Got my first ukulele/instrument last week (Enya tenor), and I've been surfing through your videos and lessons and pausing and rewatching almost religiously since deciding to get an ukulele. I've always been into drawing, painting, being creative and just overall appreciating art/music, but I'm in my early 30s and have yet to really sit down and play any kind of instrument (until last week). I just want to say Thank You (!!!) for creating such excellent free content, and providing instruction that's easy to follow and along with and purely there to help those of us who want to learn and improve!

@@BernadetteTeachesMusic I'm really enjoying it! Snapped my first string tonight (the a cord), but I think it might've had some issues from the get go being it has sounded off and needed the most tuning (by far) since getting my ukulele. I was going to wait until tomorrow before attempting any kind of string replacement, but - *knock on wood* - it was easier to change/tune than I expected. Maybe I'd have a different view of this instrument if I were more experienced playing, but from the standpoint of a "newbie" I'm actually very happy with it so far. Even as terrible as I am at it, after just a few days of breaking it out a handful of times a day or so, I can see myself getting noticeably better. Certain basic things that were tricky at first now seem much more possible, and I've tried to switch it up and pick a simple new thing to work on each time.
Anyways, thank you again for real for your content! Your teaching techniques and wealth of videos to pour over is highly appreciated!!!

I'm left handed too but I just started to play the uke and I learn it with the "normal" right handed model.
I'm a lefty player, too and I'm so bummed! I love my Enya Pineapple and this uke looks awesome. I'll cry with you.
There's really no point to needing a lefty uke. Playing requires both hands independently. If righties can learn to fret with their left hands, you can learn to strum with your right. Doing so will save you a million headaches later.
@@faethe000 Easier said than done. I'm left handed. My left hand is the dominant one. I write left-handed etc. Telling a left-hand person to play right handed causes more headaches than necessary.

I bought this ukulele and it’s great! I take it to work 2 days a week and it’s lightweight and easy to carry. This Enya also has a great sound and is easy to play and I don’t have to worry about the heat of the car. This works for me and it’s my fifth ukulele. Thanks Bernadette for this recommendation, it’s a great fit for me. 💝🌸🐝🌺
I bought this pink ukulele 2 weeks ago, and I'm thrilled about it. It sounds less warm than a lot of ukes, a little more metallic like a guitar, and I love it :) The whole package is a great deal! The strap and case are great, on top if it!

I`m so glad I listened to your expert advice !! I Just received my beautiful pick up version in concert size today and I wasn`t disappointed ! I originally had decided on black but then went for White as I had seen some reviews mentioning fingerprint issues on the black finish. So enjoyed my unboxing, sharing my excitement on a video call with my daughter on whatsapp. All I have to say is WOW !!!!! Even the packaging is lovely. The quality of the uke is amazing, lovely weight, gorgeous looking, sounds wonderful both with pick up switched on or off. I LOVE it !!! . Theres nothing I don`t like. The attention to detail, finishing and presentation is so good The gig bag is also excellent quality with great padding, a carry handle and a shoulder strap, always useful ! The accessories included a quality strap with the enya logo, in its own little bag-lovely touch-, a cappo, a charging cable for USB which I love, a standard amp cable, a complete set of spare strings, very straightforward manual and Enya info. Im a very happy momma !!!

I have the white one.. the black was on backorder. I really like this Nova, this is my second ukulele. I started with a Donner tenor and I really like the tenor size so when Enya comes out with the Nova Tenor, I think I will buy that one also. The reason I ordered this one was to take in our RV and not worry about the wooden uke. Thank you Bernadette... as a beginner I'm learning so much from you! I enjoy this new hobby! :-)
I have the white one with cherry blossoms. My son says it's his favorite so far. I've only had it for a few days so I'm still waiting for the strings to settle, but I really love the way it sounds.

Hey am I the only one that there Enya nova ukulele sound weird???
I just bought this Ukulele for my daughter and tried it out before giving it to her and it is so comfortable. It has a good tone and I know she will not have a hard time getting the hang of it (she's 4). Thank you for the recommend. It was instrumental* (*Ha!) in my purchase.

I have one of the white ones in a tenor size with the pickup. I love that uke. It plays better than my ukes that cost double or triple the money. It has the best intonation and fretwork of any of my ukes

I bought this uke in the sky blue colour, concert size and with the built in amp and effects. And I love it! I never expected to until I heard it on so many reviews. It really doesn't sound like you'd think it would! So very light, great acoustic volume due to that sound hole on the top, so easy to play and mine just screamed out for a holographic Simon's Cat sticker. ;) I'd never put stickers on a solid wood ukulele, but when it's plasticky, there's no finish to worry about so...

Just bought the orange one to go with me on a trip to Belfast for a music conference I am addressing. I'm really so impressed with it. I wouldn't travel with any of my best ukes so this is fantastic for the purpose. Looks great and sounds great. Somehow in your video that applies to both player and instrument whereas in mine its just the uke... oh well.. :) :)

I’m curious to know what strings you chose for this instrument? I just ordered mine with the TransAcoustic, a months wait is gonna be pure torture lol. You persuaded me to get the Enya EUP-X1 at the beginning of this summer(‘19) for a whole summers camping in Washington state, now you have me ordering this concert Enya Nova. I’m intrigued to see what Enya tenor uke your gonna have me add to mycollection😋

Dear Bernadette, thank you so much 🙏 for the review ❤️. I have been eyeing at this Enya Nova Ukulele for awhile. I saw that it came with like a semi-hard material case. From your experience, do you think it would be safe to fly with this ukulele in its semi-hard case on the overhead bin? Also, could you please 🙏 make a video sharing your experience on traveling, especially FLYING internationally with a ukulele? How do you explain when going through security check? Will the ukulele cause troubles? What should one expect when flying with the ukulele and how to be well prepared for it? I am about to fly to Vietnam from the US and really want to bring my ukulele along with me but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea.

The pickup is much more than a standard pickup. It is the TransAcoustic system which Yamaha has in a few of its guitars. The TA electronics produce reverb and/or chorus effects inside the ukulele itself with or without an external amplifier. Search RUclips for a demo of TransAcoustic guitars to see what a difference it makes. It's amazing.
Agreed. That video made me cancel my acoustic Nova and upgrade to the TransAcoustic.

Don’t want to change or cut the slots for the strings - on my Kala it worked out well without changing anything. What do you think? Or has anyone of the community experience? I got one of these for my birthday. It's just that I really wanted this and a different one so I don't know which one is better. The other one I wanted was a wood Enya blue concert uke. Can you please tell me whether I should get this one or the wood Enya one???

i started off with the really crappy old plastic on then upgraded and a year later here i am with a brand new light blue one

Bought the black, changed out the strap buttons to black, ordered black tuners and will change those out when they arrive, also going to change the strings to black fluorocarbon, after which changes I shall name this one Johnny Cash. Can't decide whether to leave it "Island" or go low G. Thinking I'll make my Outdoor Tenor low G and leave this one Island. Then I can play anything, in the rain!
Hello 👋 How does it sound if you tap the ukulele body when playing fingerstyle?
Currently have a tenor that has a crack and vibrates. Looking for a new one An and want to do this one - but concerned for the size. I grabbed a tenor originally to give my fat fingers a fighting chance with the ukulele. Do you think this concert one would be a huge size difference from a fret size perspective?
