Wow. Just wow. Seeing a group of high schoolers play this masterfully crafted piece of music so well gives me goosebumps all over my skin! I can’t wait to see what this drum line has to show for us this year, and just overall amazing job from the 2022 Coppell drum line!
That middle pit only section was literally one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard in my life. Also snare feature was amazing with the hand-to-hand and nearly flawless add ins. Amazing group!
Since coppell high school is in Texas, and the fact that Texas is known for their amazing high school marching bands, I’m in a Texas high school located in Dallas, and we’re only a 30 person band lol. This year we’ll be getting alot of percussionists, brass, and woodwinds, but hopefully we could make a impact like Claremont did in 2008 this year. But either way, I’ve seen coppells past marching shows, and they really are amazing in person, and with this show it just sounds purely amazing, so I’m proud to be in the same district as these talented percussionists.
I think it would be really cool if you guys started a series where you had high schoolers submit clips of there lines and you guys react to them. Fun way to spread word of some underrated lines!
Omg I remember getting 3rd in that competition in cedar park. It was fun. But, I didn’t know they didn’t use trad? Also there grip for everything overall was different. But GG. Interesting!
Patricia and I write and teach for the group but it's under the direction of Randall Nguyen and Lindsey Hartfelder who are the heart and soul of the program.
Am proud to say that those are my best friends in that drumline🎉 And I am a varsity marcher in their band.
My HS line wasn’t like that. We were lucky to find three guys for the snare line that could hold their sticks properly.
So relatable

will never forget
So thankful for the great insight and genuine reactions! Thanks Mike and Evan for checking it out!
This high school show is an absolute revelation... You said it best "what is possible".
Several awesome unexpected moments.
I saw these guys at the marcus inventational and when we heard the split singles on 4 and 5 my school freaked out.

And we have to compete with that

I marched DCI with Doug Bush. (Madison Scouts 2000). He is an amazing educator!
Watched this performed live at a Drumline competition, needless to say, they won
If the snare line could do this with traditional grip I'd cry.
Hot damn they're good, bass✊️
Isn’t their source music from arcane?
Yea some of it is. I saw Patricia post about that.
Interesting that you (mike) pronounce Coppell as COE-PEHL when I’ve always heard it pronounced as COP-PEHL or KUH-PEL here in the DFW area. Lol

who teaches this line?
I believe Doug Bush and his wife Patricia run the program. Just phenomenal year after year.
