Harman Kardon system in my Sti? Do I need to have another harness or will everything it comes with work even with the Harman Kardon? Thanks in advance hope you can get back to me!
John. Voice command & backup camera. I have a 2018 wrx premium and I don't want to sacrifice OEM features. Can you tell me how this would work?
I wish you showed us if the back up cam still works.
This seems to be the S190 platform with 2gb ram. Was your last unit a S160 platform? Did you do a review on that?
I live in California bay area, can’t find the right stereo shop to install joying unit. You dont mind me asking where you got yours installed?
How did you connect the wheel controls? I have a Honda, will it plug in? How did you connect yours? Thanks,
If you don't have steering wheel controls and you add a bluetooth remote control? I had this issue with a Joying android head unit, I assumed I could pair a bluetooth remote control, but wasn't able to.
Not to sure if this will fit my 2014 Subaru BRZ ?!
Any thoughts?
check my channel i have a brz specific one
Nice video. Is it possible to upgrade my headunit software to look like this? I ordered the same headunit but with android 6. I really like this launcher.
P.s. sorry if it’s stupid qestion, but I newer use android...
Are you still using this unit? Any glitches come up?
Does the GPS upgrade like Tom Tom, or are you stuck with it, like the car factory units?
there are so many additional options on the website, What additional components/upgrades did you get?
i didnt get any
Did you took the climate control knob with the red ring on an STI? If not where did you find those? Thanks!
