@@dyldip if you think about it half walls are the same cost as normal walls so the cost and honeycomb cost is actually higher, and you get more space in a 2x1
I would start it with a honeycomb raised foundation all around even if you just leave them out of wood for future upgrade. this way you can turn your starter into a dense mini main base.
1x2 will have less upkeep once you start honeycombing, plus someone may be building a design that uses a 1x2 as the starting blueprint and this is a more efficient core. If nothing else, you can use the building tips in this to make a 2x2 with even more storage :)

Lol well the sign was for the video, you can remove the shop front and door skin so you can’t see in. Add a key lock and put it near other 2x1s around Outpost/Bandit. Might still get raided but lowers your chances 😉

@@dyldip large battery is my go to since I got online raided once where I could only fit the large battery and then hook up and auto turret to kill the raiders and not the medium wouldn't fit lol so the large is my go to

The 2x1 looks cool, but for a starter its dumb. I always build like that for my main base though as a solo. The extra 1k-ish stone cost comes from the half walls. Its an extra 6 walls for the square foundations, and an extra 2 for the triangle foundation. Half walls cost 300 stone just like big walls. Its a really neat build strat though if you like compact bases like myself, i just wouldnt use it in a group or if im planning to live there for more than an hour

I tried that design. Moving on those half floors is too difficult (jump and crouch simultaneously). There is space for only one workbench. For me 2x2 is more funcional.
Hmmm good question. I would try to figure out a way to seal the main loot stored down below or y’know anything that can make this base harder and tougher while still maintaining the 1x2 base infrastructure

Not only is this a 2x1, but it isn’t efficient at all. Half calls cost the same ammount as full walls so there’s no reason to not make 2 full story’s if your trying to be efficient
I've used this base design once before, but to deal with the door camping issue I extend out a few triangles where you have to jump up and then go down, to which a door camper won't be able to do, because as soon as they try to go under the half-wall, they'll be shred to pieces by shotgun traps, and/or hidden cactus trap.

I use it to blend in around high pop areas like outpost but also boost the storage size 🤔

The ramp is just for aesthetics and slight ease of access. Only ever needed medium battery. If you can fit a large, go for it 😉

You’ll have to pick up your door to place it. Make sure nothing else is blocking it like a bag etc.
For some reason i cant put the triangle floor on the tc zone, it just doesnt work
